The problem isn't the price, it's the really terrible subpar specs. The SFF is the biggest appeal. I've seen some DIY steam machine builds and will probably follow one of them even though it's roughly the same price, the specs are a lot better and the machine still looks small.

Steam Machine in 2024 would be half the price it currently is.I think Steam machines biggest issue is entry level is 512gb ssd. thats not enough for the price. Even consoles give you 1tb by default. Its the worst part of the Steam Machine to me and feels like a rip off.They need a revised model with 1tb ssd and two ram sticks.
