>The world calls for wetwork, and we answered. No greater good. No just cause.>Also don't kill those black kids Boss even though our client asked for it.
>>741479029It's because Kaz is lying when he says he's just doing it for the money. His primary motivation is revenge. He is speaking as someone who has watched every grand cause in his life collapse into manipulation and he's sick of it all. >The Cold War ideologies were power games.>MSF's dream was destroyed.>Cipher's promises were lies.>Nations use soldiers and discard them.>Revolutionary rhetoric becomes bureaucracy and corruption. He's not rejecting morality, he's rejecting the moral legitimacy of states, ideologies, and leaders. It's a common psychological endpoint for veterans, mercenaries, and cynics IRL, loss of faith in institutions while retaining a personal moral code. There's also a strong element of self-deception in Miller. He constantly tries to present Diamond Dogs as harder, colder, and more ruthless than they really are.Look at what Diamond Dogs actually spends its time doing:>Rescuing prisoners.>Extracting civilians.>Saving children.>Giving displaced people a home.>Providing medical treatment.>Protecting animals. For an organization supposedly beyond morality, it spends an astonishing amount of effort on humanitarian projects. This fits Kaz's character because he's angry, traumatized, and obsessed with revenge. He wants to believe he's become a hard-eyed realist who has abandoned idealism. The rhetoric serves to numb his The Phantom Pain™
>Everynight I can feel my leg>*Unzips dickWhat did Kojima mean by this?
>>741479029This game had such amazing trailers. Shame it got canceled.
>>741479616If you've never played it I would still highly recommend MGSV even acknowledging that it's only 2/3rds of the game it should have been story-wise. Partly because the most major theme/motif of the game actually conveniently augments the fact that it's an incomplete game with its climax and ending amputated. You can read the whole game a metacommentary on Kojima's experience dealing with Konami, which is pretty neat even if not intended, but I think it was at least partly intended
>>741479029Probably the most tragic character in the series.
A dud!?
>Why are we still here? Just to suffer Every night, I can feel my leg... And my arm... even my fingers... The body I've lost... the comrades I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you? I'm gonna make them give back our past!Kino

>Boss, remember when an interdimensional wormhole opened up and banished all the MSF survivors to the shadow realm? Better ask Huey about it, probably the work of Cipher.
