I just rewatched my run of spamton and it made me understand something.The scene where spamton tries to fly away at the end or the fight after the fuck squad cut out his wires, but ultimately fails to make any motion and just falls miserably.That scene along with the scene of Kris screaming in the corridor after the fight, they are there to drive across the fact that Kris is hollow, he doesn't have any freedom either and everything Spamton says and does during the fight gets to him, it could very well be possible that Kris can only temporarily separate himself from (you) or he dies/goes motionless like Spamton, not that that relation is wanted either since Kris is clearly not happy about the situation, but relanctantly accepts it.Kris probably died in the shelter and is only around because he made a deal with Gaster in exchange for (you), Kris's part of the deal probably is the same as your mission: Deltarune.

I've been working on my save files and I must say, I think Deltarune's really suffering from a gameplay perspective regarding fighting.Undertale wasn't really much of an RPG, it was like a 5 hour experience where you walk from one end to the other. It was fine if the game encouraged you not to attack people. Even if you did though, as long as it wasn't genocide you didn't miss out on muchMeanwhile Deltarune is going to end up being like a 30 hour adventure with all tons of mechanics...and you aren't allowed to use any of them.I'll bust my ass beating the Knight to get Kris' ultra cool ultimate weapon and then just instead continue using the bounce blade from chapter 2 because I'm not supposed to fight.There's all sorts of accessories that boost your ATK and they don't matter either. Don't even give it a second thoughtYou just know recruits are going to matter, meanwhile you get NOTHING from attacking people since the stats reset at the beginning of every chapter, so you really shouldn't bother.Toby really should've stuck to the "your choices don't matter" from chapter 1 where attacking people or not really didn't make THAT much of a difference. It would've been fine to just keep it as it was in chapter 1 where you can choose to fight or attack and you'll just recruit them all anyways. As it stands this whole game plays kinda weird with clashing design decisions where he wants to make it a proper RPG, and yet you can't play it like one at all
