There was a rpg2k(?) rpg where you kill god...the frog is a side companion but it's optional..it says in the readme.txt it got ported from Japan..Before you god takes revenge on mankind you've a quiz on the meaning of life. what is this lost media...any ideas?
I'm playing FF7. Why is it such a pain to navigate the map with the buggy jesus christ how the fuck do I go back with this thing
my first SaGa game and it's really fucking hard, they're not all like this right?
>>740967013That opening theme is a real earworm.
You should play Star Ocean 'kay
It's just the same Enel trooncord that's spamming here for a decade why would this he any different?
>>740969884Loved the game but I have no idea how the devs were able to create a loli that a legit pedophile (me) absolutely hates. Can't stand Lymle.
I only play Hentai JRPGs now
Xenoblade 2 is the best game ever created it makes all other games obsolete
>>740970213Xenoblade 2 was just okay. 7/10 for me. I really enjoyed the Xenosaga games though.

Is the bundle with the first 2 parts of the FFVII remake worth 25 bucks?I have accepted it's not the Final Fantasy VII I remember but is there anything good in there?
>>740972056You're ripping off my thread template so I'm just trying to help you out for the next time, lilbro.
>>740972351Absolutely, best experienced before the release of Revelation
>>740969630If you're struggling with a fake SaGa game you're not gonna bother with the real ones
>>740972404Maybe try fucking off elsewhere and not spamming your shitty "general" thread here daily.
I'm cautious of getting into the VII remake games because I just know after Revelations comes out they'll do some sort of updated version of the games that backports features or something. My soul is screaming to me to wait five more years.
>>740972858It's not like the games are gonna be any better if you play them now instead of later
>>740972351What bundle? I only see each on sale on steam for 20 bucks each. Also a question, I have the first part on epic games store, do you get the carry over stuff if I were to buy part 2 on steam? Is it even worth anything? It looks like all it is is Ramuh and Leviathan summon materia. Do none of your stats and shit carry over between games?
>>740970190Where's my Fumika Fantasy 2???>>740971645Fire Emblem isn't a JRPG

Is Tales of Eternia really that good? Also English Patch for Xenosaga Piedpiper when?
>>740974786Its okay. Was originally called tales of destiny 2 in the west because japan thought westerners were stupid and it was the second game localized. Probably my 4th or 5th favorite tales game.
I'm close to finishing Chrono Trigger, and really enjoyed it. What JRPG should I play next if I love the Xeno series, FFVII and SMT DDS?
>>740974786https://cyclonefox.itch.io/xenosaga-pied-piper
>>740974974I beat the Pied Piper remake, did anyone else enjoy it? I really liked the story, and the gameplay foundations are fine considering it's just XS3, but I think it was way too easy and there wasn't enough time for the skill line to be relevant.
>>740973461This game is way too long. After 100 hours I had to go back in time or some shit and I dropped it right there
Which Nep games (if any) have fun gameplay?I seriously doubt the story is deep enough to REQUIRE you to play them in order so I just want to play the ones that are fun

>>740969630Any problem in that game can be overcome by using Mist Cover, Self-Immolation and party-wide shield spells, Divine Wall formation, but I may just be biased, and abusing the fuck out of the Berserk martial arts tech.
I'm mostly talking into the void since there's maybe 50 people in the west who have played this game and at least half of them are antisocial jops but this was a true 1 of 1 experience, absolutely loved it Minor criticism is that while I think the story does a good job setting up the conflict, the finale does feel a little bit rushed and there's not enough time to make you connect with the mom reincarnating as a teenager in alt reality to save her child from a premature death plotline but the ending still hits home
>>740976982It's in my backlog
>>740976982>terrible, overrated story trash that overstays its welcome bolted onto garbage default rpg maker 2000 battles>sludgelation reads like absolute dog's ass because Patchy Dogshit Team are a bunch of dekinai retards who couldn't pass the fucking N5, let alone translate any of the shit they touchI'm tired of this game getting rated so goddamn highly when it's one of the most absolutely abysmal slogs of the century. Maybe this shit was some kind of monumental achievement back in 2007 or something but it absolutely does not hold up against even the most mediocre RPG Maker releases of the subsequent decade.

