>Skyrim mod that is an entirely new game >Skyrim but betterWhy isn't it more well known?
>>741751320because modded skyrim is still better than any total conversion will be
>>741751320Because Skyrim is dogshit and Enderal isn’t different enough to fix that. I’ve tried multiple times to play this game and the furthest I got was leaving the starter cave.
>>741751476Filtered
>>741751320It's a mod for Skyrim that turns Skyrim into a more niche experience that's not in tune with what most people who play Skyrim who want. You can see the problem there.
>>741751320It's fucking gay. Everyone has anime hair and goofy costumes.
>>741751320People dont like Gameplay and Storys that aren't clearly explained in cincematics.
>>741751320I'm sure it's terrible because modders are generally terrible game designers with the most appalling senses for balance, aesthetics, writing, pretty much you name it. There's a reason they modify other peoples games instead of trying to make their own. Besides, not even mods can fix the shitty engine.
>>741751580TrueShe only died because she couldnt resist the dick of her ex-chadbf
>>741751320Being a mod inherently limits its reach. Also the levelling system in it is retarded as fuck.>>741751476Enderal is hugely different.>the furthest I got was leaving the starter cave.So you didn't even finish the tutorial.
>>741751320It's super well known, /v/ is just incredibly contrarian so because the popular consensus is that it's terrific and better than skyrim you'll get a bunch of drooling neanderthals who will say it isn'tThe overall game design makes it a far, far superior experience as an RPG and the writing is better than 99.9% of games or media in general, the music is as good as base skyrim but the bard music completely BTFOs skyrim and most other games with bard music as well. The most baffling part is that it was made by just 13 people with no budget, they really should have just had these guys make TESVI. Not sure how you can have hundreds of employees and millions of dollars over many years but somehow have just 13 fucking unpaid volunteers with jack and shit for experience make a fuckin masterpiece using your engine, makes no fucking sense at all but it's part of the reason for me starfield was such a horrific disappointment. How the fuck is a free game made on a busted ass jank 2011 version of their engine a far superior evolution of their own 2011 game than their fuckin 2020 gazillion dollar 500 dev sequel makes no god damn sense at all, what the fuck? Also the project leads for this went places, with the main guy leading the gothic remake project and two other team members publishing an independent RPG called Fatekeeper that's looking terrific as wellAnd SureAI is working on an unannounced fantasy RPG of their own, so things are looking up. This team is amazing, can't wait to see what they do next! The story of the 13 volunteers to me is like the equivalent of 300 spartans lol, it's so inspiring it pushed me to work on a game as well and it's going extremely well, less than 90 days in and the game is nearing ready to play! Enderal is so fantastic, changed my fucking life for the better, what a fantastic achievement, I love this game
>>741751320>Skyrim but betterIt's not better than vanilla skyrim, let alone modded skyrim
>>741751320I tried this because after every review on steam and online said>GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD!!! AMAZIGN GAMEPLAY!!!The gameplay was fine, but the story was shit
>>741751320I dropped it after the meat part
I think they really got the best out of the skyrim format. The open world elements might be weaker and the combat is shitty as well but everything else was shockingly good, like the story, level designs of dungeons and Ark, quest designs, soundtracks, etc. It's also really impressive how they made memorable sequences with the meme oblivion camera.
>>741751580That was Nehrim (which was also Oblivion but better lol)
>>741751320Did it get sex mod support? No? Probably why.
>>741751320Because at the end of the day a Skyrim TC is still a polished turd + it has its own set of problems.
>>741756070>+ it has its own set of problemslike what
>>741752010I didn't know one of them did the gothic remake. maybe I'll try the game
I've never played a single skyrim quest mod thats decent. They usually are lacking in the following areas>dogshit voice acting and tonality Enderal sounds like some dudes got together on a drunken Sunday night and voice that characters its shit and detracts from the writting.>poor writtingUsually millennial cringe quips, or they try to make it deep or profound. Seriously its like none of these guys took an English class or read classic novels and literature growing up with is unheard of since these are 30-40 year old dudes.Video game modding just attracts losers man.
