>I feel very blind to what people want
Honestly I'm not sure either. I'm completely hopeless.
Unrealistically and unhelpfully for your story, I want every single Company employee of your AU executed on live television and every enforcer sodomised to death by barbed hydraulic fuck machines. I'm normally against sadism or cruel and unusual punishments, but the unimaginably horrible amounts of human-expie rape and subsequent human-expie rape-babies produced requires a more extreme correction against those responsible.

But I suppose more realistically and helpful for your story I simply want Doc to succeed.
>Succeed at what?
I don't know. Just succeed in any way shape or form that I can only pray is not immediately diminished or obliterated raped and ruined in the very next paragraph.
He currently succeeded at killing one of those insect monsters which is pretty cool considering how unstoppably instantly lethal they appeared to be earlier. Who would have thought all some people need to finally do what needs to be done without hesitation or fear is a little mindbreak? Funny how the actual game can lean into that with some players deliberately mindwiping themselves to go Hollow and unfeeling so they can endlessly freely murder traders and take all their loot now freed from the shackles of things as silly and weak as "emotions" and "happiness".
F-071 seemed to be completely numb emotionally, a dead expie walking. No foolish silly feelings clouding judgement and getting in the way of what must be done, just numb dead emotionless logic that Captain Major needs the life pump and they don't, not anymore, because they're unsavable and have been walking dead for long enough.
Vee, too, understands that one must do what must be done without any hesitation to survive.

My first time in Layer 5, went way way way too smoothly. Like, I encountered absolutely zero things. Have you perhaps been inspired by Howler from the void? It might just be my lack of experience with crazy fucking protagonists, but the way Dr. Incell is schizoing out feels a bit similar to the way Eigen Morris's delusions are portrayed (minus the vivid, semi-independent hallucinations and prose, of course).
Then again, it could just be Don Quixote, but i'm fairly certain the overlap between the communities that could enjoy that kind of literature and Cas u players is much less pronounced than one that is borderline hmofa already.

it's easier to lose but the flashlight is simply superior because you have way more control over it and it's easier to preserve the battery on it

if i have head protection gear of any kind i much prefer a flashlight, but i really don't mind the headlamp all that much as my primary lightsource. it's a little unwieldy but it lights up enough of the field, and i hoard medium battery components and steal all the small batteries i can so i never have an issue with batteries really.

Actually Anon, I take back part of what I said in >>741176891
>success not immediately diminished or obliterated raped and ruined in the very next paragraph.
It's only natural, expected even, for a Hero to suffer setbacks and tribulations in their journey. What would a story be without any conflict? Not much of a story. What really matters is that the Hero perseveres, even when thrown into rock bottom, and then into a yet deeper bottom that he never thought could have existed. Persevering in the face of impossible odds, and perhaps making the impossible possible with his determination.
I'd like to share a relevant quote from my favorite vidya alien sadomasochistic psycho, Jiequan:
>It's not about the destination, it's all about the painful process.
>Those with great responsibility are granted hardships from heaven. One can only become a whole person after enduring mental and physical trials.
>You may deny it, but behind your self-righteous vengeance, you're more twisted and bloodthirsty than I am.
>Suffering will lead you to embrace these truths.
Jiequan's family motto is
>Heroes are forged in agony.
I believe all of this applies to Doc quite well. Doc has endured mental and physical trials and has grown as a person as a result. For example, he now sympathizes with and views Sawians as the actual people they are with genuine worth and value. His stubborn cowardice is/was still problematic, but that doesn't seem to be an issue for him anymore.
While his mind may be alarmingly fractured, I'd like to hope it's more like his true heroic and powerful self finally emerging and breaking free of its weak and cowardly shell. Would the old Doc have fought the God-King's Immortals 1v1? Fuck no. But Doc "Son of Sparta" did without hesitation or fear and fucking won.
Perhaps it's time for Doc "The Butcher [of sawians]" to become The Butcher of Tarry-1. Like Raiden letting Jack the Ripper out but for a noble cause.
I'm sure Vee would be proud of his Spartan strength.

