I am really starting to hate this thing.
What the fuck is it even asking for? Is there a maximum higher than 2X? What does "in combat" mean? Does there just have to be an enemy onscreen or does there have to be an aggressive enemy actively attacking within a certain range? Do I just need to hold out or continue the violence to count as in combat? I swear to god some of these achievements make me want to drink Spark

In the modifiers menu there's a little pumpkin icon that appears in the top right when a modifier is activated. If that icon turns red, achievements will be disabled for that file, if it's blue you're fine. Most of the modifiers that make the game harder don't block achievements.

I think you should only try turning with the roll if you start it from very far away, even as far as still being out of range for your own attack after the roll. once you land a charge attack I usually jump instantly, the hitstun is so massive you can usually freeze people in mid attack and jump out of the way in time to avoid their attack

Lame. They're going to be like Relogic and patch the game dozens of times anyone finds a clever way to do anything.
A good chunk of the cheesiest cheese in this game is the result of either smart trinket combinations or finding it on reddit to beat the game.
The former should be allowed to feel like they outsmarted the game and did something cool. And the latter were never going to feel that way regardless.

It's not about feats or achievements or any sort of badge. I don't fancy myself skilled enough to do a speedrun or -1% anyway, so the rest of the little checkboxes don't matter. It's about giving the players hundreds of combinations with trinkets and subweapons only to go "NO NOT LIKE THAT."
I just do not understand these developers that pride themselves in these open ended formulas where they "look forward to what players come up with" and thenbackhand the player for coming up with anything remotely good.