>>740977816Are they different gameplay-wise or was there something else you hated about Rebirth?I sort of assumed they were more or less the same thing split into parts to make as much money as possible
>>740978102The pacing in Rebirth takes a nosedive. Even if you ignore pretty much all the side content it's bad. Scenes that should take 10 seconds can stretch on for minutes.
>>740975583Could see that a mile away.
>>740978102to echo that guy, the pacing i really fucking horrible. And you are actively gimping yourself by ignoring side content, which if you partake in makes the pacing even worse.
>>740978967>>740980053I see...I unironically love side quests and silly shit but this sounds like a problem. I'll read up more on exactly what -kind- of side content you are talking about before I pull the trigger. For 25 bucks the problem wouldn't even be the money, it's more about the space these fucking games take, and the time I would be using on them.
>>740980548It would be fine if they just left most of them as you know, side content, but it's so in your face every time with a >hey, while you're here you should think about, actually plan to even, be here for a while and do all of these minigames

>>740981271Xanadu Next is great, although I personally prefer Revival Xanadu. Earlier Ys games are pretty short fun ARPGs. I could never really get the same bump combat fix again except from the first Xak on MSX2, with games like Lagoon falling a little short. Etrian Odyssey is good, although I've only played the first one. If the later games are even just as good I would assume they're worth playing. Any good?
>>740987154>>740987116Oh wait, shit. Sorry. Hadn't played in a long time, and my memory was fuzzy. The cracked version of the game only works with a 360 controller. I couldn't run it through steam with controller support and had to use the native Xbox 360 controller for compatibility.
>>740987250only as far as leveling up lots of different jobs is fun, but the game itself wasn't good enough to convince me to finish
>>740987154Hate to be the "works on my machine" guy but I'm playing through it right now with a wired 8bitdo controller. Plug and play too, I didn't install their gay little software or anything.

>>740987289>>740987398Now, I was also running the game on Linux, so I can't verify how it goes on Windows. I just know I couldn't get that shit to work after attempting it over a few days.
>>740987490How do you play cracked games on Linux? Lutris?Like I said, I haven't pirated anything in a long time but I'm curious. All I play on Linux is through Steam/Proton
>>740987603After you've installed the crack, you could play it through a launcher of choice. I usually add the game to steam. If you want steam input, you would do the latter. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the game to launch through Steam, so I had to just try to run it with Wine. it worked, but no Steam Input meant I was stuck with the 360 controller or M/KB. I had purchase the game, so I could just play it via Steam, albeit with Denuvo. In loading the game up again, I can see thattThe PC version is still kind of borked. I think the game speed is tied to resolution, and my launch options to lock the framerate don't seem to work.
P3R is still uncracked? I thought some new cracker busted denuvo even without the hypervisor stuff.
>>740988367Yeah but he's constantly working on the newest big game to come out, doesn't seem like he's gonna have time to do all of the backlog of Denuvo games unless he can somehow automate the process or teach other people
I'm 11 hours into FF16. I like it a fair bit. >>740987250It's good, not great. I didn't finish it.
>>740981271Stories 1 and 2 are unironically amazing games. BF4 is an awful port and you cant change the button prompts or anything also a fuckton of DRM.
Which one of these should i play? I have played all except for Ryza, Octopath 2, P5 Strikers, both touhou games, eternights, Etrian Odyssey 3, Like a dragon(but i'm leaving that for later because i want to play all yakuza games in order), Metaphor and tales of arise
Oh, I didn't realize there was already a JRPG thread.Have you guys played any of these?
>>740992512Not even one. I am interested though in most of them. Is Dragon Quest VIII for the ps2 i think? I was looking for a certain DQ game for the ps2 which came in a disc as a demo, and i fucking loved it as a kid. Couldn't get my hands on the whole game though :(
>ComfyI demand an uncomfy bread
>>740992512I played Dragon Quest VIII back when it was released and I fucking LOVED it, it was the first time in years I felt as invested in a JRPG as I was when I was a little kid. >>740992772Just did a quick search and indeed it is a ps2 game. Words can't describe how jealous i am of you who got to experience it on the ps2 as a kid, i got only a demo but it wasn't popular at all in my country so couldn't find it.

