OH SHIT
>>
Downloading right now. Will post anything special.
>>
nu-/v/ doesn't care because it's not friendslop or outrage bait
>>
-Demo has four minigames, one remix, and one multiplayer minigame.
-Fourth minigame has a vocal song sung by Yui Sakurai from Fruits Zipper, which is not dubbed into English.
-Scoring is like older games, not Megamix (no bar, just Superb or OK, etc.)
-No option to change narration language, but none of the audio cues or music is different in English from Japanese.
>>
It was fun of course. Already had it preordered anyway.
>>
Its peak.
A few meh points

Just downloaded.

>>
>>741674613
For what it's worth, based they said there's 80 minigames, and the demo clarifies that's just single player, and there's 30 more on top of that for multiplayer. Depending on whether remixes are counted as minigames or not, it's either 16 remixes or 20 remixes, which would be insane. I can forgive not all the remixes being themed if there's that many.
>>
progress from the demo carries over to the full game so go ahead and get those medals and the ring now

>Please note that save data from the trial version can be carried over to the full version. If you clear Stage 1 in the trial version, you can start playing from Stage 2 in the full version.

Wow I SUCK at the hoop one. The others are no problem, but the cue for that one is always later than I think
>>
>>741674760
I'll be pissed if they make the all mini-game remix split into 2 again.
I don't care if it would be 15 minutes, make it one giga remix.
>>
I hate that fucking dog.
>>
Did they say if we're getting a JP audio option yet?
>>
>>741675198
There's no option to change the text-to-speech narrator to Japanese, but you don't need it for anything else. At least in the demo, there's no difference in any of the music or audio cues between English and Japanese. They didn't dub the song that's in the demo.
>>
>>741675198
Based on the fourth game in the demo it's Japanese music vocals only, it has a vocal song and it plays in Japanese even if you're playing in English.

Finished up the demo (least the single player) and all in all i’m extremely happy with the game. My favorite thing about it is the fact that it isn’t afraid to have a bit of challenge to it. Megamix overall (especially in its earlier levels) felt way too easy, especially with some games getting easier versions. Meanwhile it took me a handful of tries just to get through the fourth game with a perfect. If the rest of the game holds up like this then I could say it’s well in the running to be the best in the series. Music’s bitchin’ too

you should try the multiplayer too even if you're playing on your own, you just need to switch between the two joy con (or whatever set of controllers you use) playing rhythm tweezers

it would be nice if they added a friendless loser mode for people like me though

Funnily enough the dog one’s my fav of the collection precisely because of how tough it is (along with a pretty good song). If anything I wish they took full advantage of itself to really make it complete bullshit. Multiple disc one after another, offbeats, etc. I demand Disc Dog 2

Different count, from 5 to 7, but it doesn’t matter much given the different presentation making it feel new. Hell, you can technically break down a lot of minigames throughout the series as basically being the same thing. Rhythm tweezers, working dough, and first contact all share the same gameplay of copying the initial rhythm
>>
Won't play it, but see you all when it releases
>>
I should have gotten my headphones for the demo.
>>
So every other non-megamix rhythm heaven game has about 50 minigames including remixes and sequels, and 24-28 unique games. That probably means there are about 40 unique games out of the 80 going by that.
Does this mean that the final remix will be split like megamix, or are they gonna manage to cram them all in one? I really hope it's all in one, even if it makes it the longest stage in the series.

Goddammit, but considering cheaper Switch games get to be sold for even cheaper her after a month or two, I might as well wait a bit. Pretty fun so far and I'm a sucker for japanese songs in Rhythm Heaven, so I'm happy that they weren't localized. I hope they bring back older minigames.

I think it'll be split be like 50-30, previous games had 7 rows of uniques and 3 rows of sequels
>>
>>741677670
There is perfects in the series, but not in this demo.