>I feel very blind to what people want
It'd be fun if with Doc's newfound schizostrength the story began leaning towards hopecore.
Horrible soul-crushing nightmarish tragedies and sadness can still occur of course, but I'd love to see Doc become the strong powerful and capable gigachad crazy bloodsoaked heroic figure and hardened grizzled Terry-1 survivalist veteran that Vee, Captain Major, and the rest of the trapped sawians (and i begrudgingly suppose the humans too) deserve and need.
I want Doc to become the Doc that Vee and Captain Major in believes in! Who's scalpel (or spear? or bare metal hands?) will be the scalpel/spear/bare metal hands that will pierce the heavens (the surface of Terry-1)!
https://youtu.be/I1rlZycqmTo
May the old cowardly weak Doc die so the new fearless strong Doc of Sparta may take his place and press on ever forward. Basically it'd be funny and sick if a little mindbreaking is what Doc needed to break his self-limiters and tap into the endless limitless fountain of strength that is the indomitable human spirit latent with him. To save and protect Captain Major, Vee, and maybe even everyone else in trapped in the lost base ship.
Basically picrelated but with Doc instead of an expie
>Doc Before & After Terry-1
If Doc ever returns to the base or is seen by anyone again, I'd love for people to be shocked by how much he's changed. Physically, mentally, emotionally, Doc is a new man. A better, stronger, faster, superior in every way man. I want people to be in awe of his sheer aura, and I don't just mean his smell kek.

Have another.
I think Sawians would do very well in the Zone.
Experiments would make the bulk of the Sawian population in the Zone. Being the average general all-rounders. Their natural physical resiliency and abilities to quickly heal from injuries would be very useful in a place with low supplies like the Zone.
Milkys would be stay-at-base housewives and make good gunsmiths and crafters. I'm sure they could craft crazy shit out of the piles of scrap and trash in Garbage.
Dunes would thoroughly enjoy hunting and devouring the local mutant wildlife, keeping their numbers in check and safer for rest of the Sawians in the zone.
If Voyagers have their invisibility then enough said. Invisible Voyager bandits will slit your throat in your sleep. And watch you masturbate.

I don't think the headlamp it's worth the loss of protection if you've got a bicycle helmet or better, but if you don't It's nice to have to free up your flashlight hand. You could put the flashlight in your mouth to get the same effect, but I like being able to understand what my character is saying.
Lantern on a belt mogs both of course.

if your thorax's muscle health is low, it's tough to breath. Bruise kit helps recover from this. Keep (or craft) an opiate syringe (or upgrade to morphine, it's easy to craft you just need water + biochem) so that you can get bruise kits whenever you have dressings lying around

Depends on your supplies first and foremost (do you have lots of stock to heal to full?). Otherwise, prioritize healing just enough to restore your movement capabilities so that you can jump around/dig to keep moving to better positions/more resources. Try to keep your skin health as high as possible to stave off infections too
https://scavprototype.wiki.gg/wiki/Limb_health
When I get bone damage (fracture or dislocation), I usually slam an entire bruise kit onto the limb to speed up the healing time

>>741190071
Stop bleeding first (get it down to pale yellow or white/gray color). If your skin health is high, you can trust the blood loss to heal on its own in that limb if you want to direct your attention elsewhere/conserve dressings
Leaving shrapnel in a wound prevents your skin and muscle health from regening naturally, so you can remove the pieces once you've stabilized yourself (I think that you can still manually heal skin and muscle with dressings even while shrapnel is lodged still)
Really only focus on muscle health in your head/thorax/abdomen if something has gone really wrong, otherwise it is the last thing on your priority list. Stabilize other things first then bruise kit your limbs before moving on

Salads can straight up eat a live tnt stick with no detrimental effects (it straight up despawns them), i don't think a grav bag will cut it
>>
>>741186164
Flashlight. Headlamp can't be turned off unless you remove the battery first (big pain in the ass every time you want to sleep), has worse viewing angles since it can only go as far as your Expie's head can turn, and blocks the ability to wear a helmet which I feel is FAR more important for staving off brain damage from falls or getting bonked by a stalactite/bowling ball. If you need a free hand for something just shove the flashlight in a bag or your mouth for a minute.

