Hollow is the most polished in my opinion but you can start with frontier easily, i just wouldn't reccomend gaia as a first one because its gameplay is so heavily out of your favor and the h-scenes is largely focused on the egg birthing niche. Usually the law route is a bit easier than the chaos route and its a good idea to pay attention to the new stuff an entry adds like hollow adds a lot of end of turn and beginning of battle damage effects and the chaos final boss will absolutely wipe your squads if you don't know how to deal with that effectively. The main way to get better gear is to make dedicated squads with units that have the treasure hunt and bounty hunt skills and stacking those numbers as high as possible.

I know I can make an OK game in RPGmaker, renpy, or godot. but the idea of people being able to get their hands on my shitty code is not something is something i want. so I started developing my own thing with code. so wish me luck.
