Does any frog in here explain the song lyrics? Is it just gibberish with character's names thrown in or is there some actual meaning?
Oui.

>>741269595Not a frog, but I have seen a few lines from the songs and they practically explain the state of the Desendre family and things they have done. A few songs will actually give slight spoilers ahead of time, but when you first hear the songs there's not enough context for it to spoil anything. Basically another facet of appreciation you have for the game on the second playthrough.
>>741268595Dude, if it's not an animated show with enough sexuality to awaken an entire generation of teenagers, people don't give a damn about French media outside of France. Expedition 33 not only succeeded IN SPITE of being French, but I daresay it's one of the few existential/philosophical games that isn't actually pretentious; it's just that deep.
It was fun and cool
I did not care for E33.
>>741268595It's really crazy that you can make something super derivative like this with assets that look like they're from the UE5 store and trick people into thinking it's a 10/10 because it has a parry mechanic which only lessens the RPG mechanics AND is shit because of horrible animations AND IT HAS LE FREAKING REALISTIC GARPHICS AND IT'S DARK WOOOOAAAHHLiterally if this game was exactly the same but in an anime style, nobody would give a fuck.

>>741272891Paris IS great, and it's cleaned up a lot in the last decade. Perfectly great for tourism, most shopkeeps even speak enough English to get you through your purchase. But if you don't want that, France has a frankly absurd number of smaller, incredibly nice other cities/towns/villages to visit. Off the top of my head I recommend Bayeaux, Bordeaux, Lyon, Montpelier, Perpignan, Avignon, Rouen, and Lille. And I'm leaving out a bunch of other great cities and villages. There's a reason when Lightning kills god and goes to heaven, it's France.

/v/ niggers really will invent 2 billion different mental gymnastics excuses before they simply admit that Expedition 33 was popular because it's a good game and that is literally the only reason. All your excuses are horse shit and you know they're horse shit because E33 only started gaining traction after release which means nothing about the game's aesthetics are what sold people on the game. It was pure word of mouth spread about the game and it's quality.

>>741277195Why do you give credence to the incoherent ramblings of literal trannies?
All jrpgs I was baited into playing had boring AND repetative gameplay, shitty story, and endless slop writing. Expedition 33 is a tight game in all aspects, I never felt like I was fighting enemies just because developers need to fill the space(well maybe 1 time near the end), the combat is engaging, game doesnt treat me like I have all the time in the world and Im happy to spend it reading(or hearing) endless slop. It still cheats a bit with storytelling by dumping most of the story at the act 2 ending cutscene, and then act 3 is one mission story wise and you watch the ending, I guess videogame storytelling is an issue yet to be solved
>>741277641>Hell, even the ending is a clear black & white case yet people argue about itI always love when people hating a game you like are complete fucking morons vindicating your liking of it.

>>741268595>normalcattle "thoughts"lol
>>741278527>I guess E33 being called a JRPG for people won't don't like JRPGs is correctIt depends on what you call 'core JRPG'. Is it milquetoast shit like Chrono Nigger and Dragon Quest? Or mechanically engaged games like SaGa, SMT and Bravely Default? Because I only like latter and despise the former.t. E33 fan
>>741277915Some books have great stories. Tends to be the American ones though. The Da Vinci Code and Harry Potter were beautiful pop fiction stories.I hear The Brothers Karamazov mentioned a lot. It had some great moments too, though I found the ending kind of unsatisfying and I think people exaggerate how good it is because of the seriousness of its subject matter and its heavy-handed philosophical themes. To me, a book is well-written if the story engages you and makes you care about the characters, the story events are driven by characters who have conflicting motives and often have to make difficult choices, and the dialogue deepens your understanding of the characters.Another good example of good writing in a novel is Twilight. I'd recommend it if you've never read it.
You know how even mundane footage suddenly becomes emotional if you put it in grayscale with some piano playing? That's E33 in a nutshell.
>>741278819If you are alluding to Dostoevsky’s worst novels, then, indeed, I dislike intensely The Brothers Karamazov and the ghastly Crime and Punishment rigamarole. No, I do not object to soul-searching and self-revelation, but in those books the soul, and the sins, and the sentimentality, and the journalese, hardly warrant the tedious and muddled search. Dostoyevsky’s lack of taste, his monotonous dealings with persons suffering with pre-Freudian complexes, the way he has of wallowing in the tragic misadventures of human dignity – all this is difficult to admire. I do not like this trick his characters have of ”sinning their way to Jesus” or, as a Russian author, Ivan Bunin, put it more bluntly, ”spilling Jesus all over the place." Crime and Punishment’s plot did not seem as incredibly banal in 1866 when the book was written as it does now when noble prostitutes are apt to be received a little cynically by experienced readers. Dostoyevsky never really got over the influence which the European mystery novel and the sentimental novel made upon him. The sentimental influence implied that kind of conflict he liked—placing virtuous people in pathetic situations and then extracting from these situations the last ounce of pathos. Non-Russian readers do not realize two things: that not all Russians love Dostoevsky as much as Americans do, and that most of those Russians who do, venerate him as a mystic and not as an artist. He was a prophet, a claptrap journalist and a slapdash comedian. I admit that some of his scenes, some of his tremendous farcical rows are extraordinarily amusing. But his sensitive murderers and soulful prostitutes are not to be endured for one moment—by this reader anyway. Dostoyevsky seems to have been chosen by the destiny of Russian letters to become Russia’s greatest playwright, but he took the wrong turning and wrote novels.