>>740993170So, considering it released in 2004, you're pushing 40? I was just 8-9 yo at the time, i got the demo from the Playstation 2 magazine. I loved the art style, it looked like magic at the time. After many years, i played XI S and even though it was comfy it was nowhere near VIII's comfiness. I hope they release it on PC someday
>>740978102>gameplay-wiserefined and perfected, and Stranger of Paradise did that too, so don't worry at all about the rest characteristics, except a bit about the pacing, but you are already aware...Revelation must be a monumental masterpiece if you think about it a second.

>>740973437Nigga so you've never played any other Suikoden game?
>>740966968
I wrote a huge post about both games but accidentally hit the wrong button so the whole thing was eaten I think... in any event if open to indies and like SNES-era inspired JRPGs, I highly suggest both games by Something Classic >Shadows of Adam>Quartet Both have native Linux support (the first releasing years before the Deck and Proton, so it was really some effort on their part to support Linux when it was more niche) and the pic is from Quartet. Highly recommend them both. SoA is not exactly groundbreaking as it was their first major game, but it is very competent and enjoyable and there's a lot to do. Goes on sale for like 60%+ off, and you can get the Complete Edition which comes with the expansion (definitely worth it) and a retro-style digital strategy guide, for like $7 or something, but even the $15-20 full prices I'd say its worthwhile for what you get out of it, but if you want to wait for a sale its a good discount. Quartet is much more recently released (not even a year ago I do'n't think) and its vastly expanded; many compare it to Octopath Traveler because you have varying vignettes and the protags of each come together but unlike OT1 (not sure about others) the characters interact when they eventually meet up. Mechanics have a neat active/inactive element in combat where you can use a standard turn action to rotate one of your inactive party members into ongoing combat in exchange for an active one . Overall very well done and its 1800s to early 1900s 'magitek' setting is a bit different than most fantasy JRPGs or the like. Sales aren't quite as big since its a lot newer, but I think you can get it for like 25% off so its close to $15 or so when on sale; the devs also seem to be adding some content in each patch, not sure if they're going to do a DLC expansion or not though. Both games I think well worth the time
>>740992512Ninokuni is terrible. Actual gameplay and story are shit, graphics and style are great but the music was also a miss for me though some might like it. Not recommended. Dropped/10.

>>740994123>Inspired by FFVI Yeah, that's clearly a part of it like many other SNES era JRPGs, but way you can choose which character's story you want to start with and then move along completing their chapters etc. lead many to think of Octopath. >Wild west magitekBut its not. I already mentioned its magitek, but there's also a good bit of Europe. The(super)boss in the prologue/history bit is obviously Napoleonic era inspired, and as you can see the by names in the screenshot, there's a good bit of European inspiration. One character's starting vignette makes international relations a central issue, as well as how each country chooses to allow magic (or not) use and who';s allowed to do what.
Thoughts on Sea of Stars? Looks like Chained Echoes, which i really liked.
>>740994517I don't mind that, I actually kinda want something that's more gameplay focused rather than story focused after finishing some eroge lol. I heard the mecha take a long time to get?
>>740994315I wondered why it looked like a PC-98 game until I found out the DOS version was a port.
>>740992512Played everything here except Star Ocean. DQ8, Nocturne and TWEWY easily beat out the rest for me. Ninokuni and Lost Odyssey are meh. The rest are pretty good.I should get around to trying the other Star Oceans. I loved 1 and 2 but the rest of them sound really polarizing.
>>740993780DQ1 is a short and simple classic that anyone can enjoy. You can't go wrong with it.DQ2 is a personal favorite but there's some weirdness, like "how was I supposed to know that was a false wall," and an endgame enemy that will cast the Sacrifice spell if certain conditions are met, killing itself and wiping out your entire party.DQ3 is an absolute classic and one of the best in the series. It's one of the most acclaimed games in the series to this day.DQ4 is a weird one where you only fully control one character, and everyone else is computer-controlled, and they sometimes make highly questionable decisions. There's a guy who's supposed to be a healer, but all he ever does is cast the instant death spell "Thwack," and it never works.DQ5 is a storytelling masterpiece that follows your character from birth, through marriage, and into parenthood. It has the best collection of girls too.And DQ8 is obviously the series finally leaping into fully-explorable 3D, with a great soundtrack. It also features one of my favorite DQ girls, Jessica, but I won't tell you why.
>>740994458Eh, I greatly prefer PC; if you wanted the Switch 2 specifically then yeah, it takes importing or jumping through hoops to create a JP region store account etc.. Its really frustrating that SQueenix basically just ported the censored version to everywhere on PC (even if you switch it to JP audio or text etc), but thankfully this mod fixes the issues. I was a little worried because there wasn't an update for awhile, but just today it was updated again and addeed a bunch of new things including NPCs etc. Looks like the only thing yet to do is the Eastern War Garb for Ringabel but all the rest is finished; I'm pretty sure the dev will complete it all on their way.