Flow is basically a cumulative score between all games. Don’t worry about it, it doesn’t do much if anything.
>>
>>741677880
Rhythm issue
>>
>>741677670
Perfects can only be attempted when the game prompts you to "Go for a perfect" and will give you 3 attempts to do so. The frequency of them appearing scales with the amount of Superb medals you've collected. Reason being they don't want you to just grind the same song forever. Whether you appreciate that limitation or not varies depending on how deep into rhythm games you are, but it's been this way since the GBA so it's staying that way.
Flow is measurement they that basically does nothing but more or less is a progress completion metric. It's pretty meaningless since you're going to gauge your progress by medals and perfects anyway.

First tried the medal for each game, I'm pretty satisfied other than the remix which really should have gotten a theme. Dog frisbee was the most interesting because it's basically Exhibition Match but harder and it actually has some variance on where in the beat the cues happen. Makes me hopeful that the game won't fuck around when it comes to difficulty

consider this cope, but im starting to wonder if remix 1 in this is a demo remix, i thought i read in a prerelease article that the dog frisbee stage was a "later stage", i think they even said it was in the same set as the kitchen stage, but i dont remember for sure, so maybe these are randomly selected games for the demo with a quickly put together remix? but idk why theyd go through the effort for that, so idk, but that might be why the remix lacks a theme
>>
>>741688602
I hope so. Remix 1 is just so short and relatively simple.

never mind, because i found the article and was actually mixing up disc dog and hop stop n roll :P based on what the article says, this is the actual first set

I don't think it's likely. The trailer said all the minigames were completely new and they haven't shown a single returning minigame. The only returning ones have been in multiplayer stages, so fan club could be there but I dunno if it seems like it'd fit multiplayer.

count to seven, press the button on "se" and the dog grabs the frisbee at "ven".

As far as rhythm games go, it's pretty simple, but there's enough challenge and lots of absolute bullshit minigames like Moai Doo Wop. I think the GBA game was the hardest overall though because a lot of the games involved multiple buttons instead of just pressing a single one along with the rhythm.

not every game is, but most Nintendo games are (I think the exceptions are super mario odyssey and Pokémon games which have an in game language selection if i remember correctly, some japan exclusives which just don't have a translation, and splatoon 2 which has different versions per region and as such they only have the applicable languages)

Rhythm Heaven scoring works as a weighted average, it wants you to do well in some song-critical moments and not overall performance
>>
>>741709887
the series is really low difficulty compared to most other rhythm games. it gets tricky when you're going for perfects on the harder stages, but just getting through them normally is generally easy
I mean, the demo is free, no reason to not give it a try
>>
why are people on resetera saying that this demo is rubbish and that the old games were better?

I think the wording they use for stuff is just shit. Like for the TV adjustment they say hit when you hear 4. But if you hit ON 4, then it completely fucks with the actual timings. I went back, hit after hearing 4, and now I'm doing much better.

Bluetooth is fine, it's the dogshit switch hardware that the problem. How that much delay was considered acceptable to put out is beyond me, or how it's exactly the same with the switch 2.

Muse Dash and Touhou Danmaku Kagura are my go-to rhythm games. People also highly suggest DJMAX Respect, but that game is filled with literal hundreds of paid DLC music packs and there's some fear of the game shutting down because it's online only. There's also Pump it Up Rise and they designed the charts to be played on keyboard.

If you want something similar to Rhythm Heaven, as in more chill and casual, Rhythm Doctor and Melatonin are pretty good too.
>>
>>741725870
Patapon Replay if you haven't played them already.
>>
>>741727041
it's still pretty noticible even with good BT buds and a new phone, try reading lips on videos or playing a round of im@s and you'll know it's still there
>>
https://youtu.be/YtTMt7Ztac0
>>
>>741727041
It varies depending on the hardware, and in addition, a lot of devices will deliberately stagger video playback to keep it in sync. You might not notice, but there's a fraction of a second longer of a delay when you click play if you have bluetooth headphones in on your phone or PC most of the time, so the video is synced with the audio. The Switch does none of this (not surprising, it's a gaming device not a video player), but it also has worse latency in general than most devices. It's one of the worst systems you could use bluetooth headphones on and the devs of Rhythm Heaven clearly knew that since they put the warning at the start.
>>
>>741727041
you are literally braindead. holy shit.