Just like with dynamite, contact with the elder thornback's mandibles deletes the item.

Once again I have become a victim of a horrible infection that even the strongest antibiotics weren't fixing, not having nearly as many rations as I should have, and depression in the godforsaken desert. My plan was to hopefully find a drill in the desert I could skip to the jungle, but before that, more mags for my rifle and maybe a gravbag too, and I ended up coming across none of these things until it was already too late, and in a desperate attempt to save myself outside of a milkies pod, I hollowed myself, woke up god knows where, still dying of all the other problems, and at that point, I just called it and let the little dude sleep, maybe next time, but a fun run nonetheless. I had some good close calls all around, including trying to blow up a milkie with the landmine on her pod for some more mags, erasing the vine I was sitting on in the process, and also failing to kill the milkie she was just really pissed off. On top of that, I almost ate lead to the face from an unseen turret after charging some batteries, but I managed to scamper away fast enough that it only destroyed one of my feet in a luckily fixable way.

Fellow scientists I have discovered some shocking yet also not so shocking information it turns out the liquid from the mysterious cans that made one of my experiments die of a horrible stomach infection was not in fact oxyline as this only causes major damage to the thorax after some extensive research I found that the real culprit was MOLD this foul substance not only causes internal bleeding in the experiment but also an immediate onset infection I do not recommend any fellow scientists try these cans themselves despite what the jr researchers will tell you about some of them containing "stimulating" properties.

I finally finished the first 7k words of my story.
It's about a scientist who doesn't like Sawians accidentally being sent off to the Gray Planet and he has to convince the Milky in the pod with him that they're partners chosen by the company. If he doesn't. he knows the Experiments on the planet will kill him eventually.
It's going to be a short story, so it should only have 25k-30k words at most unless I really fuck up and keep overdescribing shit.
It's probably creator bias, but it's 7k words and I don't feel that much is happening in the scenes. I would appreciate any feedback.

>“Partners?”
>“Partners.”
Yay! I like it, Anon! It's hooked me and I wanna read what happens next. Though I'm already steeling my poor heart for tragedy and sadness which is sadly inevitable in the Grey Planet.
The foundation of their relationship being a lie is bound to end in tragedy and hurt, and I have low hopes for the odds of a fragile humans survival inside the death caves, so the suspense is real. But having pre-knowledge of all the traps they're going to encounter greatly increases their odds of survival and also of avoiding serious injury. Because if you know what to look for, you can keep your eyes peeled for it, spot it, and avoid it. If you know how it functions and how it activates, you can avoid or even disarm it.
Dr. Gregory is so cringe it's funny. I really like how observant and intelligent you've written the Milky, it feels like it would be really difficult to lie to one unless you had meticulously planned it out before hand to ensure there's no holes or leaks in your deceptions. It feels like Milkys would make great interrogators who would (secretly, with their usual pokerface) gleefully catch, expose, and pointedly question all of the inconsistencies and contradictions in your statements, which is cool and makes Milkys cool.
Getting to read and experience trademark bratty Milky arrogance on full display is cute and funny.
Gregory's and 033's party builds seems unbalanced because they're both INT builds. INT is really great for the Grey Planet, but you need STR and RES too. Gregory will be carrying (perhaps literally) his partners lack of physical strength. But if your story is as heavily inspired by the game's mechanics as it seems then 033's natural 16 INT and his resulting incredible crafting abilities should come in very, very handy indeed, possibly being able to craft anything and everything they will need if only they can acquire the raw resources.
To put it simply, a Milky with a multitool holds powerful potential.

