It's the last time any real effort were put into these games - and despite being the start of concerning trends like railroading and too much dialogue, it didn't go overboard yet. Unova as a region has some of the most expansive routes, and by far the most side areas and location variety, especially in b2w2. Combined with the last hurrah of pixel art/low poly and it's very pleasant visually.The main problem, and it's a big one, is that half of the gen 5 dex mons are really, really atrociously ugly, aggressively forgettable, or just clones of better mons. The other half of the dex ranges from good to great.