>>740966968Playing Nights of Azure, one of the older Gust games. Surprisingly runs very well on Windows 11, no issues whatsoever. Also, it's fully voiced and even has a fair amount of motion capture, like this dance. Pleasantly surprised. The combat is action based with 4 minions, think real time Persona.
>>740975149lmao same, go to every region for the 3rd time is where I dropped it, enough is enough, the credits rolled already anyway
>>740987250Terrible boilerplate story, but the combat is very difficult and lots of fun if you're into making builds, the job system is very robust, and each boss will be a wall, and there are tons of them, the soundtrack is really good too
>>740995112story is not good in any octopath game. it's simply not the main draw.
Etrian Odyssey on standard is comfy. I don't think expert is comfy at all.
>>740995143that's BD2 not OT2. granted you might just be trolling but I'd still take BD2 lackluster main cast than OT2 disconnected cast.

>>740994198>surely, if we censor our game MORE people will buy itI'll never understand the point of censorship like this. You just risk turning away potential customers for what? Social media pats on the back?
>>740994726True, but I wouldn't describe a game inspired by and set in fantasy Meiji Japan as "Victorian" setting despite the time period being technically correct. Though the game has a bunch of historical inspirations though and they're used well. >>740994797I had hoped that playing it on PC with the JP region text/UI + voice settings would also be natively uncensored, but I think they just sort of cheaped out - there were some Japanese players complaining about this too. As far as the censorship, I actually made undub and decensor patches for the 3DS versions (and Bravely Second) back in the day - the original version didn't support JP audio for NA release either, but that was supposed to be because of game cart storage limitation. For the HD remaster, they at least let JP audio be included as they know people like that, but I do wish they would have just decensored everything especially given they tweaked the ages up just like before (in the original JP 3DS version, Japan actually had 2 versions confusingly named, and the Western version is based on the later one with more content. All playable characters except one, including both girls, were under 18 in the early JP variant so I'm sure that's why they censored all the revealing outfits for the western 3DS version), but with everyone 18+ for the remake across the board they had no reason to worry about accusations of revealing clothing on minors in the west etc I think it was a lucky break you could import the JP version on Switch 2 but its not like they even gave an official Western accessible version that was uncensored. I'm still glad it came to PC and that there's a decensor mod, but with Steam distribution its not like they even had to worry about global ratings or anything else that you'd need for console platform launches, boxed or otherwise.
>>740995230>>740995265Kinda cute that zoomers think Steam/Valve has some spyware running in the background constantly scanning your files and they will ban your account if the checksum doesn't match.I mean, if this was a thing, you wouldn't be able to mod any game, ever.
>>740994627Thanks for that info :)
>>740995380That's a totally different culture though and Japan was a literal culturally and socially isolated country, completely different vibe. Wild West and Napoleon is basically:>These guys in the frontier city of our empire.>Our guys in middle of civilization fucking each other over for dominance of the mainland sandbox.
>>740976982>antisocial jopsI feel called outI only played the original for a few hours some years ago but I was impressed. Possibly the most ambitious 2k game, more even than Serablue
>>740995301falling into the trap of deciding that what people who are not your paying customers think matters in any shape or form.
>>740995301In this case, I think its a combination of both >Squeenix being told by lolcowlizer-type consultants that the West thinks everything is problematic >Laziness in the porting and global release The issue for the game as I wrote above went back to the 3DS versions long before culture war faggotry was all over social media in the same way, but for the Remaster (which is actually done well aside from the censorship issue), so I think it was a matter of something like >I just want to have a single version to release on Steam to make it easy >We already made the Western Switch 2 version to release globally that takes out all the shit that could make people have a tantrum, lets go with that. as it wasn't like the uncensored bits were active in the Japanese version (though I've been told that some of the assets in at least one outfit's case ARE in the game files but unused. Sadly this was not the case for all the textures or else it would have been so much easier and faster to mod), so JP players on PC got screwed too. Hopefully all these companies are starting to get the message- just on Steam's forums alone there were many topics about the censorship that were offputtting, along with how long it took to come to PC. Frankly, Bravely Default (and bravely second for that matter) should have been HD Remastered and released on Steam BEFORE Bravely Default II, but at this point I'm glad it got here at all rather than having to jump through the hoops of emulation and necessary hacks to get around lack of 3DS online connectivity. The HD Remaster's version is actually much better and expanded vs the 3DS in that regard . The Switch 2 exclusivity for a time didn't help either, so between the delay and the censorship I really hope SQEX doesnt say that the PC version didnt "meet expectations" or something. Still, overall the PC I think is easily the best version of Bravely Default now, and w/ the decensor mod the last issue resolved.
>>740995301Not sure if this is bait but, the vast majority of people won't care about minor outfit changes like this, and you avoid the sexy kid in a thong situation, so it's a win-win.
>>740969884I just beat this last monthThis dude's stupid amount of 00's style edginess carried everything else in the game like crazyI also finished 1 a couple weeks ago and that was really goodNow I'm playing 2R and 5 and I think 5 is pretty fun so far

