What are you building in your rogue trader thread ?
>>
>>741328508
I didn't want to op with it but this is just depressing, story scripted moment in act 2 and its got that number? Doesn't this mean that only 1% of players are actually playing the DLC atm?
>>
>>741328583
The game peaked at the same amount as the previous two dlcs, it's fine

I'm going to open with scout squadx2, 1 more servitor, send the first servitor to build a chapel barracks before breaking off to start a power generator as the second servitor finishes building. Once the barracks is complete start training a force commander, begin research on sniper training for the scouts, and reinforce 1 of the scout squads. If I haven't already made contact with the enemy, build another 1-2 scout squads and start upgrading the existing squads with sniper rifles. Tech to T2, put down a Machine Cult, and spam land speeders until I reach critical mass of 4 and go for the win right there.
>>
>>741328583
I'll replay it when the last dlc is out.

Commissar or Arbitrator for an Officer?
>>
>>741331340
Its just fluff isn't it? I played a commissar soldier and I didn't really find many of the talents that useful, arbitrator being dlc its probably more broken
>>
Game where I can play as a phaeron of a necron dynasty? Ever since Warpforge died I haven't been able to scratch the itch.
>>
bump
>>
I want the Grim Darkness reward because I'm a stupid completitionist but I don't want to A. risk wasting 50 hours of progress because of a failed 96% roll that instantly kills me or B. play on Story/Normal like a toddler or game journalist
So now I'm debating going forward with my Grim Darkness Daring Iconoclast Navy Officer Warrior or doing something actually fun, like full Dogmatic Commissar
>>
>>741332360
Closest you get right now is Mechanicus 2 where your viewpoint character for the necron campaign is a vargard. Also Battlefleet Gothic:Armada 2 which has you play an overlord, though in BFA2 you eventually become a phaeron.
>>
I'm waiting for my mods to not be broken.
>>
>>741335449
Honestly? The rewards just aren't there. Its a long game and if I do a permadeath mode I need to actually concentrate for the entire game every time there's a combat, also the space ship battles are too dicey honestly.
>>
>>741335449
Be prepared to cheat. Not because the game is hard but because the game will inevitably bug out in some way and you can't just go back to an earlier save in an ironman mode so toybox will have to be used to force progress. Happened no less than 3 times for me.

I refuse to replay the game until I'm sure all the DLCs are actually out and discounted and then I'll pirate it. Fuck you for selling me a season pass and then coming out with a second one.
>>
>>741336887
Its complex, kind of, on the one hand they're remembering their roots and still have a fair bit of organic support, for example I preordered a founders pack for dark heresy and I don't mind doing that because I want it to be developed with a free hand, I want it to be the game it can be so I don't mind paying up front and helping with development.

On the other hand they're a pretty sizeable company now and they really need to be able to stand on their own two feet. Cashing in on people's good will with 4 expansions is a little much. I have literally no interest in The Expanse for example so trying to move on from the fans who actually supported you could backfire pretty hard.

I don't actually see what they were going for with that one. Its meant to be like mass effect isn't it? Just make your own mass effect ip, the expanse is shit, its a closed circle, everything that could have been explored within that setting has been done, I will admit that the novella, Drive I think, is an amazing audiobook

Are some of the achievements in the new DLC bugged? I don't care that much, but I see there's an achievement for killing the Eldar ship above the world of the new colony when you come back and it didn't come up after I killed them. Yes, I'm playing above daring difficulty. Or is there another Eldar ship later?

In principle, the design of Idira is moronic. Anyone knowing 40k would shoot her, and anyone not knowing 40k would shoot her.
Only heretical psychopaths would keep her to watch what happens if you drop a hand grenade in a kindergarten. It's like the nuke in Fallout 3: blowing it up is retarded evil with no real payoff but being "le hecking Reddit-evil". Same with keeping Idira, just fucking irresponsible heretical nonsense. She doesn't even have an explosive collar!
>>
>>741344981

hows dogmatic/heretic? I wanna pick the ruthless heretic options but not the retarded "worship chaos next to the inquisitor" ones
>>
>>741341518
>>741341710
What the fuck even is the Expanse? I know people were obsessing over it for like 2 years and then it vanished.
>>
>>741345574
Heretic playthroughs always (at least back when I did one) want to go full heretic, or else you miss the breakpoints you need for the extra quest line you unlock.
I've heard they made it more lenient, but idk.
>>
>>741345674
Basically a popular science fiction novel that already got adapted into a tv series. The main conflict is the brewing tension between the Belter (people who live and work mining asteroids) and the central government of Earth and Mars
>>
>>741345574
Dogmatic is great, lots of options.

Heretic is shit, most of the Heretic items fucking suck, you lose a lot of retinue to gain a word bearer extremely late in the game. Might be worth just to see the extra content they added for it, but I remember feeling like it was a waste of time last time I did it.

