I read the full post and I'm not sure if you made this thread in good faith, partially because of the innecessary use of ''retards'' of course.
>>

>if i reset i will surely lose the ocarina therefore surely it cannot be that cuz that'd be stupid
Okay so... the game expects you to have played Ocarina of Time before playing this one, Anon....
>>
tl:dr
your attempted revisionism failed
>>
>>741737178
It's my favorite zelda and your opinion is peepee poopoo. Unironically.
>>
>>741737178
pretty sure you are told when the carnival takes place.
>>
>>741737178
also when you pull out the ocarina in front of skull kid it plays a chime letting you know that you are supposed to play a song. pay attention retard.
>>
>>741737505
In OoT you keep your rupees when you travel back in time
>>
>>741738095
in OoT you don't lose the fucking ocarina when you travel in time because it's literally the ocarina to travel in time, which is something everyone knows and there would be no reason for OP to be afraid of losing the Ocarina if he had played the previous game
>>
>wastes your time
These are all the Zelda games, and all Nintendo games in general.
When I found the first fairy in Zelda: TOTK, I spent fucking 30 MINUTES watching those animations just to upgrade everything I wanted.
That game is almost unbearable. A lot of it is just filler to mask the loading screens, but even so, it’s painful to play.
>>
>>741738184
You don't use the ocarina to travel time in that game. You travel with the master sword pedestal.
>>
>>741737178
>>
>>741741212
OP is either a shitty troll or a special kind of retarded.
>>
>>741741449
Why not both?
>>
>>741743236
True. He COULD be like the one dude who got lost because he kept skipping all the text.
>>
>>741737178
The point of the first loop (the tutorial) is to make you feel lost and confused because you're in a strange new world, and then you slowly piece together everything that's going on. It's not wasting your time if it's an intentional part of the experience and worldbuilding. Plus, if you know what to do, you can complete all the tasks quickly and then use the scarecrow to skip to the last night.

At least get a feel for the game first before you start complaining... The fun of Majora is discovering all the quests and working out how to efficiently complete as many quests as possible each time you restart the loop.
>>
>>741743395
? he didn't say anything about getting lost
>>
>>741744105
You were retarded enough to read OP's entire post?
>>
>you know how the worst part of any zelda or any japanese game is always dialogue with npcs and having to mash confirm dozens of time? let's make a whole game where you have to restart dialogues every time
>>
Truth is, Majora's Mask is truly a high IQ game and not everyone makes the cut. Sorry OP.
>>
>>741744156
He was retarded enough to miss the point of what I said, so...most likely, yes.

>>it's that. have to play the song. but somehow you keep the ocarina
wow, you are kinda dumb dude.
>>
>>741738184
This is entirely irrelevant.

OP is simply retarded because he doesnt follow his own logic.
>>if i reset i will surely lose the ocarina therefore surely it cannot be that cuz that'd be stupid
>>surely it cannot be that cuz that'd be stupid
is correct. its not that, because you dont lose ocarina.

Keep in mind at no point has retard OP ever been told by the game that he will lose his items. so why would he even think that? The moron is playing the game based on 3rd party information then complaining when the game doesnt adhere to his speculations based on 3rd party information.

OP has been once again proven to be a faggot. imagine my shock.

I'm pretty sure you can't buy bombs before getting a bag either so claiming you did is wrong too.
Im not sure if this guy actually pretended to moan about the game or if he's too stupid to figure out the purpose of progression in a time loop.

I've always figured that Link is basically just getting shaken around during the time travel and his loose shit just goes flying. It's a LOT easier to hold onto a quiver, a bag, and anything that can be secured. But 50 arrows, 30 loose nuts, and 50 bombs? Not a chance.

>>741752837
I tried shooting but he keeps dodging, considering it's zelda it's fair to assume it could be a puzzle boss encounter with another trick to take him down but you have to play the song
>>
>>741737178
children played and beat the game just fine btw
>>
>>741757970
He'd HAVE to shoot him. Continuing to shoot him just says "that won't do you any good". Tatl gives you a giant hint when you get the ocarina back. If he ISN'T lying, he's one of the biggest retards I have ever seen.
>>
>>741757970
Did you misread my post? You didn't talk about getting the ability to shoot before you did anything requiring it. It's one of the few things you can do in the tutorial.
I'm not saying there was clearly some secret way to win.
>>
>>741749742
The mask salesman tells you the clock tower only opens at midnight on the day of the festival. This is an unmissable dialogue. He will repeat this until the next step. Several other NPCs also mention it.

>>
How does time travelling work?
If Link playa the song, Tatl will travel to the past with Link even if it's not his Fairy, is It because of proximity?
But if Link has the Deku princess in a bottle, she will not time travel back to the past with Link, why is that? (Besides the obvious answer "it's a Game and that would break the quest")
>>
>>741762643
Well, Tatl usually hides in his hat, and when he plays the song, the Goddess Of Time sends him back. She's probably just deliberately NOT ejecting Tatl.

I remember really liking MM when I was younger, but I replayed it recently with the recomp and honestly didn't find it very fun.
I remember liking how open ended it was in a sort of metroidvania way, and I do still like optimizing my schedule to get a ton of stuff in a single cycle. But it ultimately is still very linear and most masks are pointless outside of the main masks, the bomb mask, the stone mask and the bunny hood.
Was kind of bored and confused going through woodfall and snowhead, had fun after going to the ranch to beat the aliens, getting the stone mask and then getting all the zora eggs. Still ended up stopping on great bay temple because I simply wasn't feeling it anymore.

