do you have any memories playing vidya with your father?
>>
ill never talk to that piece of shit again i shouldn't have had to handle my brothers funeral he should have done it
>>
My dad has schizophrenia and a retarded southern accent and was homeless but now lives in assisted living. Only time I knew him was when I would visit when he took care of his parents. He only met my mom because they did meth together.
>>

My father played a lot of Doom 3, CoD WaW and MW1 after work as a surgeon.
>>
>>741554009
In the late 90's my dad brought a bunch of pirated games on a CD he got from a guy at work, obviously pirated. Back then there were barely any ways to get games legally here (ex-soviet country) I think even that CD originated from Finland most likely.
Don't remember all the games there, but there was the OG GTA, Ignition and Little Big Adventure 2. I played the shit out of them.
>>
The only game he ever played with me was house of the dead 2 cuz I had the light gun and let him use it. Maybe deerhunter 1 on PC in like...2004
>>
My father didn't played, but he liked to watch me play Gran Turismo.

He died 4 years ago from complications of untreated Diabetes (He refused to follow the treatment)

Depending on your father there’s a game he can boomer out on like truck simulator or red dead redemption 2.

My father died in a car accident over 20 years ago

My dad is/was an abusive drug addict and I remember playing the original RE2 while he was passing out on heroin in the room with me when I was four

My father despises vidya games
>>
>>741554009
He was never interested in video games. His hobby was music and collecting it. He did buy me games when I was younger.

He died suddenly in April. I miss him everyday.

>woman hating boards all over 4chan the minute you ask about their relationships with their father

it's right in their face and chuds still never get it

Used to buy bootleg discs for my hacked PS2. Dad bought a copy of Ace Combat Zero but for whatever reason it was the original japanese version. We played it for 10 minutes trying to figure out what to do and then stopped. I still have the disc :)

my dad used to play Supaplex on a 286 pc he bought, i deleted his save when he beat all 111 levels. can't remember why.
used to play CMR2 daily, literally spending hours to beat each other's times by 2 miliseconds
his fav racing game must've been NFS:Porsche, beat it multiple times
>>
>>741554009
The only game my father ever played was Sonic Spinball
He beat it

There was that one time when me, dad, and big bro were playing this bowling vidya he got for the Playstation. Was fun with the three of us trying to get strikes and laughing at the goofy animations.

Couple years later my mom would get more narcistic and my dad's drinking would get even worse. Divorce, see on the weekends, then he decides to move to New Jersey for some reason. Regular family gatherings on the holidays would just fade away because everyone was going through divorces. Dad later dies from liver failure after not speaking to him in 10 years. I still wonder why I didn't cry at his funeral.

Same for me. I kinda wished I could have talked to him face to face one last time, just to air things out and get past things.

My father dipped when I was super young, and my various step fathers through the years were abusive alcoholics who also dipped. I am breaking this trend by staying sober as a judge, and doing everything I can to help raise my son. He likes to watch me play a game sometimes, so I have to pick some of that one aren't going to fry his brain. Softer games like "Is this seat taken" and Animal Crossing are the right ones to show him, but he gets excites when he watches me play more exciting games. I am walking a tightrope by showing him sonic 1-2-3 (and knuckles)
>>
As a kid me and my dad played retro games like Battle City, Contra and Chip n Dale. Several years ago I pirated NFS:MW and GTAV for him. He ignored the story missions and just drove around the map, crashing into people.

Silly anon, father's day is in November.
Anyway, not really, the most he's done is help install some games on his work laptop in my childhood and also occasionally buy me some games back then. He's never been into them himself.

My dad died when I was 10 from his pack a day + 6-pack a day habit.
He had no particular interest or disinterest in games.
>>741559362
Good work anon, you're doing well. Unironically the kind of person the world needs now more than ever
I honest to god wish I was doing as good as you
>>
>>741558614
My dad hated that game lol, said it was hideous. But he could play, he beat revenge of shinobi which I never have.
>>
My dad and I used to play EverQuest (hen later WoW) together. Some of my fondest childhood memories were of the two of us in his office, playing side by side.
He was an abusive asshole with anger issues when we weren't playing, so those moments were some of the only times I actually felt like I was bonding with my dad, like he actually loved me, even though odds are he just didn't want to go through the hassle of finding someone to group with consistently.
>>
>>741554009
I barely interact with my dad really and when I do he's just berating me for being a failure even though I'm in a fucking PhD program in Electrical Engineering just because I live in his house. Any good memories of him have long since vanished.

All I know is that when I have kids, I'm actually going to be a father to them rather than a nuisance .

Yeah we play Call of Duty Warzone together. I don't care for the game but he thinks it's fun.
>>
>>741554446
did you avoid inheriting his schizo gene?
>>
>>741554009
lol was one of these "computers are evil"
and when he cooled off i got bottom of the barrel garbage, while being kept on a tight leash not to have shred of independence
>>
>>741557908
It’s dad coded. They don’t want to play bing bing wahoo they want John Wayne simulator with fishing.
>>
Seeing my no-nonsense lawyer dad secretly be a Galaga wiz was something I didn't expect to witness in high school. I can't remember the location or why we were there, but there was a Galaga machine and despite him being the reason I got into gaming I never seen him pick up a controller or play a game in my life until that moment.
>>
You guys are terrible for talking shit about the men who raised you on a day like this. It doesn't even occur to you that they made sacrifices and went out of their way to bring life into this world. So what if a dad has problems? So what if he's "abusive?" As long as he never physically harmed you, that means he did his job. Lots of young people think that having a distant parent is a bad thing nowadays, while others think helicopter parents are the worst ever.

>>
>>741561172
I hope so. His brother also has schizophrenia and tried to kill his girlfriend with a katana and went to prison.
>>
My dad wasnt much of a gamer. He liked unreal tournament on dreamcast. He turned and twisted his body playing. I know when I moved out he played fishing on my old ps2. I miss him. Wish he got to see his grandkids. Happy father's day to any dads

One time my old man passed me the controller for Silent Hill 2 while he made some coffee. Was shitting myself in the apartment part of the game. Good times and I'm glad he let me play Resident Evil and GTA vice city etc.
>>
>>741554009

Mine is in his seventies and only plays solitaire word games bubble shower ganes on his iPad now but we used to play n64 and ps1 together alot first consoles he played since the 2600. He loved "scrimbo bimbo" games. He never had that big of an interest in anything past gen 5. We played wii sports a few times and he tried PSVR once or twice but that was it. But I have good memories of playing n64 and ps1 games with him
>>
>>741565884

>>
>>741554009
Not a single one
>>
>>741554009
He tried Diddy Kong Racing like once. Now I play games with my own kids.
>>
Yeah, we play together sometimes over discord, and when I come to visit we usually play fighting games; he raised me into the hobby, I've been playing pretty much for as long as I've been alive.
Fuckin love my dad, he dropped his shitty drug addict lifestyle to be a proper father to me and my sister while our mom stayed unemployed, sexting with other dudes all day and playing Facebook shite until they divorced. Luckily, he's the one who got custody, me and my sister probably never would have seen him again otherwise, and probably would have gotten molested by one of Mom's pedo exes. She's chilled out significantly now, though, and has matured a lot; me and my sister visit her from time to time.
I feel like seeing all of these other anons complain about their shitty dads explains a lot. I'm really sorry you fellas don't have better family.

My dad hasn't played a video game in his life. Closest he ever got was test-playing his own board game simulation he did as a coding project.
