Last time I tried Fortnight, they had put out some sort of beta/demo mode on Xbox for that years E3. I downloaded it, walked around for a few minutes. Built a little hut, stood in it, I thought "this is so gay" and deleted it. I've seen all the retarded crossovers they've done over the years, and the reaction has varied from "cool" to "gay". At some point, I realized a lot of these promo skins are never coming back, so I lost interest on the whole for a long time. Between these Digital Circus characters and that I heard they're bringing back The Simpsons, I decided to try it again. Popped in and the entire game is a store, every single page in the menu seems to direct to transactions. The Digital Circus pack costs somewhere around $30 in Fortnight dollars, and they only sell the Fortnight dollars in bundles varying from something like $5, $20 and $40 in order to force people only interested in those spend more in their store. So if I know I probably won't ever be able to get (random character skin from 9 years ago), what's the point? The game itself is fun enough, I really only played Reload, the other modes were pretty gay. It wasn't good enough to warrant sticking around without a sunk cost in cosmetics fallacy involved. I'll give it to Fortnight players though, the variety can be really funny.
