Do you need to play silver case to understand what's going on?
>>741260701You should play The Silver Case regardless
>>741260701Yes you do>>741260782This as well, TSC is one of the best games ever made.
>>741260782I did and i have no idea what happened, what's the story, why it happened and why is there 3 to 4 conspiracies intertwined with each other.
>>741260701it's possible to understand what's going on?
>>741261924I think it's easy to understand the story but not the message, there is a trillion interpretations on the subtext
>>741260701Even if you've played Silver Case, you won't understand what's going on. But you'll understand it slightly better than if you haven't.
>>741260701I hope they start working on this or hopefully Capcom gives them the okay for the Killer7 Director's Cut.
>>741265072>the Killer7 Director's Cut.Huh?
The continuity part in these games is overstated. Usually its just some random ass character cameos while you spend the rest of the game doing something irrelevant. People play them (watch them on YouTube) for the vibes most of all
>>741260824Nah. I think at some point you were going to kill a girl or a girl was going to be killed. Near the start. Nope. Game over.
>>741265149The original Killer7 had a troubled development, and a lot of things ended up getting cut. Since then, Suda has always discussed the possibility of remaking Killer7. He's up for it, he's just waiting for Capcom (the game's publishers) to give him the okay.
>>741260701Wheres the translation for the PS2 version?
>>741260782>>741260824it's pretentious trite.terrible fucking VN. no idea why you fags wank this shit off.
>>741265921The game is already pretty long, anything more and it would make it a 40 hour game
>>741266683that's MORE game to enjoy, anon!
>>741266683Come on, no. K7 is about 10 hours. Even if Suda's assessment that about two thirds of the script had to be cut, that would still only make the Directors Cut 30 hours. If we assume that those actually translate to 20 hours of playtime, which I doubt.
>>741265389No, Silver Case, FSR and 25th Ward are very explicitly a trilogy. The rest is kind of tenuous, except for Travis Strikes Again, which serves as a retrospective on Sudas work. But those three games directly lead into each other.
>>741260701I hope they remaster the PS2 version in English
Doesn't know what he's talking about, never played the games, unintelligent >>741265389Intelligent, in the know >>741267503
>>741267408>Come on, no. K7 is about 10 hoursNah that's 10 hours IF YOU KNOW THE GAME BY HEART, any newcomer isn't doing a 10 hour run for his ng, his game are short but unless you pull a guide near you, you will spend hours on stuff
>>741260871Should have played twilight syndrome games since it's connected to those
>>741260701There's a point in the game where it suddenly throws at you a bunch of concept and a character from TSC which will leave you lost if you haven't played it, though TSC wasn't translated when the DS version of FSR came out in the west so almost everyone went through that experience.
>>741267882I just checked and apparently there is no translations just an attentionwhore on twitter larping about about translating the game to get attention
>>741260701this is the most lynchian game ever made that wasn't directly copying twin peaks
>>741260782
>>741260871you need to play moonlight syndrome first to understand silver caseit's only in japanese so you first need to learn japanese
>>741268293Suda is pretty much a nerdier Lynch. Although unlike Suda, Lynch never got explicitly political.
>>741269496>Lynch never got explicitly political. He did with Lost Highway and Mulholland drive
>>741268293Silent Hill is also up there, but yeah, TSC takes the cake.
>>741260701I thought that was AOC at first glance
>>741260701nothing happens in that game, it's literally 1/10 shovelware where you just walk from point a to b
>>741271719It's not even translated yet, how do you know this?
>>741271757it came out on ds years ago in english
>>741271852So what's this about? why not just copy the DS script into the Ps2 script?
>>741271918God, why waste your time retranslating games that already have perfectly fine translations instead of doing Twilight and Moonlight Syndrome?
>>741260701I played it and still didn't fucking understand it. My japanese is better now. Maybe I should try again.
>>741260871TSC is not that hard to understand.
>>741260701I played it when it came out with no idea silver case existed. I really love shitty early nds 3d games
>>741275437it's not an nds game though, the ds version is a port of the ps2 game
>>741275489yes, I was talking about playing the ds version.
Is the DS port a decent way to play the game?
Suda is kind of an overrated hack
>>741275556Currently it's the only way unless you know jap.
>>741275556I've only played the ds one. There's a book/magazine you need to reference for most puzzles that you access via a menu in the ds game, but apparently in the ps2 version its in your room and you have to go back to read it all the time. Considering 90% of the gameplay is walking back and forth anyway that seems like it would be much worse. The game is mainly appealing for general suda wierdness rather than gameplay, psw probably has better graphics but I found the ds presentation charming
Playing a suda game feels like a breath of fresh air from shit that's ashamed of being vidya, it's like that old arcade feeling is embedded into it
>>741275693You don't need to reference anything in the ps2 version, the puzzles were added for the DS version.
