So Warhammer 40k Horus Heresy MMO got axed despite some decent progress made on itAnyone have some theories on why despite the increased popularity of 40k?Heres mine>Horus Heresy is focused on the 2 faction war. This causes desires for split content causing twice the amount of work>unlike WoW where most dungeons and raids are pretty faction neutral and crossfaction is a thing. Crossfaction is completely anathema for Horus Heresy>lack of customization. As autistic as powerarmour fags are there are only so many types of power armour before you start rehashing them. Theres probably enough content for 1 or 2 seasons but had to see where it goes past that>lack of PVE. Unless you go back in time to the great Crusade where you beat up random human empires and aliens you are stuck with Imperium vs Imperium for the foreseeable future>elephant in the room you can only play as MALES. MMOs in general have a decent amount of female players. Having only playable musky men cuts out a large demographic
>>740979494HH is poopie doodoo and they should stop making content for it. The Emperor, the primarchs, and the heresy itself work best as the Imperium's hazy, quasi-historical foundational myths rather than actual characters or a playable setting. Every line of lore (or even worse--dialogue) that GW writes for these characters and events just makes them less cool. There's plenty to do in 40k without going George Lucas over it and writing a bunch of prequel material. But hey, I guess the cat's out of the bag with this one already so I'm just an old man yelling at clouds. What are we at, like 70 HH books at this point? Good lord.
Brothers!
>>740979494Probably too much work for writers to keep things lore accurate
>>740979949You're gay
>>740980840They can just start out vague
>>740981847This is a 40k thread there's no need to state the obvious.
>>740979494Is that webm supposed to be leaked footage of the MMO? It looks more like a prototype for Space Marine 2.
>>740986365It's a clip from an animator on twitter, not a part of any 40k project.
