Every new idea is combination of existing ideas. Prop hunt is just hide and seek but you can transform into furniture. Neither of those are new concepts either, but prop hunt was still unique.

Getting a windfall of money would be nice but Id rather not pull the slot machine arm that is the algorithm over and over in hopes that a single game picks up traction.
I just make things that I like. Sometimes friends like them too. A few times theyd gotten popular enough to DDoS my download server. Some ideas I didnt like so I stopped work on them. Its a mixed bag but I enjoy the creative process. Been toying around with board game design lately, it helps that my wife and kids (7 and 10) enjoy this creative process too.

This but unironically. I don't doubt that I could churn out AI-drivel that could hit the right markets, I'm just too proud to lower myself to that level. Kind of the same reason I don't make money by scamming old people, there's a moral and social barrier that prevents me from bringing that kind of evil into the world.
