I dont give a shit about final fantasy, and i dont like nioh at all but i have not heard a single bad thing about this game (besides that it ran like dogshit)So im inclined to play it one dayWhats a spoiler free qrd of its pros and cons
I can't fucking stand Chaos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3t5Ni1RW8s
>>741650813Pros:1. Some of the best build diversity of any action RPG out there. 2. Insane amount of customization and flexibility in playstyles. Way more than Nioh, actually. 3. Top tier boss roster with zero gimmick fights. Nothing like Lady Osakabe or Taotie in this game. The closest TN has come to a perfect boss roster.3. All jobs can be made viable. 4. Combat pacing is insanely fast.Cons:1. Runs like ass even on top-tier hardware.2. Looks like ass. Environments look like PS2 environments. 3. Endgame is very grindy.
>>741651480>Runs like ass even on top-tier hardware.cititation neededI bet you're like those people complaining about performance in Dragon's Dogma 2 while trying to run the game on a Pentium 4 1.5Ghz cpu.
>>741651480sounds like it perfectly fits my tastes, ps2 environments and all
>>741651480Pro: co op
I believe in Jack's strength.
>>741651787You are the only one that thinks Jack's game doesnt have horrible performance issues. You cannot run it above 60fps without slowdown even on a 9800X3D>t.9800X3D
>>741654750Works on my machine>t.a mere 7950X3D
>>741647434>Game is 5 years oldWhere has all the time go?
>>741654876Post your soul bursts with metrics displayed showing 90 and 120fps.
can you play this without knowing or caring about final fantasy frens? considering getting it bc i love Nioh
>>741647434Never played the DLC. Sometimes I feel like I should return to the game and play it.
>>741655817Yes, but it's not like Nioh much in terms of moment-to-moment gameplay. It's a reimagining of the first Final Fantasy game with some Dissidia stuff going on, doesn't require any prior knowledge at all. When the game was coming out I was afraid it was going to end up being worse, less complex Nioh, but that's not what it ended up being (That was Wo-Long instead). It's much more based on your jobs and their abilities. It does have the Nioh thing of expecting multiple playthroughs and gear mattering quite a lot but only at later stages/difficulties. DLC is quite involved, but the last one is especially grindy. I happen to like the grinding part of these games, so that worked great for me, but it depends on taste.
>>741652838Then this is the game for you
>>741656430>It does have the Nioh thing of expecting multiple playthroughsI played Nioh 1 and 2 only doing a single playthrough and enjoyed it just fine, didn't feel any need to get into loot and build autism. Would SoP be satisfying playing it the game way?
>>741655817Yes. I actually put it above Nioh 2 because the combat is much much MUCH faster due to lunatic and haste, builds are way more creative and indepth and the music, story and characters I just found alot better. I did not expect this game to be this good but this is my personal take. I also slightly prefer Nioh 1 over Nioh 2 nowadays because more focused combat with less bloat and your movement speed is way better. Nioh 2 is just too fucking slow.
>>741656640That's an alien way to enjoy those games to me, as I felt they really shined brightest on Nioh difficulty, but if you enjoyed those just on the one run, yeah, you'd probably like SoP if you find the different kind of combat fun? Skip the DLC then though, it actually requires you to do the higher difficulty stuff.
>>741647434More importantly, who was Chaos?
>>741656805The friends we made along the way.
>>741649517>Linkin Park mashup with MGS and DMC5
>>741655817More aggressive, streamlined version of Nioh's combat, with FF job system (basically classes in RPGs) + party members. Story is pre-FF7 crystal bs (positive) and you are only here for Jack's quips.Haven't played DLC, but I've heard it's high level stuff.
