>buy a PC>put it in the living room>install SteamOS>Steam Machine instantly becomes obsolete before it even releases
Don't do this, it creates mustard race gas
>>741463490this guy is specifically a PS shill, which is what the whole industry is
>>741462780>buy a PCExcuse me?
>>741462780Wasn't a big reason people liked the Steam Machine so much was because it had proper HDMI CEC functionality? If someone manages to make an adapter that would make any pc work well on a TV they'd be rolling in money
>dumb npc:/>dumb npc, japan<3
>>741466686me dumb, what does this mean?
>>741462780I thought SteamOS wasn't released yet? That it was restricted to Valve's hardware.
>>741462780Isn't this tweet old? I'm still waiting for the current SteamOS to be made available.
>>741467616It means the TV turns on, it wakes the PC automatically. The PC sleeps, the TV turns off. HDMI-CEC is a very weird version of the signalling that tells a monitor that it's idle and it can sleep.
>>741462780>Took the steam machine to wake up console niggas and anti living room fagsBased Gaben does it again
>>741462780Wow, no PC gamer has ever built a PC before
>>741462780It is more feasible to make your own "steam machine" if form factor and console like features like HDMI CEC and native controller pairing are not desired. I'm definitely opting for making my own because I have my own parts and the form factor is not an issue, but I do see the value in a mini PC that is geared for gaming rather than web browsing. I just hope it's not too expensive because the more people adopt it the more steam OS will be supported by valve and by extension Linux will get support as well.
