The best part about these mods is the modders showing some love to vanilla weapons and magic that From just outright neglected. There were way too many weapons from enemies that had generic ashes of war and From disappointed me immensely not adding any more frost lightning miracles or death and thorn sorceries in SotE. I'm still way too tired of ER and its length to try out more stuff in the mod, it all has questionable balance too

I tried Reforged once, then uninstalled it, looked up the creator and some of his comments, and immediately understood why I thought it was shit. He made a mod like how some of you faggots on /v/ used to harp on about "you didn't beat the game". Nerf shields, magic, and ranged options, nerf anything that isn't his specific idea of how the game should be played, and then say you made the game better by railroading the player. Oh, and the balance is dogshit, as has been mentioned at other points in the thread. Convergence is definitely a bit too easy than base once you have a build, but at least it gives you freedom to play the way you want, and the additions are all well done.

The "character quests" just tell you where to go to get the items you want. That's what how ubisoft designs things. All those arteria leaf and rune pickups are a consolation prize for players who explore off the beaten path. Rune fragments, on the other hand, are fucking everywhere, and there's a ton of them in obscenely obscure locations.These two problems go hand-in-hand. No one wants to ride around the rim of the map for an hour just to collect 33 glowing rocks, each of which is 1/10th of a 1% increase to X stat.

I played Reforged on master and it was going smoothly until I fought this lightning rune bear. I stubbornly beat it then lowered the game to adept because holy shit that fight was cancer, it's just a rune bear but there's lightning around a watery arena and you gotta stay on small desolated ruins which can also spawn random lightning strikes. It was dumb, though mostly just because I was in master mode with a big weapon which is heavily punished since everything has a lot more HP, you do less damage and stance damage too. The fire lion at Radahn's castle was pretty good though.The worst part about Reforged weren't the rune frags, it was the fucking gacha system they put in the game. Ash duplication (a feature I admittedly never used to begin with, like most people I assume) is replaced with making you have to roll for ashes of war with specific traits and rarities. What the FUCK were they thinking?

I've fought that boss probably a hundred times in NR already so obviously that helps, but the reforged version didn't suddenly catch me with any unexpected behavior, and missing the surge sprint didn't result in any scenarios where I couldn't avoid getting hit. If it bugged out for you, well that sucks, but the version I fought is head and shoulders above the fight it replaces.

Obviously if you're on the other end of the arena you're not getting much out of it, but if you're close enough that you have to deal with the attacks then you do get enough time for a charged heavy, or more with good positioning. In Fulghor's case it's more like 4 seconds and if you end up behind him as he's doing his final big ground explosion you can get like 4+ colossal weapon charged heavies. The horse is a crutch in this case, you don't need it and you're better off not using. In NR it comes with a big stamina cost to discourge spamming it.