>>
>>741763695
I'm not mad it isn't the same. That was not what I said.
The point is that once you know the game and you don't have that sense of discovery it's not that fun.
When you first play it you might be trying to start all kinds of sidequest and getting hyped for masks and the game seems massive and open ended. But when you know it better a lot of those things are pointless now since you only care about a handful of masks, half of which are just for convenience.
I guess if I learned some speedrun sequence break stuff I could make it more engaging but I don't think I want to dedicate the time and effort on it.

>>

Enjoying a game is not mental illness, retard. Your opinion is wrong. Just like retards who claim that a game mechanic is "outdated". Just say that YOU DON'T LIKE IT. It's still fun. YOUR tastes have just changed.
>>
>>741764193
>Enjoying a game is not mental illness
The issue isn't enjoying a game, it's you replaying it every few months.
The definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing over and over again and expecting different results. That's what you're doing being overly obsessive with the game.
>Your opinion is wrong. Just like retards who claim that a game mechanic is "outdated". Just say that YOU DON'T LIKE IT. It's still fun.
Again, just chill. It's not that big of a deal.
>YOUR tastes have just changed.

>>
>>741764303
Your "definition" is retarded and wrong. Go inside, destroy everything you've every watched, read, or enjoyed once before. Then you'll see how full of shit you are.

I also don't "expect different results". I ENJOY the journey. I even do CHALLENGE RUNS ffs. Now eat shit, retard.
>>
>>741764415
>Your "definition"
It's not mine
>I ENJOY the journey. I even do CHALLENGE RUNS ffs.
You do challenge runs because the vanilla game isn't enjoyable enough anymore.
>>
>>741737178
It translated the puzzle solving core of Zelda to its side quests while managing the 3-day cycle. No other Zelda game has done anything like that.
>>
>>741764482

It IS your definition. The definition of insanity is as follows:
----
insanity
noun
in·san·i·ty in-ˈsa-nə-tē
plural insanities
Synonyms of insanity
1
dated : a severely disordered state of the mind usually occurring as a specific disorder
2
law : unsoundness of mind or lack of the ability to understand that prevents someone from having the mental capacity required by law to enter into a particular relationship, status, or transaction or that releases someone from criminal or civil responsibility
3
a
: extreme folly or unreasonableness
the insanity of violence
His comments were pure insanity.
b
: something utterly foolish or unreasonable
the insanities of modern life
----

And no, I do challenge runs because I'm curious about how far I can push the game. Now shut the fuck up, retard.
>>
>>741764587
Oh, well. Try to not troon out too hard in the future.
>>
>>741763867
It's probably because your brain realized that MM is a chore checklist game. Once you get everything you need, there isn't really a need to do everybody's side quest unless you just feel like going for the 100% and effortlessly shitting on Majora.
>>
>>741737178
I was a kid, but no guide. Just played limited games for years and eventually learned it inside and out. For a player gayly speedrunning it though yeah the worldbuilding would be annoying running you around.

>>
>>741764652
>It's probably because your brain realized that MM is a chore checklist game.
True, but other games like super metroid are also chore checklists but I can replay it more often and keep having fun. I assume because the movement is inherently more interesting.

tatl doesn't say anything about a carnival or when it's supposed to occur
>The Professor(He literally says that the doors open at midnight on the night of the carnival
I literally mentioned that one line, is the whole source of confusion since there's no info about WHEN a carnival is supposed to happen
>granny
found her in wheelchair in hotel and she doesn't say anything meaningful "tortus are you ready?" wtf does that have to do with a carnival

you can't tell me where in the intro is this information about the carnival occurring at the end of the 3 days because it isn't there, there is no connection established between the two things, there is no way to ask npcs questions, you're only speaking from the perspective of already knowing the game, concession accepted

there were no granny stories, she just said her weird line without offering more dialogue
I restarted the game just to check dialogue and she has different dialogue between day and night, she only offers stories during the day so that's why I didn't see that
she doesn't mention the date either but at least it's some context about the carnival being a thing
same with mutoh, when you try to dialogue in the mayor office he just loops his argument with the guard but I guess if you wait for him to leave and try when he's outside he must have more dialogue
so that's gonna be half the game, waiting for arbitrary conditions to trigger and stalking npcs to see if they have different dialogue at different hours, amazing gameplay

my problem is that im the anti dsp i'm too good and too smart for such shit games, i actually question things, i'm inquisitive and verify things, and im too aware of their design flaws and when i point out how full of arbitrary crap they are, completely fair remarks and it's non stop gas lighting and empty narratives
genuinely pisses me off because i've only seen this behavior with zelda cultists you're all mentally ill and built these narratives that these games are beyond criticism or that anyone daring to point their inconsistent and arbitrary design out must be yellow paint dsp when they actually punish 3 digits iqs

OP may be exaggerating to piss of the MM is perfect crowd, but the game does legitimately have one of the worst tutorial segments in Zelda. How some anons shit on OoT's optional tutorial while thinking that MM's minimum hour long one is fine I'll never know.
>>
>>741773790
It's not an hour long. It's about 30 minutes, and if done reasonably efficiently, the objectives take about 15 to 20, which gives you time to wander around, get your bearings, etc

Most first time players don't DO it efficiently, so it's usually closing in on the final hours by the time they're ready to go up there.
