>the best case in the game is the filler onethat's rough
Been the case since rise from the ashes
But only 4-3 is filler in AJ.4-2 contributes to the main plot by having Apollo decide to work for Wright, and introducing both Trucy and Klavier.
I honestly don't remember a single thing about this case
>>740931583Either 5-3 or the DLC case from 5. I don't really agree for any of the other games.
>>7409317394-3 introduces two characters that end up being crucial to the plot in 4-4
>>740931792Phoenix gets hit by a car, panties and a noodle stand get stolen, a doctor dies and the son of a mafia boss is accused. His former nurse gf did it and she's a ho>>740931739And Ema
>>740931906Actually fair. AJ has no complete filler.
>>740931914Kino
>>740932159It's not the worst thing you will get out of AA that's for sure. That would be the next case.
>>740931951Is there any case that is completely filler? 2-1 is the closest thing I can think of, maggey comes back in other cases but she kind of remains inconsequential
>>7409330422-3 has zero bearing on the overall plot.
>>7409330422-3 and 3-3 as far the first trilogy goes.
>>7409330973-3 is weird because it establishes that Godot was colorblind and his visor glows in the dark which are crucial elements for the final case, but the actual case itself has no bearing on the overarching plot.
Trucy is incredibly sexy
>>740931583c'mon, that's hardly without precedenteven in OG detective stories goofy shit like The Adventure of the Three Garridebs was often better than serious cases
>>740933080>>740933097if you skip 2-3 franziska is only there for one caseactually that doesn't sound like a bad idea
>>740933080Not in its own game but the circus does return in Investigations 2
>>740933540It's more than AJ's overarching plot is a mess and phoenix wright completely overshadows apollo
The Apollo-Trucy connection has got to be the most contrived thing in this entire series. Some random newbie lawyer defending his disbarred idol in court makes sense, but then it turns out that said defendant also happens to have adopted his long-lost sister and they somehow by chance end up in the same courtroom after having never met each other and living on opposite ends of the globe for years? And then they go on to defend their mother in court, again by nearly complete chance, whom neither of them are aware that she's their mother and also never get told that and the fact that they're related? It seems like they wanted to make everything "connected" like in the earlier games but didn't bother to give a real reason why Apollo and Trucy would actually end up coming together outside of coincidence. I know a lot of people like Trucy but I feel like AA4 would've been better if it was just Phoenix tutoring Apollo, but I guess the games would feel weird to play without a teenage girl assistant. At least everything in the original trilogy kinda comes back to DL-6, but there's no real reason to explain the events of Apollo Justice other than just "fate".
>>740934246Didn't Phoenix pick Apollo as his attorney because he met Thalassa and learned that she was his and Trucy's mother? Or did their meetup happen later?
>>740934423He picked Kristoph as his attorney because he knew Kristoph was actually the culprit of that case and was behind his disbarment, I think Apollo was just there by chance. I don't really get how he would also be able to figure out that Thalassa was Apollo's mom given everything that happened in Kurha'in, but figuring out she was Trucy's mom makes sense if Phoenix looked into the Gramaryes' history.
>>740931583I'd filler, if you catch my drift.
>>740933554She's also in 2-4 but only shows up in the trial at the very end. And 3-5 of course.Franny doesn't actually get that many cases, but I guess it's more than her own dad.
>>740935257>Franny doesn't actually get that many casesCapcom HATES her
>>740935359She got unlucky because of GBA cart memory restrictions. 3-3 was supposed to be a Franny case but had to be discarded and repurposed in T&T.
>>740934423>>740934626Phoenix and Apollo being linked through Kristoph seems like complete chance. Phoenix got targeted by Kristoph for revenge when Zak Gramarye passed on him as his lawyer in favor of Phoenix, then Apollo applied to Kristoph's law firm because he wanted to become a defense attorney like Dhurke and also admired Phoenix. Phoenix says in the flashback part of 4-4 that he had seen Apollo a few times at Kristoph's office while he was still training but I didn't get the impression he already knew he was Lamiroir's son.
