You'll have a nice time, if you don't try to 100% it, which, unlike the rest of the series, turns into a massive tedium. Play the Definite Mode not the Classic Mode. Otherwise you'll be left with even less impression of Shantae's vacation episode game.If you really like sidescrollers, then you can start with Half-Genie Hero and have a nice time with the least Shantae-like Shantae game. A deserved, fair warning though, it has good amount of content, but it's in modes, where you replay the game. Though admittedly, I was also fighting against the preconception that OG Shantea was great so surely the long-awaited sequel also would be. Any news on the seventh game that they announced awhile ago?Also, Half Genie hero has one of the best soundtracks in a game. Every new stage had some track that made me want to dance despite the fact I fucking hate dancing.