>>740978102The pacing is much slower. Rebirth covers from Kalm to City of the Ancients. Even when it skips Rocket Town and Wutai it sill meanders a lot. Comfy thread. I'm making my way through FF Tactics right now, think I'm nearly done, I just beat Zalera. I've also got new game plus to Persona 3 Reload to finish for the platinum and the post game on E33. Then maybe I'll try and finish Metaphor? It didn't really grab me when I tried it out last year. I just built a new PC so any more graphically intensive recs would be welcome. I already played Remake and Rebirth, and FFXVI. >>740996985>WOFF I've not played it myself but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

>>740997236You could be right but I want to thing the massive pacing problems was because of the whole shipping drama So far it looks like it could be more like trails where you have events of the characters as optional (no bonding point shit)
>>740997302Remaking the first 1+2 Persona games would make sense for Atlus since that's an untapped market considering P3 essentially rebooted the series.

>>741007470And so much more as GOD himself intended
>>740969630I hate to break it to you anon but this might genuinely be the single easiest game in the series. Not that it's easy mind you just relatively easiest.
>>741007445it's like a blend of 3 and 6. the space battle scenes are great and there are tonnes of quests. item creation is pretty streamlined. your entire roster of characters also participate in battle.
>>740975714XBC3 is by far the worst game in the series. Nobody but contrarians like it. I've seen more people base their opinion of it based on seething about 2 than I have anyone that genuinely likes it.
>>741007591That...doesn't sound bad at all honestly.
>>740992512I only played the 2nd TWEWY but I got bored and ended up dropping it. >>741007658my guess is that 4 is better so people were disappointed but i haven't played 4
>>7410077714 has that annoying, monotone potato, but I heard the battle system is good.

>>741008723Zero/Azure are obviously the most relevant since Crossbell is getting shoved down your throat for the next three games. But you should really play all the previous games if you're sticking with it.

