What does everyone mean by DaS games having artificial difficulty? couldn't you basically just say that about every hard game?

What?
>>
>>741349160
i never hear this. I suppose the argument is that there is a great deal of challenge in knowledge rather than execution, and people using meta knowledge leads to the "didn't beat the game" shit
this then also leads to people gimping themselves to make the games difficult, which is artificial?

You have to be considerate, anon.
/v/ is populated by autists whose sole pride is being good at video games. But these autists get old eventually, and their reaction speed begins to flag...
These "pro gamers" lack theory of mind, and cannot handle being bad at video games. Thus, they claim that the video games are cheating against them, and they're too good to win.
They'll say something like "sekiro is a trial-and-error game! It's too fast for any human to react to in real time!" But then brag about how skilled they are at quake surf lobbies or something. No reflective ability. It's really sad stuff.

>there is a great deal of challenge in knowledge rather than execution,
this
the game is way easier on a second go because you actully know where to go and you dont necessarily need to be good...

Trial and error where basically any "difficulty" can be skipped by using a guide. You either know the invisible hitboxes and beginners traps or you don't and the only way to learn them is to die to them once.
>couldn't you basically just say that about every hard game?
No, even if I used a guide in other games I would still have to master the input mechanics in order to progress.

>artificial difficulty
is a term by faggots for faggots who do not wish to learn or adapt
they could bring up something like "there's not enough complexity to fill the gaps in a given encounter" but no, they just cry about healthbars or some shit because they do not understand such concepts to make sufficient criticisms in the first place.

>who do not wish to learn or adapt
you got em bro
>>
>>741349160
Any game where you can beat it naked at lvl 1 is shit.
>>
>>741349659
>only way to learn them is to die to them once
why are modern fags so obsessed with never losing and always getting their way
too many cases recently where games get dumbed down on purpose
>>
>>741350575
i think the problem is once you die its basically something that will never get you again

not like a hard game where you can still make tons of mistakes if you're not focused
>>
>>741350996
a one time learning experience is still a learning experience
you could increase its importance or integrate it with MtM gameplay better, but... they always vouch for the opposite - complete removal/dumbing down.
>>
>>741349659
Everything you said applies to every game

I often hear "trial and error difficulty" but nobody's explained why that's supposed to be bad

Some games are reactive, some games require methodical approach and repetition, some games are both, if you want to watch a movie just go watch a movie