The way 033 was so captivated and interested in the multitool was so cute and endearing to me. I like to think that teachers, good teachers who truly enjoy teaching, would really love and enjoy teaching Milkys because of their intelligence, curiosity, and natural strong desires to learn, acquire, and absorb knowledge like sponges. Teachers who love teaching absolutely love students who love to learn, and I think Milkys would make excellent students.

>Orange

Then suddenly
>Roza

I can imagine the doylist explanation being Chompy and earlier being conceived when the dev was still a kid, and Roza and after after dev grew up into an angsty teen, but is there room for a watsonian interpretation?

Truthfully I didn't think I'd like it, given the premise and point of view, but you've hooked and captivated me. The real ringer I absolutely loved was the many layers that went into the guy coming off as "some kind of Saw-lover", hilarious and adorable in some ways. Also very excited to find out about whoever she is, did he have a 'pet' milky or something? Seems ridiculous but it's what I'm reaching for. As the other anons said it was cute reading how much 033 was interested in the multitool. I'm really shocked he just handed over the gun right away, especially with all that talk of how the milky could kill him the second he gets a gun. Must have some confidence in his lying, or I suppose he could just be that bad of a shot. Also excited to see how he can try and play himself off as a native when all he's got on is definitely very sciency researcher like, without ditching the utility of all those pockets and such. And in case it wasn't obvious, I think you should definitely throw this up on ao3 and keep writing (at a reasonable pace so it's not rushed and such. i've still got a cute-romantical-raunchy expy-milky chapter to write i havent started on haha)

I have awoken to much praise! I was right, it was creator bias. Thank you for your kind words.
There were certain parts of Gregory's personality I didn't touch on, simply because a scene with two people in a pod can only be interesting for so long, so I shortened it. Uncloak the spoilers if you would like, they'll be part of the story later on.
Gregory isn't the smartest of the scientists. In fact, he's from what you would call the "second wave" of hires; a body to fill a labor gap. He's still a fair bit smarter than the average human, but just by reading his narration you can tell he's not quite professional.
He's a big fan of combat sports, (Boxing, wrestling, women's mud wrestling, football, etc.) but doesn't actively train to fight. They've copied the movements of athletes and have the basics down. They know how to fight in theory, but have never applied it to a real-world situation. Gonna learn how much it hurts to punch something with your full body weight.
Now, I'm thinking of what to name this story. I already have an idea, so I'll edit the rentry page to add it. Hope I can deliver!

I don't envy edgelord sawians, no matter how much tacticool gear they put on - skulls, crossbones, leather jackets, frivolous pockets and belts - they will always be far too cute to be taken seriously. Their futile attempts to struggle against this cruel facet of reality will paradoxically only prove it more and more true.

Sawian singers would be insane, imagine how absurdly, glass-breakingly high a milky's soprano might reach or how deep a baron's bass must go. Opera would never be the same.
Voyagers would also work surprisingly well as idols, they are naturally egomaniacal divas and would enjoy being the center of attention, maybe even a bit too much and would do whatever they can to gaslight gatekeep girlboss their way to success.
I guess expies and rozas can also function well as generalist singers, although they would probably rope before long...

the most important thing in ANY RUN is the ability to sit around for a really really long time. everything you should do should be primarily in service of improving your ability to, at any time, sit around for a really long time, and secondarily to deal with serious wounds that would cause quick death. time heals pretty much all wounds, INCLUDING BRAIN DAMAGE. keep a shitton of refined produce juice on you at all times. if you get seriously injured? heal up enough to keep yourself alive, then sit around until vitals stabilize. if you're not either getting stuff that lets you deal with initial shock or getting stuff that lets you sit around for a while, you're probably wasting your time. the only exception is exploration gear to go deeper, but that is a distant third priority and only really important to set up at the start.