You can't even fuck the governor of Janus for going heretic.
>>
No, sorry hahahaha, don't care for your grimdark slop. I'm saving my friends with the power of friendship and if you don't like it I have an emperor given license to be nice.
>>
>>741345867
Is it from the perspective of
>Us rugged laborers know what REAL living is like, unlike those bureaucrats wanting to control everything!
or
>Us laborers are a COMMUNITY and CARE FOR EACH OTHER and need to unionize against the abusive corrupt capitalist government!
Or did they actually manage something more nuanced?
>>
>>741345574
>>741345742
If you do play as a Heretic, don't pick the dialogue option to trash that one colony with the monks. It's a lot of points but you won't need them in the grand scheme of things. There will be better opportunities to increase your devotion later on. Most heretic gear is also meant for psykers, so either play as one or keep Idira close by. Heinrix, Argenta, and Yrliet will undo some of your choices. You might not want them in your party and later on the game will make this decision for you lol
>>
>>741346502
Oh right, forgot about that one.
I enjoyed there's a special gun you get for getting that planet to high level as a heretic, where you lure a priest there and then kill him.
>>
>>741346267
The books are a mystery series, basically the tension between the 2 groups are the backdrop while a secret conspiracy is brewing in the background and the space truckers crew that got stuck in the middle of these world-changing event. Also human first contact with aliens and how that changed humanity. It's more people vs corporation since the main antagonist of the books aren't the government but the corporation that exploid the Belters while testing dangerous weapons.

Protop: Vikings are also angry violent apes, and should suffer the same disdain niggers do. You will not find a violent neanderthal more dimwitted and ugly than the man who thinks vikings are cool.
>>
What's with this hate of expansions? Even old CRPGs like Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 had expansions. Small scale DLC that is overpriced is one thing. Day 1 DLC/expansions, something that was obviously already in game? I can understand the hate there. But making more content for a game that you enjoy seems like nothing but a win.

Voidborn, noble, officer/tactitian. Take the perk that uses INT instead of FEL and dump all your points into INT and do whatever you like with the rest. Awaken unsanctioned diviner when you hit Exemplar and pick the power that boosts INT for maximum buffing. Use your officer desperate measures with nk downside because it halves your FEL which you dont use now. Use the necklece piece that gives you 5 willpower everytime you buff someone for infinite willpower. Make your party unstoppable

Is it really that tight? Never done a heretic run but I remember after kibbels' DLC came out iconoclast 5 became lenient like IIRC I ended with Icono 5, Dogmatic 2 and Heretic 1 with no decisions I felt forced into taking(Blew up rykard minoris, killed all the genestealers, etc...)

There is a difference between being polite and being almost a parody of a saint. Literally rule of thumb in 40k, if they seem to good/nice to be true, they are. The betrayal of the original high priest was obvious for the same reason.
The only people who would realistically be fooled by this are people who genuinely have never interacted with 40k in any capacity before and who don't know what Genestealers are.

Oh right, that quest.

Does Uralon finally have some flavor dialogue or is he still a mute
>>

You can get them all rather easily at this point (especially if you have Jae at your ascension)
All have a few busted items that'd help you or a companion

you can ask him questions on your ship
him and calligos now

Caliggos even have interjections against Trazyn

i regret not bringing uralon to see what he'd say, if he had anything

how's the new dlc compared to the first two?
>>
>>741373747
Augments are fun, Eosgun is a surprisingly fun addition and different enough tech priest and just the seething he causes Pasqal is a good enough dynamic, and the relevant quests with Trazyn are pretty good.

It avoided the pitfalls of Lex, so slightly better than that.
Only drawback is lack of new origin/archetype, I guess

>Doesn't this mean that only 1% of players are actually playing the DLC atm?
No, it just means that achievement percentages are bugged. It has been the case since Void Shadows.

It's funny how my brand new PC back at 2023 chugged there like crazy

That's Unity for ya.
>>
>>741375690
It's owlcat not unity. The game runs worse the longer the save file has run, no idea what the fuck their doing but they aren't culling something that keeps accumulating.

Same issue in Kingmaker and WOTR.
>>
>>741376283
Kingmaker was funny since if you entered House at the end of Fun, the game loaded much faster since it stopped trying to recall the state of every single map and item before that.
>>
>>741376283
Yeah, Unity. Not saying Owlcat incompetence isn't also partially to blame, but Unity is just a complete shitshow of an engine.
>>
>>741376489
No it's not Unity, there's plenty of games where Unity runs completely fine for long periods.

It's not the same as say Unreal Engine where you find the same problems across multiple games. It's literally the stupid russian retards that probably made the first rendition of their game and kingmaker and keep modifying it from that because the original team is gone and they can't fix it or some shit.
