It's full of awful modern clichés and the characters are so incompetent. The gameplay is also awful with enemy AI being absolutely stupid, the gadgets making every encounter extremely easy. You even get X ray vision to make everything as simple as possible. I understand why journalists like the game so much, you can barely fail. It's also full of modern emasculation and shitty writing.

I just started it this weekend and I think I'm probably about 3/4 through it. If I were to rate it right now I'd give it a 6/10. Collecting batteries and chemicals to power your gadgets gets old really fast, you never have enough ammo during firefights and have to constantly switch weapons, and there are too many boring sections with no action.
I've never really understood the appeal of James Bond. Not the books, not the movies.As for the games, GoldenEye is basically just a random FPS, it makes no sense in terms of espionage since you go around killing everyone in every mission without giving a shit. And then there's some trash games that has no value...To me, he's the most ridiculous character, and I'm amazed he's survived in popular culture for so long.