(this works best on unchipped)

>>741255763
refined takes up slightly less space and gives 8X MORE mood per sip. iirc its only slightly better (or maybe a bit worse) than normal juice in the nutrition department, so only really worth refining if youre stockpiling, which you should be. mood is important when youre sitting around to keep up last stand chances, to prevent mood deficit when you get an injury before you've dealt with the initial shock, and to not deal with debuffs from a sad expie.
>>
>>741255763
Refined is much better for the expie's mood and only needs a campfire.
>>
>>741255876
i dont make campfires super often, and meat is usually pretty heavy from what ive seen, so i just don't bother unless there's a convenient corpse sitting around. soup is better when you can make it, but the ingredients can spoil. produce juice can be made whenever and refined later. soup needs the fire.
>>
>>741255763
>>741255876
Refined juice gives a mood boost greater than soup.
Also listen to >>741255651, if you ever get serious brain damage (around 70) just put down a campfire and wait until it gets better. Campfires wont increase your temp but actually maintain it at a reasonable level so it helps even in the desert layers.
Besides you can boil some water too to pass the time.

It's a rare find, but you should always craft it if given the opportunity. Just make sure to move the cereal into a better liquid container. Two IV bags can hold all three bowls of soup in 2/3rds of the space.

never ever ever ever let yourself be exhausted, you should always have enough stamina to run away
jungle is honestly pretty chill just keep your eyes out for the enemies, tree sap will keep you fed the entire time
you'll know instantly if something really dangerous shows up which in your having only a rifle you need to run like hell
>>
>>741257652
salad will rape you, if you see it just run
>>
>>741257652
try to sleep and rest often, you dont wanna get caught by something while and not be able to run away or fight it off. If you can try to loot the brick buildings, they got a lot of good shit
>>
>>741257652
I got to the jungle layer once when i played before the game was on steam. Do the skullcrushers follow you or was i just tweaking?
>>
>>741257652
•Tree sap is a very nice drink. It will slightly increase your sickness but don't worry and don't let that scare you off. Fill your drinking water bottles with it. Dump out and replace clean water with it.
•Despite leaves and shit being literally everywhere, foliage for crafting can sometimes be surprisingly hard to find.
•You will hear mysterious spooky noises that sound like things walking around all around you. They will find you soon enough. Try to attack them while they're still stuck in an enclosed space to most easily stunlock them to death.
•Enjoy the music! That layer has my favorite soundtrack so far. Enjoy the vibes too, it's an extremely dangerous layer but pretty cozy actually, when things are chill and calm.
•Skullcrushers are basically free scrap metal if you need any.
•Watch out for bear traps, they're hard to see, and even harder to see in this particular layer for some reason.
•Have lots of spare canvas ready to be shredded to make bandages. This layer can inflict very severe bleeding wounds that will require lots of bandaging. A tourniquet would be great for if/when the worst case scenario happens.
>salad when?
NOW. But seriously, I'd fucking flee if I were you. Running through lifepods and metal structures is the best for slowing it down so you can escape from it.

and is this endless mode due to demo version and all? does it get harder or just layer 2 again? if so, I might find salad on this same run!
>>
>>741260962
there are loot and trap multipliers that go higher every time you beat a layer, so it will get harder the more you loop
>>
>>741260962
Dunes I imagine run circles around it, gnawing at salad ass. In the sandbox, it's entirely possible to melee one to death because you can bounce off the walls and get behind it. But that's because the sandbox is big enough.
Hell, it's an entirely viable strat in the jungle too, if you've got an arena prepared.