>>740969630Anon... That's the easiest SaGa...Anyway i recently fisnisged replaying Secret of Mana Remake, and i must say, even to this day the Mana Beast is a God Tier Final Boss even though it isn't really hard and is kinda gimmicky. It is just so soulful, especially since SoM is such a simple game....Does it even could as a JRPG? It was kinda babbys first Action RPG.
>>741007632I like 3's sidequests alot more then 1&2's and i liked chain attacking alot more in 3, the class system in 3 is also alot more enjoyable to interact with then 1 and 2's equivalent mostly because they end up being mostly equipment. But if you don't like tuning that sort of stuff i can understand why someone wouldn't like it.
>>741008884Dragon Quest before 7>>741009409Classes felt lame in 3, I liked the more XB1 like preset characters in the DLC story better

Ok bros, what 90s JRPG should I play before I start the 2000s? So far I've beaten:>FF1-8>DQ 1-6>Tales of Phantasia>SMT I and II>Phantasy Star I-IV>FFA, Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana>Earthbound>Chrono Trigger>Ys series>SMRPG>Live a LiveI attempted Star Ocean but I didn't really enjoy it so I won't be playing those games. Same for Tales but I managed to push through and KILL DHAOS. I was thinking maybe Atelier Marie, or perhaps Persona 1. Am I missing any other essentials? No SRPGs, I do not have the patience for them so no Fire Emblem.
>>741010745>Star WarsThey raped and killed that IP too. Nobody gave a fuck about the Disney plus show they shat out in theaters.
>>741006550Depends on the game. I'll usually do post-game stuff so long as it doesn't involve absurd amounts of grinding (and even then I might do it if I enjoy the game enough and the grinding process itself is fun in some way.)>>741006646RS2 is actually one of the easier ones to get into, since it provides the player with an overarching goal right at the start and guidance on what you can try to achieve at any given moment. Some entries have character choices where you are basically just dumped into the middle of the world and left to figure out everything for yourself.

Trying to decide between DQ7 Reimagined, Sky 1st Chapter Remake, or Mon Hun Stories 3I never played the original DQ7 and am heavily intrigued by the remakeThe original Sky trilogy is an all time favorite of mine so it kind of be a replay with a fresh coat of paintand I haven't played MHS1/2 but enjoyed the demo for 3, gameplay was fun but I hear mixed things on how the story eventually plays out
>>741012250I think you should consider giving Star Ocean 2 a try even if you disliked the first one. SO2 is why most people give a shit about the series.Atelier Marie isn't a bad choice. The SaGa and Metal Max games are also worth checking out, as is Valkyrie Profile.Terranigma is interesting. The Suikoden series is decent, especially if you like having a ton of characters to choose from, but tends to be pretty slow paced. Koudelka's combat system is a bit of a mess, but it's worth checking out if the plot, characters, and setting can carry a game for you.
never played any JRPG's only CRPG'swhat are the best ones to play, should be easy available on PC.
>>741012557RS2 does have the imperial ministers who tell you what is going on around the world at any given moment but you're not given any info on how the quests can actually be solved, unless you're playing the demake which has full on handholding at all times and plays itself.Other SaGa games don't necessarily nudge you towards quests like RS2 does but on average they don't have nearly as much branching and player input as RS2 does either so they're actually easier because you don't have to worry about multiple choices and fail states, only Minstrel Song, Emerald Beyond and maybe Scarlet Grace are like that and the latter two don't even have real fail states.

>>741014895but dq sucks (i still havent played a single dq game)
>>740966968why aren't (You) making your own dream JRPG?
>>741015076If you didn't understand that you need to talk to bunny girls when you were looking for info I don't know what to tell you, I also don't see how that is different from RS2 doing the same exact things or worse. The game doesn't tell you how to unlock the hidden passage through the castle before Thomas gets kidnapped, it doesn't tell you that you can avoid the kidnapping entirely with some specific choices before Cyfreed's guards take Thomas back, you can also completely skip all the aforementioned stuff by not going into Cumberland as soon as the quest opens up so the questline already starts into the full civil war route, or you can accidentally end up in the civil war route by either getting out of Cumberland outside of the specific grace periods the quest gives you or by simply getting your party wiped out before the martial law starts, and there's even more convoluted shit than this in RS2 because that's how SaGa works.

