I was born in 99, so gen 4 was THE generation for me growing up. I had diamond an platinum but i dont think i really like gen 4 if i can be honest.
I also had acces to pokemon red growing up because of my brother, and honestly i think i had more fun with that than gen 4.

Never played gen 3, but i have a feeling i would love that gen the most

People heavily anticipated it for a while, because they wanted to see the Sinnoh region and the whole Giratina event done with the modern Pokemon graphics. Why wouldn't people be upset that the overworld looked like a higher res version of the DS game? It could have looked like X/Y's world, and people would have been happy.

It's DP with some QoL which is actually really nice, I definitely enjoyed more than the actual new games. The problem is the game is just ugly as sin and I don't think anyone can ignore that.

'97 here. I enjoyed gen 4, particularly Platinum and HGSS when those came out, but I don't really have the same fondness for gen 4 like I do with gens 3 and 5.