>and is this endless mode due to demo version and all?
Yeah currently the demo is basically endless mode. When you reach the end of layer 5, the last playable layer in the demo, if you choose to continue and descend to the next layer you will loop back to layer 2 with all your gear and stat levels.
>does it get harder
No, actually. If anything it gets easier because you still have all your gear and stat levels which will only continue to increase.
What this anon says >>741261540 was correct for previous versions of the demo, but not anymore. In the current version that you are playing all run playstyles by default have zero increase of traps per layer.
>or just layer 2 again?
Yep.
>if so, I might find salad on this same run!
Yep, and on your way back to layer 5 you may acquire a proper shotgun or rifle and ammo to blow apart it's ugly maw.

What's with the strong and loud static effect in Gunsaw's first level when you're killing the very first unarmed experiment? It was deliberately put there by the dev so I wonder what it means.
I wonder if it's like the hollow Mercenary starting to feel something, anything, again. But then it immediately dissipates once the experiment dies. The mission intro does mention it has been a while since he's done any work (mass murder).
I'm implying the Mercenary maybe felt guilt, remorse, sympathy, or something like that. But maybe it's the exact opposite. Maybe the static is the hollow Mercenary enjoying the rush of finally being able to kill again.
sound version https://files.catbox.moe/pckye0.mp4
Or maybe I'm just overthinking it and it's just to make your very first kill of a sawian (who had friends, hopes, and dreams) dramatic.

Also I enjoy the experiments massive bapper paws with pink beans sprite.

Combination of this vote and the votes from the other places I put the poll: looks like it's going to be combo budget dnd and watching pups.
Some concerns were raised about how interesting it would be to actually read, but don't worry, the budget dnd's mere existence is plot relevant and - at least in my opinion - interesting.

The expies need another activity next chapter, and "construction wageslaving" seems pretty popular, so first chapter'll feature budget dnd & pups, next chapter'll feature construction wageslaving.
>>
>>741262897
where else did you throw the poll? if there's other places for casualties unknown (or general writefaggotry besides that dying trash thread) I'd be very interested
and im excited to see how you do all 3 of those things i hope it's cute
>>
>>741262584

>>
>>741263315
I asked a few personal friends of mine and the game's cord server has a forum where you can post collections of works. This thread by far engaged with the poll the most. So, not really that many places. I've been looking around for other discords/social areas/threads in general related to casualties unknown, but none of the ones I've been finding are very good. I'm half considering making my own.

The combo dnd and pups thing a friend of mine thought of a clever way to do which elevated both options quite a bit, so i'm pretty confident it'll be an interesting read, and the construction stuff'll be a bit more of a backdrop but provides a very good excuse to explain some things that'll become increasingly relevant as the fic goes on.

great advice here. My must-have medicine is either a splint or a bone welder in order to cut-down on the wait-time for fractures to heal, but I've been in situations where my soup reserves from layer 1 have kept me satiated while slowly healing an injury in layer 4

finding a lighter is great, but keeping a few sticks in the materials pouch makes it easy to firestarter --> campfire --> charcoal from droppings (if you want). All the dried foliage in layer 3 should make it easy to get regular fires (finding water is another issue, though)

I used to struggle with thirst in the desert until an anon told me about making produce juice from brownshrooms, cacti, and stonefruit. Ever since then I've completely stopped worrying about thirst in the desert. Produce juice is awesome and a total gamechanger.
I used to just ignore brownshrooms because I thought they were useless, but they're not! Turn those nasty killer poison shrooms into delicious hydrating juice and foliage meals.

I want to thank the anons here who supported me from all the way back in May when I posted this >>739642264

It's thanks to all of you that I've started writing again. Now, I know three weeks for 7k words looks bad, but I actually only started 9 days ago, and work had been twisting my balls every step of the way. That should slow down soon, though. Anyways, here's the AO3 link to my story I've called:

