A classmate phoned him (bit of a big deal to do that back then), parents screened the call obviously, and hearing it was a kid calling and asking for their kid they handed the phone to him. Once the parent was off the line the kid swapped off to a 20/30yo older brother to threaten the home schooler saying whatever shit like "I know who you are, I know where you live, I'll kill you". I guess *69 existed back then, or perhaps the parents did some basic detective work, as they hit back with cops. Real bullying requires cops getting called

The very next year a new kid moved in to our class and started making jokes at the expense of kids who liked Pokemon and it was exactly like the NPC update memes where suddenly everyone flip switched and stopped talking about Vidya openly, unless it was GoldenEye, and then later in elementary school, Pokemon FRLG (but not RSE) The game that sticks out in my mind as "social suicide all in its own" where even a cool presenting individual would be in trouble if it came to light they played it was World of Warcraft in middle and high school. Usually it was a combination of being weird and liking weird games

But if you watched shit like anime that wasnt DBZ or pokemon that was on TV you were getting bullied for being a weirdo.
