I wish every single game ever released had a save system like Resident Evil 2. A limited resource item, and if you saved in a bad spot you were hardlocked into restarting. I hate pc gaming for ((((save anywhere))), what a retarded concept. Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion would be a much better game if you could only save your game inside of a town after you slept in a bed, and once you were in the overworld you couldn't save until you made it back to a town. Being able to save anywhere is from satan.

I have enough restraint to not save scum in rimworld.
I accept the shit just the way it is.
The problem with save & load behavior in rimworld is that it significantly modifies your behavior and how you play the game, specially in early-mid game, due to always being able to go back.
Then those people give out advice that isn't foolproof, safe or value different things: which is what I don't like.
This is exacerbated when people use mods for convenience.
Like, someone who saves and loads and is accostumated to playing with that mod that helps randomly generated pawns have better starting skill will be very different from someone like me, who plays on commitment with manual rerolling.

May as well make the act of save scumming a game mechanic. At least you can do some kino with that like LobCorp having a monster that remembers its progress even after you save scum, so now you have to worry about it showing up again with the buff you accidentally gave it

I generally agree with this, but nothing in Daggerfall will surprise you when you fail lol. If you fail a random quest all it does is wreck your reputation with the faction who gave it to you. Then your cool reward for not reloading is that you... get to do even more randomly generated quests to grind your reputation up until you can access the services you wanted. If you fail a main quest (yes, that is possible) you just lose.