>>741275806Oh really? The puzzles were whatever, ao that's a plus for the ps2 version if you can read japanese. I'm sure I read something about not having access to the brochure being a big deal but maybe I dreamed it.
>>741275693>>741275806There's still some """quality of life""" improvements that make the DS version 5% less intentionally frustrating than the PS2 version, the big one being you being able to steal the hotel errand boy's bike to fast travel to and from the hedge maze. I guess you could say that's missing the point but it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, you're still being interrupted every two steps in the first half of the game and wandering around aimlessly in the second.
its a weird game on itself the ending makes no sense if you didnt play the silver casebut the silver case is a good vn if you want to play this one youll enjoy it toothe first chapter of the silver case is a bit different than the rest so stick around until the second even if you dont like the startthe steam version has an auto solve the stupid puzzles and its available for 5 bucks on every salefor fsr play the nds version in an emulator theres lots of times where you are walking long distances at a very slow pace x10 italso iirc the magazine was pixelated or annoying to look at in some way i used a pdf instead
>>741276223>x10 itDon't do this, there's no point if you don't share in the main character's frustration at being sent on an endless wild goose chase.
>>741276223>the ending makes no sense if you didnt play the silver caseSame as with Killer is Dead. If you don't know about Silver Eyes giving the ability to bodyhop, the ending looks just weird.
>>741276829>If you don't know about Silver Eyes giving the ability to bodyhopI've played it and I didn't know thislol
>>741260782>PlayHow do I play an anime slideshow? Where's the gameplay?
>>741276981the puzzlesit's an adventure game, not an anime slideshow
>>741277029Gee whiz I must've missed those puzzles in my 5 hours of playtime so far.
>>741277127there's one 10 minutes into the game right when you start and get to cauliflower, so yeah you definitely did
>>741275556It's fine. Has slightly worse graphics than the PS2 version but otherwise it's the same.
>>741277189Silenced that poser
>>741277029there are like 3 puzzles in the entire game and they're incredibly easy
>>741275693Im pretty sure you could buy the book in real life and use that. Unless I made that up.
>>741270065The Silent Hill guy actually did music remixes for the menu of The Silver Case remake. Also TSC remake adds a really cool new tie in to Flower Sun and Rain You get to actually see Catherine, he briefcase. And she's cute
>get stuck in a mental hospital for a year>this was the only game I hadI really want to replay it too but oh boy does it not bring up good memories..
>>741260701FSR is the only video game to put me to sleep, TWICE.I'm talking deep sleep where you wake up 4 hours later drooling and completely disorientedYes the last hour or so is kino but its fucking miserable to "play" through.>but its le self aware!!Being ironically boring is still boring. Also its frustrating if you played TSC.To this day that hack suda never properly tied the two games together. 25th ward makes it even worse.
>>741280013Do you?I don't remember that.
It has a lot of characters and events from The Silver Case looped into the story from what I remember. Still not sure if the ending was a real or basically in his mind, since getting caught in a repetitive loop like that where time reverberates and you are trying to figure a way out, is basically what happens when you take psilocybin or LSD.
>>741280165Also people call kojima a hack but mgs4 gives a satisfying ending to snakes story. Not a SINGLE one of the other hackfrauds like suda, yoko ono taro, the 999 guy etc have been able to do this.
>>741280397
>>741260701why wouldn't you play the silver case? if you're interested in it, the silver case is right there, you can play it right now, why are you even asking that?
>>741280397what problems do you have with taros endings?
>>741280697Drip feeding "lore" in 50 different mediums and 3 gatchas is pathetic when all your work is a near 1:1 copy of the plot of megaman legends 2.
>>741280614How should I play it?
>>741280908I've only played nier and nier automata, never needed any gacha to explain what was happening doebeit. Might check out mml2
>>741280958you boot up the game and press buttons depending on what's on the screen
I mean this or does it not matter
>>741281350just play the steam one
When will this Ai bullshit serve some real and translate vidya or is it just a ponzi for data centers to burn water?
>>741282373like years ago?you can use AI to translate japanese for a long time
>>741282423Ok so i can play twilight syndrome in english?
>>741282567sure
>>741282594
>>741282567Technically you can, but it's gonna be a slow, convoluted mess. Using AI for VNs is often easier and faster because you can just use LunaTranslator to hook the .exe but Twilight Syndrome will be running off an emulator, so it won't work.
>>741282785i mean you can just ask claude to make a software that will hook up the ds emulator to iti've done it before for other things
>>741260701yes, it's one of the main characters of the silver case you are playing
>>741282879Explain further.