>>741751320It's not more well known because it's not compatible with like 99.9% of the other mods I want to use.
>>741756112These cinematics. It's heavily focused on story but it's not that good at storytelling so going through narrative setpieces or reading infodumps are a slog. Actual exploration is not interesting and while it tries to fix combat and shit it's still limited by Todd Engine.
>>741755938I almost dropped it for that too. Glad I didn't. Wish I could play it for the first time again.
>>741751320>make a big fuss about having some big shot writer >writer copies Mass Effect 3 ending and reaper plot, a.k.a the shittiest part of Mass Effect
I thought it was pretty fun
>>741751320Because over 90% of people who played Skyrim never installed a single mod and Enderal is a mod.
>>741752010>How the fuck is a free game made on a busted ass jank 2011 version of their engine a far superior evolution of their own 2011 game than their fuckin 2020 gazillion dollar 500 dev sequel makes no god damn sense at all, what the fuck? They dont have to make the engine and can re-use a lot of assets. Also Bethesda just makes games for a different audience than you. I agree bethesda game design philosophy is lame they dont make games for me either.
>>741751320I don't know but I always shill it when someone's interested because it's great. Actually has anyone tried that dumb AI mod with it? I've been feeling like an Enderal replay and fucky AI dialog sounds really fun too
Some cringe writing and the world is pretty empty(besides the enemies) there isn't a whole lot of sidequests. All the NPCs/townspeople have no name and nothing to say.Not saying its bad but it got some glaring flaws and its obvious it's a (ambitious) mod made with few resources. Also a lot more buggy and janky than Skyrim.>>741755978>NehrimSame as above but worse.
>>741758234Well you can just download it from the steam store so that makes it more accessible than 99% of mods
Because skyrim but better is still skyrim and I don't care how many mods you throw at it, it still plays like fuck. This goes double for "totally not skyrim" games like Tainted Grail.
>>741758828>the world is pretty empty(besides the enemies) there isn't a whole lot of sidequests. All the NPCs/townspeople have no name and nothing to say. This is so unbelievably wrong. Enderal is full of unique regions full of handcrafted ruins and dungeons that are each unique, as opposed to Skyrim's caves where you've seen one and you've seen all of them. There's a huge amount of NPCs and plenty of them have unique dialogue.
>>741758960>he didnt like going on adventure with your best friend king arthur actual soulless take, likely a jeet or a SEA
>>741758609>They dont have to make the engine and can re-use a lot of assetsThis is also true of Bethesda.
>>741759056IT STILL PLAYS LIKE SKYRIMI DON'T LIKE HOW SKYRIM PLAYS
>>741758963Yeah but there is nothing worth going to, at best you find a note/"environmental storytelling"
>>741751320I didn't like the healing restrictions, and the lack of dragon attacks. I understand trying to limit the pause and spam heals thing, but Skyrim to me is about trading hits and burning through supplies. Dragon attacks were also exciting and broke up the otherwise calm-ish vibe that the game has. Speaking of vibe and vibe breaking; Enderal's vibe was extremely eerie and offputting the entire time I was playing. I believe I stopped after getting to the big city because I was just thoroughly uninterested in anything the game had shown me so far.
>>741756369Bioware didnt invent cyclic events retard and Enderal does it better anyway.
>>741759101kill yourself retard
>>741759101This is also wrong because the dungeons are full of treasure and all loot is valuable in pure monetary terms because of the levelling system. I don't think you actually played the game. Never mind that you don't think exploring cool unique ruins is a reward in and of itself.
enderal is far worse than skyrim simply because of all the SHIT unskippable dialogueat least with skyrim you can bump into people to skip through it and its all pretty shortthis is nonstop talking and i dont think you can even move 99% of the time
>>741755978>Nehrim>BetterLet's not get carried away now. It did some things a little better than Oblivion, but the main quest line kinda stunk (not to mention goes off the rails near the end), and the little video montage at the very end with the metal music blaring felt like a real whiplash. The spiders models stuck out like sore thumbs, didn't even bother to stylize them, it's like just a fuckin' tarantula that barely animates in a real creepy, janky way and they just copy pasted them with some different color palettes. Also, shoutout to that haunted forest area that tanks your FPS and increases your chance of getting a CTD the longer you hang around there (even the devs admitted they fucked up when designing that area and pretty much recommend speedrunning your way through it).
