STOP SAVE SCUMMING!!!
No
>>741395117Game design issue, not mine
>>741395117Unironically why? Why are you against people having fun despite your retarded mechanics
>>741395117Devs can make better games instead. It is the same as steam and piracy, it is an issue for the devs to fix by making better games.
>>741395117Suck my dick, Steven. I WILL reset the save if something unfair happens and there's nothing (You) can do to stop me.
>>741395117Don't tell me what to do fag
>>741395117YOU CANT STOP ME CHEATING UNC!!! ITS MY RIGHT MY PIRATED GAMES!!
>>741395117STOP REROLLING!
If you don't want me to save scum, them don't let me save constantly. Turn it into a currency that refreshes 1 unit per 15min or something.
>>741395191>>741395413>>741395459>>741395474STOP CHEATING in a online tournament.
>>741395117I wish every single game ever released had a save system like Resident Evil 2. A limited resource item, and if you saved in a bad spot you were hardlocked into restarting. I hate pc gaming for ((((save anywhere))), what a retarded concept. Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion would be a much better game if you could only save your game inside of a town after you slept in a bed, and once you were in the overworld you couldn't save until you made it back to a town. Being able to save anywhere is from satan.
>>741395117Rimworld kind of needs it. Colonist death is too punishing
>>741395620how about a currency you need to grind battles forLOL who could ever make a game like that? haha...
I want to replay certain sections of the game and it doesn't have chapter select. How am I going to do that without save scumming or mods?
>>741395819What if we had these....save gems, that are hidden about the map that you had to risk death to find, just for another opportunity to save?
>>741395117I have enough restraint to not save scum in rimworld.I accept the shit just the way it is.The problem with save & load behavior in rimworld is that it significantly modifies your behavior and how you play the game, specially in early-mid game, due to always being able to go back. Then those people give out advice that isn't foolproof, safe or value different things: which is what I don't like. This is exacerbated when people use mods for convenience.Like, someone who saves and loads and is accostumated to playing with that mod that helps randomly generated pawns have better starting skill will be very different from someone like me, who plays on commitment with manual rerolling.
>>741395117>accidentally leave one (1) door unforbidden>colonist jets outside in the middle of a raid to go haul a desiccated rat corpse to dumping stockpile 29>gets killedno I don't think I will
>>741395117Don't put it in the game then
I remember playing a game awhile back where you had limited saves per mission, and the difficulty determined the amount of saves you got. I feel like it may have been one of the earlier Hitmans.
>>741395117>make a game where a single minor mistake either snowballs into a run ender, or induces at least several hours worth of needing to fix the effect>nooooo don't save scum aieeeeeeeee my game mechanicsMay as well make the act of save scumming a game mechanic. At least you can do some kino with that like LobCorp having a monster that remembers its progress even after you save scum, so now you have to worry about it showing up again with the buff you accidentally gave it
>>741396168that's skill issue. all you have to do is set a zone for only inside your base and switch everyone to that zone when a raid happens
>>741396737Yeah no fuck off>loads save
>>741395117Rather, start save cumming
>>741396501Diegetic retries are elegant solution, but few games managed to pull it off tastefully, besides the aforementioned, there's Katana Zero and not much else...
>>741395117>single player game no one cares. kys
I get to do whatever I want in a singleplayer game.
>>741396713>its easy bro just set all 30 of your pawns to a specific safe zone during a raid and then remember to set them all back to unrestricted afterwardsthe fact there's 30 mods for this exact issue is telling
I purchased the game.It is now mine.So now I can do whatever the fuck I want with it.Problem?
Save scumming is a symptom of a game where "losses" don't feel fair.To stop it the player must know how/why/when they screwed up, bonus points if it was a trade-off they decided the outcome of.
>>741396737I can't read this.
>>741396737this is very trueplaying bg3 in honor mode (like ironman in xcom) makes every battle feel more intense and funi pity the fools who cheat themselves out of a fun experience
>fucking gaylo ruined fps with regenerating health fucking baby ass shit>*goes back to some boomer shitter to press f5 after every kill*they really were like this back in the day
My combination of mods can occasionally do some actual bullshit things so reloading happens sometimes.
>>741395117Games are more rewarding when you don't save scum but I can't stop myself. I turn on ironman mode every time but still alt f4 when something goes wrong
I wish, but xcom long war is just too rapey when going in blind. And where is my "you're going to trigger overwatch from a visible enemy when doing that move, do you really want to?"-Alert? The program is already going bad due to me fucking up the air war, so I did end up reloading 1-2 times a mission. The alternative would be sucking it up and restarting I guess, but then I'd have to play it all again, face a new enemy type after 50 hours of play, get my a-team wiped, and have to restart again, and again and again and again
>>741396737I generally agree with this, but nothing in Daggerfall will surprise you when you fail lol. If you fail a random quest all it does is wreck your reputation with the faction who gave it to you. Then your cool reward for not reloading is that you... get to do even more randomly generated quests to grind your reputation up until you can access the services you wanted. If you fail a main quest (yes, that is possible) you just lose.
>>741397010cared enough to reply, you first tourist.
>>741398357ironically with the text mentioning death, that's about the only surprise daggerfall hadoh this red brick "door" that you sometimes have to interact with in order to warp to somewhere in the dungeon? yeah what if we made it just kill you lol!!!!
>>741397370......you are aware browsers have zoom options, right?
>>741395117fuck no save scumming. either no pause or no balls
>>741395117>failure can lead to cool outcomes too ;)Oh? Like what?>you miss out on content :)So sick of this line. The only game that bothered having interesting things happen in failure was disco elysium.
>>741397639>you misclick or the game crashes corrupting your save:)
>>741399339>you misclickskill issue>the game crashes corrupting your savenever happened
>>741395117So if I die to a boss in an action game and have to reload my last save and keep doing that until I don't die, is this also save scumming?
*presses rewind button on my emulator*heh. nothin' pernonnel, kid
>>741395117>We, the game developers, will decide how you spend your time, not you, the playerNah, lmao. Get fucked.
>>7413995071) Yes, if you're on hardcore mode2) Sometimes "dying" to a boss progresses the story
I'M SCUMMING AND CUMMING AOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>741395117