"Whitecoats: Unknown"
https://archiveofourown.gay/works/86860426

I gotta be honest, I'm really wanting to start the fic I was talking about in this post. The Milky story was going to be a short one, but I'm not sure if it's gonna be that short. Worst case scenario: I burn out and everyone knows I failed to deliver. However, a man once said "If you chase two rabbits, both will escape".
>>
>>741267157
produce juice is a gamechanger in the desert. It really necessitates getting your early game crafting down so you have a hammering tool (if you're playing with low loot/unlucky). Still, I like to stock up on a bit of groundwater at the bottom of layer 2 if I can since a lot of medicine recipes call for water

be careful if you're the type who uses the fast forward buttons. A thornback digging through leaves towards you can come up faster than you can react if you x20 without securing your surroundings first

overgrown ticks are shade crawlers but actually dangerous. high blood pressure (hypertension) can be a killer if you let a couple of their bites + high body weight + fear from nearby salad all come together to cause a stroke. Blood thinners (sodium nitroprusside or saline from and IV bag or even removing some of your own blood) can offer quick corrections to these situations. My first few times through the jungle, those aggressive ticks pumped me full of toxins

try to have a good digging tool (ideally a mini drill) in case you need to make a quick escape from something. In my experience, layer 5 is relatively cramped and I end up digging through leaves for half of it (other half is sliding down vines). This makes it my quickest layer as well

Easy place to stock-up on scrap metal since skullcrushers + traps are easy to destroy. I like making dynamite from scrap --> scrap panel and combine with flammable powder from stonefruits

>Worst case scenario: I burn out and everyone knows I failed to deliver.
That's ok, don't worry about it. I don't want you or any other anons to feel obligated or forced to do anything, because I know how much I dislike feeling obligated or forced. If you or any other anons were to suddenly decide "nah I change my mind I don't wanna write anything anymore" I'd understand and never hold it against you.
So I wish you (and all anons ITT <3 ) the best no matter what you do or decide.

I can't relate to Expies at all. Because I've had the immense luck of living a relatively safe and comfortable life, and because they're stronger than me in every possible way. I still love and admire them. I really admire their strength, resiliency, perseverance, and raw drive to survive. Expies never give up and just lay down and die, they keep moving forward until they finally literally cannot anymore. And if they're so miserable they're ready to end their own life on their terms, they will. I could never do any of that.
Plus I'm nowhere near as lovably huggably fluffily cute and adorable and so perfectly suitable to be turned into a highly-successful and easily marketable plushie as they are.

Oranges are rare in general. Probably because they aren't in C:U as anything other than a corpse and the ones in Gunsaw all have their extra arms cut off.
Too basic to be special, too uncommon to be ordinary.
They don't have much of a niche right now
>>
>>741307974
their niche is incredible four-armed hugs

Is everyone on the Grey Planet in that era just a badly-outfitted bandit or militia group?
Couldn't they supply the Mercenary with a four-armed Orange upon request?
>>
>>741308119
i need me a cute and sassy orange to tease me when im grumpy and then cheer me up with the best hugs possible

>Pre gamed mats to make lantern but I haven't found a shart
>Have a refined copper in my bag

Should I make a flashlight? My emergency is running out
>>
>>741313715
oftentimes i scrape by desert without a proper lighting solution, just picking up the rose lights and holding one in my mouth and a spare unshucked one in a bag if i have weight to spare. but, you've probably also got plenty of batteries at this point (or a least access to lots of charge if you need it) so you can make a flashlight if you prefer that. good luck with the lantern i swear i never seem to find lantern shard in runs where i have the mats for a lantern.
>>
>>741313715
The flashlight is pretty light and using copper to make bundles of wires is already useful for many other things.
You might as well make one and then just keep it in a bag once you find the last piece for the lantern. The lantern has slightly less range so there are times you might still want to use the flashlight.
If you have the space, redundancy isn't a bad thing.
>>
>>741313715
a flashlight on the dim setting with a medium battery will last you an entire run and some loops

go away purple cat thing. traders are friends, they are for hugs. you give them some mindwipe and get their whole stock, killing them is cruel.

Killing them is merciful, theyre bound to bleed out to death on the way down and die in pain, so why not pave the way for other superior sawians to survive longer and take their stuff for free?
