I would say TP's introduction is better because the part where shit hits the fan in Ordon Village is a lot cooler (even if it feels more personal on Outset Island), and also because while catching bugs isn't super fun it still beats that overlong stealth mission. As an adult the Forsaken Fortress not that long but as a kid, it feels like forever when you want to just use the fucking sword and shield you JUST got. At least Wolf Link can attack.

Yeah, that's my main issue with TP, they added redundant items or items that became redundant just as quickly as you got them (Slingshot, Wooden Sword, Bomblings), or weren't used much outside of their respective dungeons (Spinner, Dominion Rod). Wind Waker got it right by having all your items have multiple uses outside of their dungeons, with only the armor being the only optional item and you don't need it to progress. I'll even give the Iron Boots the redundancy label but those were more for utility than actual combat.

I binged as much TP dev info as I could find here with the release of Dusklight, and its very clear TP suffered directly as a result of Miyamoto's meddling.
All of the staff complained about his "sob story emails" he would spam them with en masse, bitching about small interactions and mechanics that needed to be implemented. They spent a great deal of development making lots of tiny inconsequential features, coupled with many one off set pieces, all to satisfy Miyamoto.

Considering that his vision for MM was more in line with what would become OoT master quest I doubt that, he has no problems with players paying to play rehashed and slightly remixed content.
The interview states that he wanted a side-story of some description, but that the team came up with "epic tales" aka actual sequel material. The team actively clashed with him over it, he wanted all stages to be completed in less than 3 minutes, he didn't even want boss battles to appear in crossbow training and the less said about Link warping to the future to protect Tokyo city with an AK47, the better.
For all intents and purposes his desire can only be referred to as a mini-game collection even if the team initially interpreted it as a sequel prompt.

I remember being a lil kid and the tv ads for wind waker were showing. I was a massive zelda fan as a kid and was begging my parents for a gamecube despite already owning a ps2

My father looked up the price of one and almost did, but he then asked if i would get any other games than WW and i couldn't honestly think of any so we decided against it

Then the wii came out, fully backwards compatible and it was a total non issue, got a 2nd hand copy of the edition that came with a port of OOT and the special verison of master quest which totally revamped sungeon puzzles rather than just mirroring dungeons
