Why has no one attempted a roger rabbit inspired game that acts as mix between a modern cinematic realistic game and a 3d platformer, with a normal detective and a platformer mascot teaming up to solve a case or something
>>
man shut the fuck up, what a shitty fucking thread holy shit
>>

Pitch the idea to the guy who wrote the books since he recently got the rights back from Disney (somehow)
>>
it was a miracle this movie worked in the first place and would require triple miracle to work as a game in the current year.
>>
>>741162168
Ultimately this. This kind of idea would have only been feasible 20 years ago when games couldn't afford to suck.
>>
Realistically, there isn't any audience for WFRR game. It would have to be a brand new IP.
There was a old Point and Click adventure game where you play a real guy in a cartoon world, thats as close as you're gonna get.

Me as a kid
>Jessica is so hot I want to marry her
Me as an adult
>damn, she fucks a rabbit
>>
They did. It was called Toonstruck and had you play as Christopher Lloyd.
>>
>>741161602
This would have been a good idea for a Space Jam game pre-clown world.
>>
>>741162638
that looks like a shitty HTML homestarrunner game though
>>
>>741162491
what a lucky goil
>>
>>741161602
probably because that would appeal to noone and that movie sucks anyway

The new chip n dale movie did the same thing as Roger Rabbit and it worked.
You just need to treat the cartoons as actual people.

As for a game, it would be harder to pull off since people know it's a game and we hit a wall for realistic graphics, so the whole gimmick of people interacting with cartoons wouldn't hit.

Something something be the change you want to see in the world.

anything toon in modern day becomes fetishslop

>and it worked.
It looked like ass, the movie was shit, and it was a box office bomb. There's not a single metric by which it "worked".
>>
>>741166539
>Box office bomb
>Only screened in a few theaters than put on streaming
>Got overall approval from the critics and real fans
An attempt was made

>>Got overall approval from the critics and real fans
Critics words nowadays aren't worth shit and I'm betting you consider "real" fans only dumb faggots like you.

>Goalpost moving
Stay seething it was a success
>>
Closest youll get is a sort of Wreck-It Ralph style where different games of differing fidelity intermix with each other.
The idea can work but attaching it to an existing IP will just attach you at the hip to it instead of being wholly original.

90% of the ā€œ2Dā€ characters are cel shaded 3D models

No the fuck it didn't, that movie was rancid garbage. Get some fucking taste you absolute faggot.

Kingdom Hearts is already video game WFRR. The whole point of that series is the clash between eastern-style high action and melodrama and classic western animation emotional beats and cartoon slapstick shenanigans, with Sora himself functioning as the middle ground between the two. You can't really get closer than that with vidya.
>>
>>741167125
>>Goalpost moving
Yes, that's what you did.
Was it a box office bomb? Yes.
>b-b-b-b-but muh streaming
Still a bomb.
Did it look like shit? Was the plot shit? Yes.
>b-b-b-b-b--b-b-b-b-but critics liked it
A critic today is just some tool that writes for a website about movies. There's no real qualification, it's so pathetically simple that even you could do it. It pays like shit though, but you're a third-worlder so you could probably buy a house with it.
>b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but I'm a REAL fan and I like it!
You're a real autistic virgin and have no qualification that puts your shitty opinion above others.

Now go back in the wodden shack you call home and masturbate thinking about Gadget, Ivan.

>I hate everything
You're just mad they got Ugly Sonic to work.
>>

>You're just mad they got Ugly Sonic to work.
I could not possibly care less about the stupid Ugly Sonic gag. It's a bad movie with a bad story and bad animation and bad compositing and bad CG. Nothing it does works and the mere fact alone that they cast "normal" celebrities instead of the real voice actors for Chip and Dale is proof that they didn't have one iota of the love for animation as a medium that the people who made Who Framed Roger Rabbit did.
>>
>>741164619
This movie sucked fucking donkey dick and everyone hated it when it released, what kind of garbage fucking taste do you have man Jesus

>>741167027
>Got overall approval from the critics and real fans
The film's average rating is 6.9, also the fuck is a "real" fan? Someone that agrees with you personally? Fuck outta here retard.

This movie was awful though. The humor sucked, the writing was bad, they turned the actor who died homeless on the streets into a villain and said Gadget had sex with a fly who played her pet on the show. This was by far one of the most jewish movies released in this century and it tries to market itself as some nostalgic return to form.

Where the fuck are you getting "electrion tourist" from in my post? I didn't mention an ounce of idpol bullshit. If this is an attempt at trolling, you need to try harder.

This movie looked cheap as fucking hell compared to Roger Rabbit, what are you smoking

That movie being shit is a bipartisan issue, literally nobody on any side likes it because it's horrendous to everybody

It's called Toonstruck and it's fucking awful. Everything it just way over the top. Go watch a play through of it on YouTube or something. You might like it if you're 5 years old though.
>>
>anons ITT who keep suggesting Toonstruck
Read what OP's suggesting again. He's basically saying having a game with realistic CGI (so imagine Uncharted for example) and then having a toon characters in it Roger Rabbit style. In other words avoiding the limitations FMV games like Toonstruck has.
>>
>>741164619
You shouldn't be allowed to speak if you think Roger Rabbit is in the same league as that film
>>
>>741171084
Sounds like it would sell terribly. I doubt there's a large market for full motion capture and dated cartoons.
