thoughts so far?
It's rhythm heaven.
>>741326978I've only done the first two remixes but it's pretty good so far. Megamix was okay, but this feels like a true return to form for the series. Favorite minigame so far has to be the one with the singing squirrels.
Wait did it get leaked
WHAT??? WHERE
>>741326978Can you actually fuck up rhythm heaven? It’s like fucking up tetris or pac man, it has a formula that is insanely easy to follow, yet also has flexibility with the stage design.
>>741329007Megamix.
>>741326978Is this the last first party Switch game?
>>741326978I liked what I've seen so far. One of the few games I'm excited for.
>>741326978I'm waiting to see if there will be a switch 2 version
>>741329007>Can you actually fuck up rhythm heaven?Megamix shows how it can suffer as a game if you only have easy content and spread the difficult or new content apart heavily that you bore the player due to repetition or ease.Melatonin shows how it as a concept can fall apart if you can't play it with your eyes closed either due to some aspect you need to pay attention to visually as a tell or due to the extremely strict timing unless you enable accessibility options. Seriously, Melatonin is both good and bad and a direct example of how rough the genre can become if it's not as polished as it could be like RH games are. Perfecting some of the songs is agonizingly difficult, more so than Moai Do-Wop, the ninja defense ones, Table Tennis, or Monkey Watch. Some of them are straight up as hard as Challenge Train stuff for no good reason.
>>741329137We'll probably find out in the next direct. They kept the 3DS alive until 2019.
I would start a fund to pay minus-8 to do a new animation based on it.
>>741327978It leaked this early? Jesus.
>>741331008I didn't search too hard since I'm not playing a fucking rhythm game on an emulator, but as far as I can tell, no it didn't.
>>741329137If you count it, I feel like if we ever do get WWHD/TPHD they'll do it as a Switch 1 release with 4K support on Switch 2, like they did with SMG1+2.
>>741329137I want to believe they're keeping something for the holidays as a last attempt to break that record
>>741328651XCI probably leaked.
>>741326978Folks, I know pirating is cool but PLEASE buy it. We need this series to endure!
>>741335376I wish but no there doesn't appear to be an XCI/NSP leak floating around anywhere.
>>741326978>no stupid story like megamix>seemingly done away with most of the changes that megamix made, for that matter>may or may not have over 80 games depending on the wording of an official postMy expectations were very low originally given how often Nintendo fumbles bringing back long-dormant series (Tomodachi Life comes to mind) but it's actually not looking too bad.
Do we know if the rpg mode is a full game comparable to atleast Miitopia?
Never tried this series but you Anons have me interested. I am a Theatrhythm enjoyer, would this be up my alley?
>>741336240Rhythm Heaven is its own animal, it's a series of timing-based minigames that expect you to follow along based on the actual rhythm of the musicThat said they're fabulous games and it can't be recommended enough to play them, though I imagine playing the DS game (not the 3DS game) is kind of wonky on an emulator. The GBA game was Japan-only but has a fan translation
>>741336483So like a rhythm based Wario Ware? I'ma check it out anyways. Thanks my brown nigga friend
>>741335403Upboated!
>>741336240What the other Anon said. The game uses sound cues that you need to hit the button on the beat. But there's also visuals, except the visuals start to be distracting and hide any visual cues so it's a matter of following along. It sounds easy and a number of the games are but it's not as simple as you'd think. You won't be doing any crazy expert difficulty beat maps in terms of input as it's generally one button(two at most) with a decent space between inputs but even then you won't find it a walk in the park.Definitely give it a shot though.
>>741336580Not only a rhythm-based Warioware but it's by the same people, Rhythm Heaven easter eggs pop up in Warioware sometimes and vice-versa
>>741329007If the remixes are mediocre like Megamix then definitely
I've played the gba, DS and wii games, but never got the 3DS one since physical version never came out in burgertopia. Is it considered the worst of the series or something? It sounded like it was like that Wario Ware Gold or whatever it was called for 3DS that collected games from across the series.
>>741336886It's neat for what it is but it's too easy, Megamix wants you to farm "skill stars" which are gained by hitting specific parts of each song, and the grading of each game goes from a HEAVILY weighted average based on how you do in a few high-intensity segments of a game, to basically just being your number of correct moves out of the whole game.
>>741336886The first half of the game is watered versions of games and halfway through you get to towers that are basically like the old games (a column of game and then a remix). It's not bad but the new games suck. It probably had some of the best replayablilty though with the challenge mode, you had to go through a set of games with a certain modifier(double speed, having to get nearly perfect inputs) which were actually pretty hard sometimes
The only thing I'm worried about is I don't like the text to speech.
>>741337567You can turn it off
>>741336886>since physical version never came out in burgertopiaYou could have imported it. I have a PAL copy I got from Amazon UK and I'm a burger.>Is it considered the worst of the series or something? The first third of the game is made up of tutorial stages that are 20-30 seconds long and basically only exist to teach you something a normal stage would have done in any other game before it actually let you play it.Every four stages of this you are stopped by a toll booth and told to play a minigame using coins (Gained from beating stags) and if you mess up this minigame a few times you may potentially need to grind coins which I had to do once or twice. You also have to hear the three idiots blather story at you for like a minute for the first time before introducing you to said minigame. The second third of the game is basically any starter stage you can think of that actually is meant to tutorialize you.The last third of the game is actual normal tier 2 stages except like 80% of them are repeats from previous games instead of new ones. There is a side mode called the Challenge Train that increases the speed of games the more you succeed depending on what the challenge lineup is and it still has those 30 second tutorial stages in them. There is a goat minigame that goes up to level 999 and actually doing that is complete insanity and will make you want to shoot yourself. The new games it has are fantastic but it harps on the Karate Fighter game over and over when it's just a mediocre and okay game while you question some of the levels that returned.
>>741337590hell yeah
>>741336886The DS minigames kinda lose their whole point cause they didn't adapt the actual touch controls. It also has a bunch of easy versions of minigames that add nothing and the songs don't have english translations due to localization issues. >>741336969>skill starsThat's a pet peeve of mine, those are placed in the hardest beats of the game but they visualize them on the bottom screen so it defeats the purpose.https://youtu.be/Ax24nR8IRHU?si=5q7ie8ULLlCw-WRa&t=4613
>>741329007Megamix wasn't as good because of the forced storyline, the branching paths, some minigames have easy versions at the start before being able to play the real ones later. They took a simple formula and added a whole lot of unnecessary fluff to it.
REA-DYBUMBUMBUMBUMBUMTAPTAPTAP
>>741326978>Rhythm PaRapist GrooveBold choice from Nintendo there.
>>741339002get in the groove
>metronome simulatorat the bottom of the rhythm game tiers
>>741326978Why does PAL have the retarded need to change a games title for no real reason?
Fuck, this thread. Made me think it leaked early
