This is the best they could do in 13 years?
Even Cyberpunk 2077, a game released 6 years ago, mogs the shit out of this.
>>
Cyberpunk still runs like shit unless you use upscaling and frame gen if you want to max the settings though. Don't get me wrong this looks like shit but a lot of people seem to have memory holed what CP77 was on release and how it ran at release. GTA6 is supposed to run on ps5, of course it's going to look like shit and you'll enjoy your cinematic 24fps with dips.

It doesn't matter anymore how CP2077 was handled at release. The game works fine now. The point is moot considering that Rockstar is a massive company and Redprojekt is a tiny slav company. All in all, it makes the comparison even more relevant.
>>
>>741483362
Yeah, they're so scared of showing daytime that they kept doing it in both trailers.

>>741487074
The push for realism is leading to diminishing returns, and Rockstar can't do much about it. But there is still a leap between V and VI, especially with the draw distance and overall details.

I'm not really feeling anything from anything they've shown of this game. It looks visually incredible, but both trailer 1 and 2 have been actually bad trailers, they don't seem very inspired at all, it's a massive, massive step below their past trailers, especially gta4 and rdr2

just compare the first trailer of rdr2 to the first of gta5

>>
>>741489567
You're the one grasping at straws. The trailers and bullshots they gave us for years can't run on current gen consoles. What is done last during developement? Bugfixes and optimization. The realease date was changed twice because they needed time to make the game runs at a decent framerate on consoles.
The final result will have a much lower npc density, lower resolution, lower volumetric light, cloud and particle effects, more aggresive LOD, "hybrid" RT reflections (very low resolution RT combined with SSR) like Metro Exodus did 7 years ago, etc

Cyberpunk is a pretty shell with next to nothing happening in it's open world, it's very very static. NPCs are like cardboard cutouts. GTA games have much more sandboxy worlds with simulations/interactions happening around the player, so they can't just focus on nice visuals like cyberpunk does.

go ahead, follow an npc around, get on a bus (without aggroing the driver) watch what happens in each game, spoiler the bus despawns with you on it (gtav)

also if you walk around as a civilian for long enough in gtaV you WILL just get shot by gangs for no reason or arrested for nothing. there is no smart logic

>>
>>741481746

It's a politics thing, actually.

During the extremely long dev time of GTA6, Cyberpunk was released in a poor state AND had enough work and time to actually get good.

Now, the EU is threatening to basically boycott GTA6 as a way to punish Rockstar North (a British company) for leaving the union a few years back. Basically, they're saying, if you re-join the EU you can have success here, otherwise GTFO. So Rockstar is now lowering the quality of assets and overall size of the game to not overshadow CP77 (which is made by a Polish studio, which is part of the EU) to basically fly under the radar of the EU.

The fuck it is. The most popular GPU on Steam is a 3060 and most PS5 owners run performance mode rather than quality (RT) mode. And most games are still built around raster. We are in year 8 of raytracing btw.

NPC gets hurt? Ambulance turns up. Car on fire? Fire Engines turn up. Normal NPCs getting into fights if they aggro each other. NPCs stealing other NPCs cars. NPCs mugging other NPCs. Gangs patrolling and turf fights if they cross paths. GTA games have lots of these kind of AI driven interactions & reactions that don't just revolve around the players actions. It makes the world feel more alive. and then on top of that it has the random events.

Cyberpunk has next to none of the former, and instead just has a few random events and static events (like cops vs gang shootout) that respawn in the same place over and over. CDPR are good at characters & narrative, but they suck ass at the sandbox element of open worlds.

It still runs like shit even with upscaling and framegen.

I'm surprised people are still bringing up Cyberpunk.
