>>741032034I'm doing a new NV playthrough and am using Famine + Harder Barter + balanced discounts to make the game harder on the economy side, that trio of mods are pretty popular if you want to make getting rich less trivial in NV.Also the usual Mojave Raiders/Wildlife/NPCs to add more shit to kill and some enemy rebalance mods to make raiders, Super Mutants and ghouls more interesting to fight. Things like having raider gangs get unique buffs (vipers use poison weapons like mentioned in the Fallout Bible, Fiends get random chem buffs), making Super Mutants be tougher to kill and use heavy weapons more and making ghouls heal with radiation more and do radiation damage to you on hit.Also I'm trying out two location mods called Mojave Scenery Overhaul and Revised Mojave that add a ton of locations and buildings, especially around New Vegas. So far they're actually pretty well made and balanced, much better than previous ones I've tried, but installing Revised Mojave was a bit of a pain as you need a copy of FO3 GOTY edition installed on your PC, since that mod uses a lot of assets from it. Using Viva New Vegas as a base for stability, but instead of using Aqua Fria as the JSawyer fork I'm using Dead Hand.Also have tons of other mods that tweak other things and improve the graphics and animations, but I'd say the ones above are the core.So far it's been pretty fun.

Ironically, I preferred to only use the radio in combat, while wandering around I just left to the ambient music. Once you're outside of the city, there's a lot of areas which just feel dead and barren, with your only companions being dry grass, dead trees, unsettling music and paranoia. Even if somehow they convinced Bethesda to let someone else play with the Fallout franchise while they make ES6, they would never approve of Obsidian being the ones to do it. Only thing they changed from release is they added a new land vehicle so you don't have to spend 20 minutes walking in an empty planet to your procedurally generated pirate cave to do you current fetch quest anymore.
