Why is it so fucking hard to for this franchise to not be complete and utter slop?Bethesda did irreparable damage god damn it, between FO3 and FO4 being absolute fucking BoSwankery and the TV show ruining what extremely minuscle and good F76 had, AND fucking New Vegas retroactively.Fuck off, man.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6qt_70iGk4
>>740914581Fallout 2 was the only game that made charisma good. 1 extra companion for every 2 charisma.
>>740914581Because Bethesda doesn't like making RPGs
>>740914581Good writing is hard. Making memeslop is ez monies
>>740914581Would it have been slop?
>>740915135It's called Fallout 2 because it has 2 builds, a marked improvement on Fallout 1's 1 build.
>>740915651I would have honestly preferred if this actually came out and it was a humiliating flop and the Fallout franchise died forever. Better than what actually happened, at least.
>>740914581(You) kept buying it. You couldn't help yourself. Because despite you saying you know all this, you have the self-control of a baby still helplessly shitting its diaper.
>>740914581Fallout 2's soundtrack is so goodhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzMHvvBqVuYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0M7FAoK3fMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOjvrPLw9Wshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9e84Hyl-bHs
>>740915135You also needed to pass a charisma check to be a porn star.
>>740914581>what extremely minuscle and good F76 hadWhat
>>740915708You could just not play these games you "hate" so much.
>>740915787This
>>740916158I don't, but that doesn't stop them from being a stain on Fallout's legacy. Do you put "hate" in quotes because you're trying to imply that I actually secretly like these games and I just pretend to hate them? I literally cannot come up with a single logical reason for why you would think anyone would ever do that.
>>740914581Yes but we got New Vegas so I'd say it was worth it
>>740914581Interplay raped the IP until it had to be sold to bethesda
>>740916394lamao
>>740914581It was irredeemable dogshit before Bethesda ever bought it. Only reason 90% of the people whining ever heard about it was because of Bethesda buying it.
>>740914581fallout was mediocre to begin with and fallout 2 was just more of the same but with "lol so random xd" and "remember [insert pop culture reference]? that was so cool right?" for most of the game because interplay couldn't actually be bothered to write anything.
>>740916648>It was irredeemable dogshit before Bethesda ever bought itNo it was just a good niche RPG, well the main games were anyway
>>7409156593. Big gun, laser and boootleg kenshiro
>>740916394And also 3. 3 was alright
>>740916720Uhm achtually interplay was the publisher, black isle was the developer! But yes, the constant shitty jokes didn't help the fact that it was a game that was rushed out the door.
>>740916720All WRPGs are mediocre to begin with
Fallout 1 and Fallout New Vegas are the only good games. Fallout 2 is so horseshit that New Vegas writers would rather build upon small FO1 factions (Followers & Crimson Caravans) than touch small FO2 reddit factions (The Shi & New Reno families)
>>740917004Exaggeration. I agree Fallout 1 and New Vegas are overall the best in the series but both 2 and 3 are still good RPGs.
>>740916151the whole ultracite thing is cool, and the enviromental storytelling of many of the locations is bretty goodop is referencing the fact that the fucking nigger from the tv show is now ingame and they added an entire new region (ohio) just to shill for the show, while easily being the worst fucking area in the entire game
>>740917359>the pitt, atlantic city, ohio, west virginia, virginia, and soon dc (leaked next update)Shame about 1st and the horrible MMO mechanics, would've been a nice singleplayer Bethesda run-of-the-mill slop theme park game.
>>740914581I think it's better when a great game stays a standalone title, rather than getting ruined by endless sequels.
>>740918035They really should have patched some of the stuff in Fallout 1, especially the broken ending slides
Has anyone made a game that is actually like Fallout or at most Fallout 2 but with easier modding and some bells and whistles at most?
>>740917359Ohio as an area is good though? The problem is just the fact that they've done fuck-all with it, just like skyline valley, and apparently are already abandoning it just like the valley as well.Well, that and half the displayed map area for it isn't even accessible, and we have no indication it ever will be.
>>740914581For me, there exists only Fallout 1.. and Tactics
no info on fallout 3 remaster, such a shame its my most hyped game this year, and bethesda and todd are up their own asses refusing to talk about it
>>740915651A lot of the stuff sounded really interesting although the main story seemed kinda meh
>>7409170683 is barely an RPG.
>>740915659>Fallout 1's 1 buildWrong.
>>740914581Media illiteracy>Primarily grounded dark post apocalyptic setting with the occasional media reference because the setting itself is a combination of Mad Max, a Boy and his Dog and a bunch of other films/novels>DURRRR I UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY! LETS MAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF RUSTED METAL AND RUBBLE AND HAVE AYYLMAOS EVERYWHERE! DURRRRRRRRRR
>>740914581Anon, the people who own the IP made a setting where 200 years has passed without food or water and the people are all healthy lmao.
>>740921474It's honestly probably the best RPG Bethesda has made. I can tell they actually kinda tried with Fallout 3.
>>740921716What do they eat?
>>740921767Kek
>>740921716Which only tells you how weak their RPGs are then.
>>740915831New Reno soundtrack doesn't hit the same without sounds of random gunshots and violence/sexual assault.
>>740915831All bangers, I love isometric Fallout so much.
>>740914581>Why is it so fucking hard to for this franchise to not be complete and utter slop?>Bethesda
>>740915831Dream Town is probably my favorite or second favorite track from the classic games
>>740914581>Why is it so fucking hard to for this franchise to not be complete and utter slop? For me the only actually annoying thing in the TV show was the fact that Shady Sands was relocated to Los Angeles and turned into a generic town built into the ruins of a city. That random ethnically diverse mud hut town in a 1950's pulp scifi world in the middle of the desert is what defined Fallout and set it apart from all the other Mad Max derivatives. Seeing weird things like that and finding out why they exist is a big part of what made Fallout interesting.
