"Resident Evil" is a pretty cool title actually.But it'd work better for a series where each entry is a self-contained story about some interpretation of "evil". Basically Final Fantasy in concept, but horror.

Resident Evil is a good name but it has nothing to do with the story. It's not about some "hidden evil" that resides within, the zombies are almost always just mutated innocent victims and the villains are pretty straight forward bad guys.
The only series that can probably get away with changing a long term name now is yakuza since they are already calling it like a dragon anyways or dropping it completelyotherwise you are a fucking retard if you think rebrands aren't shit 99% of the time. did you know aunt jemima rebranded to pearl milling company a while back and ZERO people call it that
