Are you going to play Raiders?
>>
is this the single player splatoon? sure
>>
Yes
>>
I would have to buy a switch 2 for it...
Maybe getting a bundle with raiders wouldn't be the worst thing ever.

Yes!
>>
I got enough Splatoon playtime with 1 and don't really want to play more at all
>>
>>741259110
just buy it now anon. It's a great system.

>>741258940
we went over this yesterday retard-kun.

>>741258627
Yes.
At max difficulty and only splatana stamper or e-liter. I need nothing else.
Gonna be a long wait though despite only being 5 weeks away
>>
>>741259374
Splatoon 1 was 11 years ago.

oh yeah, I'll just plop down $500, no problem.
For basically one game.
>>
>>741259560
it's still $450, nintendo gave people a 4 month heads up for the price increase
>>
>>741259618
I know, but they're packing in a game with their $500 console, so it's not the worst price increase ever.
>>
How many splatoon games will they make for the switch 2 lifetime? I'm guessing at least one multiplayer focus, and two single player games
>>
>>741259676
>>741259560
so you admit that two games.
Then you have Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, Pokopia, Yoshi's Mysterious Book, Mario Tennis Fever, and HWAoI. Plus tons of 3rd parties.
>>
>>741259827
I'm gonna buy the splatoon raiders pack-in bundle. They announced it in the jp nintendo direct. I'm not into mario kart, let alone world.
If I had to pick one other switch 2 game I guess Bananza looks the best.
>>
>>741259753
Raiders, Splatoon4, then another spin off would be best.
Id vote either Squony Hawks Radical Skateboarding or let IS make another squad tactics game like Code Name STEAM.
Leave splat5 for the switch3.
>>
>>741259980
>splatoon skate
>splatoon ATV/motocross
>splatoon snowboarding
>splatoon rally
>>
>>741260423
This would make the switch 2 worth it.
>>
>>741259463
NTA but kinda same as him. I bought Splatoon on WiiU and played the fuck out of it. When 2 was just more of the same for another $60 bucks I dropped this series. Never been interested in it again.
>>
>>741260886
Okay? So then why enter a thread about a franchise you haven't cared about in over a decade, just to tell people that? Are you stupid?
>>
>>741260423
I would kill for anyone to make a SSX style game, I don't care who.

sure why not
>>
Maybe down the line, but I have too much to play right now to deal with the potential to get baited back into splatoon 3 or to want 4.
>>
>>741258627
I don't play multiplayer games but I like the design of Splatoon so I'm considering it.
>>
>>741261627

Strive to be a better squid.
Don't feed the squaggots who shitpost anon.
>>
>>741258627
I'll be there day 1 though my hype has gone down a bit. The latest footage gave me a bit of a lukewarm feeling on it but maybe it's nothing. I was hoping for it to be like a big salmon run-ish spin off but it looked a little too similar to just any other splatoon campaign
>>
probably? I need to see some straight uninterrupted gameplay before makign a decision

Yeah, probably, though I'm still waiting on the direct since I'd like to know more about it before I buy. At least with the Treehouse, now I know that you go into missions that end when you get to the treasure and that weapons drop. Wonder how much grinding that might entail if you use multiple weapon drops to upgrade your shit.

I was also made aware that Saturday was the 8-year anniversary of Octo Expansion, which puts a big sloppy smile on my face.
>>
>>741264571
>and that weapons drop.
we already knew bosses dropped weapons from the first trailer.
just not the full of extent of which. but it seems any boss can drop any weapon. right?
>missions end when you get the treasure
over world or just dungeons? quiting over world via treasure nab is lame. gotta have that mad dash to escape and horde rush down.
>>
>>741265048
>we already knew bosses dropped weapons from the first trailer.
We did? Been so long since I seen it that I couldn't remember. But yeah, judging from the gameplay it seems like weapons simply drop from bosses. Overworld missions do indeed end when you get the big treasure at the end. Maybe the dungeons will be the ones where you have to grab it and then escape, though I personally wouldn't count on it.
>>
il decide after the direct, this might be my first splatoon game
>>
>>741265927
Anon...we literally watch an ocrtobrush pop out of a scrapper.
Only thing we didn't know was
1. can any boss drop any weapon, or is it 'themed'? like scrapper only drop rollers/brushes since those are most similar to him.
2. are weapon drops decided by the location you scavenge from?
not sure how much the treehouse answered in regards to that. not seen it.
Though the game being more like mario 64/sunshine and kicking you out once you get the treasure is an unexpected choice.

