I'm looking for a decent 10-15-hour survival horror game to fill the void in my soul, and saw that Chronos is on sale. Is it any good? It kind of looks like Dead Space, and saw that the plot has something to do with time travel, which could be interesting. I also saw that it works really well in VR.
yeah buy it
Has anyone actually played this? I haven't heard fuckall about it, why did they think releasing an original game so close to Silent Hill F was a good idea?
>>740856867It has dogshit performance and plays very clunkily. If you can look past both of those things, maybe you'll get a 6/10 experience out of it.
>>740857138I liked the atmosphere and narrative fine enoughsome winter shots were very close to how real winter looks like I quit because of the combat and inventory system. Maybe they're tweaking something with new dlc, idk.
It's an alright game cobbled together from many different game ideasEnviroments are great and atmosphere holds up, especially in more cluttered areasShooting feels good and responsive and the weapon variety you accumulate is fine for what it isTime travel plot is mostly self-contained if a bit out there, but it does its work as a device for the story to move forward
>>740857358>It has dogshit performance
Silent Hill 2 remake or Silent Hill FFatal FramesCronos was alright
>>740856867why does that helmet have a vagina vent?
>>740857138It's resident polack space: the space within the last of usPlay dead space, or dead space reheated. It's shittier than every game it takes "inspiration" from, and has abysmal writing that's butthurt over getting an ethnostate from USSR and covid.
>>740857662Foid protagonistDidn't bother with it
>>740857704>Foid protagonistI really liked her delivery
same boat as OP(faggot)I was flipping a coin between this video game or tormented souls 2. ended up being cronos.about to start playing
a friend of mine decided to play it and streamed it for a while, the dialogue was terrible, there was a scene where two robots talked about cats, the combat seemed to be an uninspired copy of re4 and dead space
>>740857682But I've already played Dead Space to death and I will never, ever buy the adam sandler edition even if it's used at a flea market for $3
>>740856867No, it was a 4/0 for me. It's fairly mediocre with a lot of incredibly predictable and lazy enemy encounters. Like seeing a bunch of red barrels everywhere, combat arena. Fancy futuristic doors that'll totally not automatically close when you walk through it, combat arena. Dead enemies strewn about that'll totally not get up and attack you.
>>740858108OP(faggot) here, I would recommended doubling back and giving Tormented Souls 2 a go at some point. They nailed that atmosphere of PS2/Gamecube-era Resident Evil and Silent Hill so hard, and it's a lot more polished than the first one (which I also enjoyed).
>>740857138>>740856867It's ok but it's ultimately just a worse Dead Space. Combat encounters and level design are way too simple, repetitive, and bland to keep you interested the whole way through.
played it for an hour and it was alright my biggest problem is that it wasn't scary at all felt like a slow tps
If you like Dead Space and the recent REmakes you'll likely have a good time with Cronos as well. It has excellent atmosphere and sound design, the weapon gimmick felt interesting enough, and the ammo scarcity/tight inventory added a bit more of a welcome challenge. My only real complaint is some of the cutscenes are unskippable, something that only matters on repeat playthroughs and could be patched. I really liked it a lot.
>>740856867Interesting world building and premises but the rest is mixed
FPS cuts in half at the most random places, simple hallways and such. Performance is horrid. Gameplay is okish, dead space with limited inventory space so you end up just going back and forth a bunch.
>>740857529
>>740857662Empty symbolism. Just like the little cutscenes between chapters that just rips off the symbolism of Signalis, without any of the underlying meaning in the rest of the game.
>>740856867It's good but the atmosphere of the game starts to get tired. It's like playing Silent Hill but you never leave the otherworld.
>>740857682>kvetching about poles out of nowhereCalm down, lil zigger
>>740856867It was ok. It was decent at the beginning with a bunch of nonsense mystery unraveling. But at the end it really didnt quite stick the landing as you feel the writing team / developer kinda just pissed themselves and stop caring. Gameplay wise it was just just ok. You just charge shot your pistol until stuff dies. ok fun. Didnt really change that much from beginning to end. and endgame weapon was bland considering how cool her armor was. Overall it didnt inspire me that much confidence in the bloober team. They were mostly relying on nostalgia to sell silent hill 2. competent, not exceptional.
>>740856867It's really good imo>>740857358Hu? It play better than classic survival horror. Nu re spoiled you retards
>>740856867It's alright. Gameplay is like Silent Hill 2 remake
>>740857358Ran at like 70fps on my 4070
>>740862290>out of nowhereThey are the developers you raped retard. Here's something everyone in Europe can agree on, best polacks are dead ones.
>https://store.steampowered.com/app/3478700/The_Children_of_Clay/I've only got 10-15min horror game
>>740862882Nah they're cool as long as they're killing r*ssians and g*rmans
>>740856867Yes, it's good. I'd recommend playing on the hard difficulty.
>>740856867I liked it a lot, and while it’s obviously inspired by Dead Space 1, I disagree with the anons claiming it’s just a worse version of that game. The environmental design felt refreshing, the weapons feel great, and it’s not as stressful as DS1 or 2 because it doesn’t rely as heavily on audio spikes. It’s a straightforward action horror TPS without any fluff. >>740862651>Gameplay is like Silent Hill 2 remakeno>>>740857682>the last of usno
