Ralph's new game is coming and thankfully he's got proper funding for it. Though I'm not a fan of the retrofuturism aesthetics he's got going for, beggars can't be choosers. Also Valve is poaching Arkane's devs and imsim people lately. Guess doing nothing is a good gig for industry veterans now.

Wolfeye Studios is the future. Most of the main arkane devs are there now and they’re currently working on a first person ImSim.

Apparently these ad banners were plastered all over billboards, at bus stops and on buses themselves in the UK at least, so that's once again Arkane's fault for failing to attract anyone despite their excessive advertising budgets allocated to them by Bethesda that is associated with all of their games
If people aren't buying it's because they fucked up with appeal.

I thought I would hate this because of the humour, name and disco, but it turned out to be a pretty fun demo.
As long as they take the demo to thoroughly polish it before release, I think it's going to be pretty neato.

So: pretty good. Arkane hasn't done a good game in forever (Dishonored was great, but Prey needed more time in the oven for sure); I never really cared for the Eidos-developed Deus Ex games; Bioshock Infinite was shite so I don't care about Levine.

It really wasn't. It was a basic ass shooter that told you it had a cool gimmick, but it actually just lead you by the nose through everything, so the gimmick was only pretend.

Yeah, I feel some of the developers are a little shy and that the playthrough suffers from a lack of direction sometimes as Raf tries to play and commentate at the same time to fill dead air but I really enjoyed the Lady Boyle episode, especially the ending when they fawned over happier times as well as them sharing memories about Viktor Antonov in the following episode. Hopefully the series gains some traction and they keep playing other titles, I would honestly love some insight into Deathloop but that is a long shot.

The problem with imsim design imo is that the devs are overtly paranoid about players "not getting it" with the way the gameplay works; they have to streamline everything, even the experimental/gimmick parts of the game.

I liked the System Shocks but didn't like a single of Levines games. I liked Deus Ex too.
Liked Dark Messiah + Arx Fatalis.
Disliked: Dishonored and i haven't played the Prey reboot.
However the games that i 'liked' needs to be separated by a huge gap from the games that i loved because i like stealth games more than immersive sims and thus Thief is the best game.
Liked all of the first 3, even Ion Storm one despite acknowledging some flaws like the hub loading and the floating bug (which is still in progress with sneaky upgrade in regards to both issues i believe).
System Shock and Deus Ex are too different from Thief for my liking so the whole grouping philosophy always felt dumb. Mainly because i think less of Deus Ex and SS and I'm always wanting more Thief. Nobody is ever gonna make a Thief clone that matters if they get these games mixed up. I do hope people make Thief fan games i just hope that they can learn the distinction between them. I'm probably just asking for The Metal Age and they'll ignore that.

How can you get immersed in visual vomit? i think there's a point where presentation matters and that takes too many liberties in looking hideous.
I'd rather devs tried making their games actually represent what Deus Ex Invisible War or Thief Deadly Shadows looks like. You can't even claim that I'm being a graphics fag anymore because this is no longer advanced but dated by todays standards.

Had its second chapter added about a month ago. Has a decent amount of content now, although development's much slower than Cruelty Squad. I enjoy it. I vibe with it more than CS.

I think PPR actually has a decent art style that's not remotely as abrasive as that of Cruelty Squad. It's still somewhat crude, sure, but not actively unpleasant.

Even if Arkanes games weren't woke with diversity pandering (Prey was woke too the asian protag was apart of forced DEI not a natural decision, stating it not being white male was intentional.) they'd still fucking suck. I'd dare say Arx Fatalis + Dark Messiah must have been a different studio because it was all trash post that early era.
