The bosses are really baffling to me honestly. There is real, considered flow and design when it comes to player vs enemies but like half the bosses have almost no real design where you can't use like 90% of your attacks on them, attacking them in general is inconsistent, and some of them can punish you hard for doing anything requiring people to rack their heads for hours to find esoteric strats to be "consistent". I genuinely don't understand what happened when they were designing these bosses, especially when you have others that are much more straight forward like Doku

Nelo Angelo, Griffon on the ship, and the last encounter with Nightmare also raped me constantly. Also you only have ONE healing item at a time and you have limited lives, running out of lives makes you restart from the beginning of the level. And the final boss fucking sucked. Ninja Gaiden is easier than DMC1.

While encounters may be larger, It's a much easier game until you get to the hardest difficulty

I finished on MN months ago, after VH MN doesn’t seem that bad unless you’re doing the challenges you find through the campaign. It legit took me more than an hour beating the 120 berserks and is not even the worst one. Few games have made me through them 4 times in a row, NGB did an became one of my favorites. The boss fights suck was though.
