I loved GameFAQs c. 1997 or 1998, because it meant I no longer had to buy the strategy guide for most games I was playing. They were generally $15-20, so that's basically the savings of 1/3 of a game when you didn't buy a guide. This is a good thing. Every game was coming out with shoddy guidebooks, their pages falling out of the spine the first time you turn to them, so GameFAQs democratizing that for free was awesome as a kid with l i t t l e m o n e y
