Now you have many more activity points, but if you aren't using too many units then most of those are wasted on nothing and if you finish all the paralogues then your only other choice is to have boring and repetitive skirmishes to grind, which you should do in Maddening since the level curve will fuck you up. Hell, I recently finished Silver Snow for the first time and I was grateful that the game let's you skip the month before the final battle.