>>741035528MS=RS2=SG>SF>RS3>SF2The other two aren't SaGa games>>741037874Start however you want, the old GB games are pretty archaic and SaGa 3 is not a SaGa game but you can play the DS remake later if you want to see how the real SaGa 3 would play like
>>741038738>SaGa 3 is not a SaGa gameWhat is the story behind this? Kinda curious
>>741038738TLR is a SaGa game tho. Just not in name.
I really really want to play a DRPG, but they're either very expensive or not good.
>>741038936After SaGa 2 came out Kawazu and his team moved onto making the first Romancing SaGa on SNES, but Squaresoft executives of the time really wanted another gameboy game since the first two games printed an absolute shitload of money.Kawazu refused because he wasn't interested in making yet another gameboy game and RS1 development already started, the greedy suits ignored him and pushed the project onto another team anyway, the same team that would later go on to develop Final Fantasy Mystic Quest and Rudra No Hihou, as a result SaGa 3 doesn't play or feel like the rest of the series and just sorta recycles random stuff from the previous games, in fact it has a lot more in common with Mystic Quest.Later on Kawazu personally remade SaGa 3 on the NDS and turned it into a real SaGa game, imo it's still kinda worth to play OG SaGa 3 because outside of being too short to waste your time it's a good example of what happens when a creator is forcefully stripped out of development and a series loses its identity, the Romancing SaGa 2 remake is a repeat of that.
>>741029503Raidou is piss easy for better or worse. Your demons will still just stunlock everything if you give them as wide of a spread of attack elements as possible.
Currently replaying dq8 but the DS remake this time on emulator.Dq games are weird since they're extremely easy and you can first try every boss without breaking a sweat but then suddenly you hit a story boss that feels numerically impossible with your current gear/stats.For dq8 it's the first dhoulmagus encounter with the 2 stage boss fight. I reloaded the fight 10 times via save states until I decided to grind and buy better gear and also looked up if I was mossing something obvious. Turns out I was like 5 levels below what people online recommend. But I never even struggled with any boss before that so I never realised I was underlvled. I guess being able to just walk around encounters a lot in this version of the game robs you of too much xp for the convenience
>>741011212Enchant Farm on Quick Mode+Tactical with no carrying over anything.
>>741041625Look up the alchemy pot recipe for a Cheiron bow and put it in Angelo's bag even if he's not using bows. Using it as an item heals everyone for 30-40. Or level up enough on metal slimes to get Multiheal and cruise through the fight. Dhoulmagus and one later boss can be a bit of a HP check, especially if you get a bad turn with his Snooze or War Cry spam.
what if JRPG that combine the junction+gambit+paradigm mechanics?will it work?or will there be too much time on the menu in prep time alone? Haha
>>740994942>"one of the older Gust games">look up the release dateStop it
>>741042012>what if a JRPG plays itselfSnoozefest.
>>740987839>the game speed is tied to resolutionI meant frame rate.>>740996190>went to gamestop the other day>chick at the counter asks me for a recommendation after I traded my game in>realize that the games I like aren't widely appealing, and I couldn't give an easy recommendation>mfwIf I go back sometime soon, I'll just tell her to try Trails in the Sky remake or something. What do you recommend to Square and Persona fans?
>>741042481it won't play itself when you need to keep shuffling gambits and refreshing that depleted ATB bar while junctioning certain stats will unlock gambit abilities but yeah a lot of time in the menu a sure win for some tho
>>741042852all 3 mechanics in isolation has certain flaws but combined they complement and solved each others' weaknesses
>>740992512>Ni No KuniLooked boring. I skipped it.>SMT3Haven't dived into SMT much.>VesperiaBroken on PC, didn't get far.>Lost OdysseyHad it for years, but I never play my 360, so it sat.>Trails in the SkyNever played the original. Only played the Gargharv series. I have the remake now.>Star Ocean Last HopeI can't play it without issues.>Bravely DefaultCompleted the demo, but I skipped the full game. Maybe one day I'll give it a try, but I doubt it. II's demo I couldn't even finish. It was boring.>DQVIIExcellent game. Never finished my fisticuff run.>TWEWYAlso excellent game.