>Anon...we literally watch an ocrtobrush pop out of a scrapper.
Untrue, I just watched it. The octobrush is simply there out in the open, there was no indication of where it came from. Could've been from a treasure chest for all we knew. As for drops, it could be that the first one, the second, or a combination of both. Direct might answer it but still gotta wait 2 weeks. Only saw the Treehouse footage once and the guys playing weren't the most enthusiastic, but at least it was illuminating in showing how a typical stage will play out.

>Though the game being more like mario 64/sunshine and kicking you out once you get the treasure is an unexpected choice.
I don't see why, it falls completely in line with how every single other single player experience in Splatoon has been, barring the obvious Side Order progression. Even then, it's still in and out.

>I don't see why, it falls completely in line with how every single other single player experience in Splatoon has been, barring the obvious Side Order progression. Even then, it's still in and out.
Sure but this is supposedly some type of extraction shooter.
So figured it was bum arund the region, genocide fish, dip into caves, nab loot then rush to the escape zone once you feel satisfied or the pressure is too high.

I did preorder it, but I've been second-guessing myself because I remembered Side Order (it fucking sucks)
>>
>>741268218
Okay, people keep saying that but when was it ever actually stated by the devs themselves? This feels like a fan assumption that people have convinced themselves is actual fact.
>>
>>741268312
sorta yuh. but the treasure hunting and loot nabbing theme sold people on the idea
>>
>>741258627
certainly
>>
>>741268998
And thus why I've been waiting for a direct. Because we still don't have that many concrete facts about the game, despite how close it is.
>>
I preordered but the more of the game I see the less I want it. I don't replay hero modes in the base games or the dlc. i dont play salmon run. i just don't know how this is going to be replayable.
>>
Fuck yeah.
Love me Splatoon single player and a full game for that, I'm excited.

I'm on the fence and need more information hopefully on the 30th with the Splatoon Direct.
>>
When is the direct?
>>
>>741271104
In three and ten days.
>>
>>741264571
octo expansion sucked
>>
>>741258627
I'm not even a graphicsfag, but why does it look so bad? Nintendo's offering games with great visuals, as are third parties. The textures here look compressed to all fuck, the lighting looks terrible with that shitty fog everywhere and it's low poly as hell.

Shit looks like they scrapped a planned DLC for Splatoon 3 and are selling it as a full game.
>>
>>741271890
As long as there's enough content, I see no issues with DLC morphing into a new game

Buying this and playing Splatoon 3 events once they come out. Not sure if I will be playing with friends or not mostly because I want to enjoy the single player campaign.

How did they manage it?
>>
>>741272076
I just realized this is the only bit of fanart I've seen of someone actually working at Robo ROM-en. I know it's got robot waiters, but still.
>>
I feel like there's so much potential for a single player Splatoon title that explores things that wouldn't work as well in a multiplayer setting and without the limitation being that multiplayer is the game's main selling point but instead churning out single player Salmon Run (with CPU assist) just kinda sucks.
>>
>>741271890
>scrapped a planned DLC
Its the most likely answer. Nintendo tweeted in 2020 that happy new year pic that was salmon themed that said SOS. Theyve been sitting on this for a while.

I do think it looks nice but I am biased since SR is my fucking jam. The one thing I have to give them credit for is that we finally, fucking FINALLY, have a single player mode where every level isn't just Mario Galaxy planetoids in space.

>>741272580
The speculation for this shit was rampant, bro, and it didn't help that 2020 was the year of bad things going down. Who'da thunk we'd finally get a follow up 6 years later.
>>
>>741259560
I did for the original Splatoon. Somehow got some good money reselling that WiiU too.

Jesus.
>>
>>741271721
wrong
>>
>>741258627
I've heard bad things about salmon run and I've never played Splatoon multiplayer, yet people say this is like big salmon run which makes me not wanna play it anymore
>>
>>741275687
right
>>
>>741258627
No, I'll wait for the inevitable Switch 2 OLED even if it takes another 3 years.
>>
>>741258627
Will they fix the 100 ms input lag downgrade splatoon 2&3 received and upgrade the netcode to 128hz?
120fps status?
So far switch 2 games have had input lag problems somehow even worse than switch 1(see skyrim s2 version), i like splatoon but i am not paying a s2 or this game if the input lag that makes the game's controls unnecessarily uncomfortable isn't fixed. Same for the aiming smoothing it makes fast aiming impossible ffs
