What remakes are actually good and mostly replace the original? The Ys book 1 and 2 remakes on psp and pc are probably the best versions of the game

It has the best music, gorgeous animated cutscenes, and it even combines both games into one smooth experience. I like it better than Chronicles even if both are very good.

Otherwise, it's really hard to pick a game where the remake is truly a straight upgrade to the original game, but I do have one: Revival Xanadu. Take the original game, use a similar color scheme but updated art style, and expand the decent but limited soundtrack into a much bigger and beautiful soundtrack, even touching old tracks up to sound a bit nicer. >>741330538I just finished Felghana, I liked it but it felt like despite the 3d engine they were afraid of departing from its sidescroller roots. Half the levels were 2.5d hallways with no (physical) depth, but admittedly with good verticality. Only the lava zone and castle were proper 3d levels.