>>740935359The Miles games give her more time to shine at least
>>740935359Me too
>>740931583>the best case in the game is the filler one4-1 is the best case of the entire second trilogy. It peaks at Apollo defending Phoenix then falls all immediately after that
>>740936717You mean phoenix defending himself while apollo says "yes mr wright"
>>740934246I feel like 3 is where Shu went full retard with the coincidences. The series went downhill from there.
>>740931583In 4 it definitely wasn't. But in 6 yeah, second case is the best case.
>>740935497>2-3 and 3-3 in the same gameI'm not sure how to feel about that
>>740931583I've been attending this girl's magical show. I'm fascinated by her panties.
>>740937763What kind of "magical show" are we talking about here
>>7409375272-1 feels less disconnected if maggey reappears in the same game
>>740934246The most contrived thing is Apollo's three completely separate backstories1. The thalassa and trucy thing2. childhood living in khurain that he completely forgot about3. childhood hanging out at the astronaut centerthat all ended up being the focus of each one of his games
>>740931583The fuck is this? Did professor layton get hat kid preggers?
>>740931583her case in aa6 was my favorite
>>740939275Trucy at her youngest looks a lot like Hat Kid, that was my immediate impression upon seeing her in this case
>>740939885It really helps that the culprit in 2-6 gave off first game vibes where any one of the culprits (Minus the first case) gave off final boss vibes. And If the assistant didn't fuck up the trick there would have been no evidence to prove he tampered with the murder scene to incriminate him.
>>740931583she has really cute porn
>>740940556>2nd case of game 6I don't think that annotation style works for this seriesBut yes Roger was an excellent villain
>>740931583I dont like any of the story cases. The filler ones are my favorites because they have nothing to do with the main characters personal lives.
>>740940726It was a typo
>>740931792There's a jap that wears a ramen bowl as a hat.
>>740940923Never mind then
>>740940780My biggest problem with filler cases is that they all usually suck compared to plot cases. I don't mind filler cases, it makes sense that every case shouldn't be connected to some overarching plot, but unfortunately they're almost always just bad.
>>740931583... Y'know, even by Ace Attorney standards, Phoenix adopting a teenage magician is certainly a thing that happens.
AA7 when?
>>740942106Very soon, I feel it in my bones.
In a few days it's going to be time to do this for real>>740934246It's sadly the sign that Takumi can only tell one story with this format,on one hand another game could've very well given proper explanations. On the other hand, there was zero reason to not just make a self contained, fully explained story when 1 did so easily, 4 was either clearly set up for a big overarching narrative at its core that never got resolved due to capcom mismangement, or the guy honestly had no plan or heart put into the game and was just writing what came to mind, I'd say it's the former with that said although again I'd say 4's biggest point of critic is that it's super by the numbers for a formula that was getting old by it's point while trying to pretend that it wasn't.>>740940556It also helps that they aren't (as) over the top in design or behavior combined with deciding to address the elephant in the room about the troupe being kinda jerks and letting Trucy show vulnerability which helps make her feel more three dimensional.
>>740941075Turnabout samurai was kino
>>740941075For me it really depends, I don't really care about the case being filler or not. Biggest example being in AA6 where I loved case 2 but I found case 4 to be both boring, and my least favourite one of the game if we're not counting the dlc.
>>740935359>>740942106They turned her into a whore.
>>740942595she'll whip anyone who even looks at her, so it's okay
>>740943114Is that supposed to dissuade me from looking at her?
>>740942106 The series is dead...
>>740942595What would Manfred think if he saw her dressing like that?
>>740942595>she wants me to hold her beltlewdor maybe it is her way of remembering nick
>>740944879240p quality, kino
>>740945103He seemed like a good father, so he wouldn't want his daughter to give the impression she's a cheap whore.
>>740944879overhatedbut i admit I'm retarded and couldn't spot the contradiction
>>740948415Just watch it again
>>740948574i mean when i first played it
