>way cheaper to make>easier to sell merch>faster to make>good sales if you are active enough So why?
>>741341795Too kiddie or sum shit
>>741341795Nepotism. Modern riches never had a happy or positive childhood. Mascots games usually feature adventure, friendship, cute girls, an a (((villain))) brutally humiliated. Most of them feel too called out by pic related over trying to selfinsert as Jak kek. Modern riches mothers are also jealous hags so they program their kids to hate beauty. Also yeah they can't force to facescan a other one of those non talented nepobabies
>>741341795If there's any wonder why kids are not attracted to video games like they used to be it's because all the companies have basically stopped making games that appeal to them except for Nintendo.
>>741341795becauz games are not kids toys anymore. adult market has way more disposable income than kids
>>741341795Probably something about it being strange to have one character be the face of your company when most people are playing some other franchise from that company. It's no wonder Capcom dropped Mega Man when RE was selling way more
>>741341795Yids hate happy mascots
"Children" games are some of the lowest selling genre of games on Steam, apparently."Mascot games" are, stupidly, viewed by corpo executives as exclusively children games. They also have the problem that all video games do at the moment which is if its not a Fortnite level endless money fountain then publishers aren't interested. So even if Spyro Rayman and Crash are selling millions, and have lots of appeal to adult gamers, because they aren't selling as much as CoD and GTA they aren't interested in a middle-sized consistent hit.But also devs don't help themselves because they feed into the narrative that mascot games are for kiddies by designing all new mascot games to be soft twee inoffensive kiddy stuff, when the actual heyday of platformers the devs were constantly pushing the games for older audiences too, with difficult game design, adult jokes and a little edge.
they attract the wrong kind of fans
