I really want to upgrade for the Frame but I probably need a both a new CPU and GPU. My CPU is an older socket so I'd have to get a new mobo too. So.. I'll just stick with my Quest 2.

I don't need it. It's stupid. The games I do play run great. There isn't anything super demanding on the horizon that I want. Plus, I'm fine with turning down the settings a little to stretch a card's life. It's dumb. I don't need a new video card.

A lot of people have this fantastical idea that one day they'll wake up and "The prices will be normal", like, they'll just randomly go back to being how they used to be one day.
That's not how it goes.
They'll reduce the price slightly, see how many people buy it at that. Reduce the price a bit more, see who they can get, and just keep doing that for years.

Oversimplification but the memory controllers for most desktop CPU's aren't robust enough to run 4 x modules above the JEDEC rated standard, so your computer probably won't even boot with the XMP/EXPO profile configured, assuming all 4 sticks are completely identical.

Refer to your motherboard QVL for what frequency and timings to expect with 4 x kits.

If your gpu is old and those fans are running nonstop like jet engines, that factory paste has dried out into dust. Look up videos on how to peel your particular card open, usually a connectors for the fans you might need to carefully unplug, and just clean it off and repaste it like a cpu, the thermal pads should be fine to keep going I think.
Pic is from my old pc's stock intel paste after a few years, my current gpu was kind of similar after a few as well, but I didn't photograph it when I repasted. Fans stopped going jet engine mode right after.

This is an old vulnerability that's already patched. Even when it wasn't fixed, it'd require you to do some stupid shit like ssh into an attacker's server, curl a malicious url, etc. By that point if you're doing stupid shit like that, any terminal emulator will fuck you over sine you'd be too retarded to be using one in the first place. May as well just download random .exe files on windows from ThePirateBay if you're that stupid.

You're genuinely retarded.

There is no standard, and a lot of games these days are really poorly optimized, they just rely on super sampling and all, so they look like garbage too despite having high fidelity sometimes.

Yes, the ability to play modern games is considered the standard.
>and a lot of games these days are really poorly optimized
This means you should possess greater power, not less.
> they just rely on super sampling and all, so they look like garbage too despite having high fidelity sometimes.
It seems there may be a misunderstanding of the terminology. Super-sampling refers to rendering at a resolution higher than that of the display. It is unlikely that low-spec PCs are performing this process.
>>
>>741692395
Absolutely, I had a HoMM III video playing on my screen at work in Estonia and was shocked when my female co-worker told me she used to play this. I don't live there anymore but holy mother these games used to be big in these countries.

I bought 64gb DDR4 of ram to replace 32gb I had as I thought it would solve a problem I was having. It did not.
