Timmiebros...
is it "open source" as in they don't care if you fork it and do whatever with it or is it "open source" as in they're only doing it as a PR move and if any fork projects actually arise from it they're going to scream, shit, and close the source instantly in violation of the license the software was released under

Just use git. Sweeny must be seething at Linus torvalds over something mundane.
>>741337127Its better than git dummy
>>741337127Git sucks for vidya version control. This is more like an open source version competitor to Perforce.
>>741337127The whole point is that it's an upgrade to git, because it won't treat your 254gb FULLY MODELED character as a text file and track every change to it as if it has lines, which causes massive file bloat on git
>>741337169In what way?
>>741337127You need git-lfs for git to be usable with Unreal (or Unity for that matter).
Does it make it easier to merge Blueprints? I always have to manually inspect the visual diff of Blueprints in Unreal and move nodes around by hand whenever there's a merge conflict. Same for materials. They added a native MCP in 5.8. I expect to be let down, but if it works well, I'm buying Sweeney a whole box of chewable remotes.
