Switch 1 is still getting support and it's about to turn 10 years old. Because of what's happening in the world currently, I suspect the Switch 2 will outlast the Switch 1 and will probably live for 11 or maybe 12 years.

Batteries aren't the main issue for now, it's cost. The technology to make a handheld PS5/XSX is already out there, but there is no way to release such a thing with the current component shortages, at least not at an affordable price.

I would not expect a successor any sooner than 2034, likely later. Nintendo likes keeping successful consoles going as long as they possibly can.
