I literally don't remember. Some block breaker game on a Commodore 64. But the first game I took seriously with the desire to actually beat was Pool of Radiance on C64. I was only 4 at the time. Needless to say I barely understood what was going on. I wasn't able to actually beat it until I tried to play it again as a teenager.

The game of life. I've been playing it since...I was born. And....it's by my estimation existed for hundreds of millions of years. Let's just say I know how to keep score and I'm winning.

Did you die in the end?

I've never played the original Pong, so probably an old arcade cab of Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, or Space Invaders, if I had to guess. I've played all 3, but I'm not sure which cabinet itself would have reasonably been the oldest at the time.

Everybody posts in hopes of getting nice compliments on their great taste or interesting life experience, which is why these threads get tons of traction despite no one giving a shit about anyone else's posts or responding to them.
Also, ebin joke posts where you imply you're underage or trans or something.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World (1986)
>>
Haunted House for Atari. It's not actually a scary game, it's just annoying and obtuse like most Atari games.

Castlevania one and Megaman one with save states, it was sort of fun but can’t imagine not using save states, Dracula and that yellow guy were hard as shit
>>
Probably a 70s arcade machine that was still lingering in a family restaurant or laundromat when I was a kid

An original Space Invaders cabinet. I've given Pong a shot of course but not on original hardware.

>>740918550
Wait no seeing >>740908829 made me remember, I've actually had a go at Spacewar before. Surprisingly in-depth mechanics for its time.

Spacewar

Fuck, you're right
For whatever reason I thought checkers was an offshoot of one of those ancient board games
