In the 2005 version the feedback from pushing movement stick and character response was virtually instantaneous. In the remake, there is a 0.50-0.75s delay between pushing joystick and character response. Also in the newer games they added a small inertia effect. If you recall inertia is the resistance of an object to changes in momentum. So if the character is walking in a straight line and you want to go the opposite way there's small resistance effect for going the other way like the character's body is resisting the change in direction.It's very jarring and annoying but I suppose the argument is it's a more "cinematic" experience. I personally don't like it I like having direct feedback and control of character movement.