>>741759335Enemies are tedious in this game and combat in Skyrim engine isn't particular fun so I see no reason to actively seek them out and waste my time
Are there any sex modlists for Enderal?Asking for a friend.
>>741759534It doesnt have level scaling so its automatically better, also classical XP leveling but that can be debated. Its also just sexy and the ambience is comfy, given thats Oblivions strongest point too but Nehrim is actually hand build so again its simply better. Also also Kim changes genders based on your main character, good times.
>>741751320i tried playing this years ago but the world design put me offits far too curated and themeparkey atleast skyrim oblivion and morrowind those maps feel like actual territories instead of sections of disney world
>>741751476>starter caveWhat happens there that makes you drop it so quickly? Do you not even meet the two alchemists right after that?
>>741752010I genuinely have some hope for SureAI's own rpg. I know one of the guys decided to write Enderal books that are now legally distinct, and they have been great.Good on you for making your own game too, anon. When you're ready you should shill it.
>>741751320I think people just think it's a smaller mod, or think it's hard to implement, but I don't think it's necessarily not well known. Now Nehrim and Arktwend and Myar Aranath (which unfortunately I never did get to work), those are the lesser known ones. And yeah there's lore changes but they're also worth playing.
>>741751320Because it's not, in fact, bett than Skyrim. Enderal didn't try to be TES but rather Gothic, so anyone looking for that 'itch' that makes you keep coming back to Skyrim time and again, the complete freedom and variety in roleplaying and dungeon delving will be sorely disappointed. You're expected to always start where you do then go to Ark and do the main quest while accepting some side content here and there but never too far from the expected path. As for the story, it's a terrible narrative for a video game plus it's obsessed with philosophical concepts it only really pretends to understand. The game seems to be interested in the subjectivity of reality and the nature at which we internalize and comprehend that which is around us which is a cool idea except the writers never truly play with this idea like they seem to intend to. Even the big reveal at the end when you're character is revealed as an idealized reflection of your dead soul's hopes and dreams is sort of revealed and then tossed away. The game is full of dream and dream-like sequences but it's always crystal clear by the end as to what is real and what is not except maybe the Dreamflower ending. The game is also full of some of the most pseudo-intellectual hot takes on human nature that it comes off as Philosophy of Religion 101 student sniffing his own farts. This is extremely prevalent with the writing of Jespar when he starts being the author's mouthpiece for what he thinks the reason for all the ills in the world are. I don't mind the author wanting to encourage the player to question the things around them much like he does, but he doesn't quite achieve that. It either makes the same fart-sniffers clap their hands, or it turns off people who find the fact that you want to preach to me about human fragility in a fantasy video game where I kill goat-werewolves a little weird.
>>741752010>The overall game design makes it a far, far superior experience as an RPG and the writing is better than 99.9% of games or media in generallmfao
>>741751320>Mod is better than the original No shit Sherlock. Of course a mod is better than the game it is built on top. If it wasn't better the mod wouldn't have much of a reason to exist.I'll never get why people praise standalone mods like New Vegas for achieving the bare minimum. Of course NV will be better than the base game since it already has the base game to work off.
Calia BEST GIRL Dijaam A SHIT, A SHIT!
>>741763810For me its Esme.
>>741762514>standalone mods like New Vegasbased
>>741764163if the dyke can't be dicked she will not be picked
>>741751320The writing is really bad, as is the norm for anything German.
>>741764215She would have offered a threesome with Tara if she didnt kys herself, why do you think Prophet bothered with any of that shit.
Looks and plays exactly the same as Skyrim, so being unable to disconnect from that everything it presents comes off as cringy fanfiction made by someone with not enough talent to make their own game, instead settling for a mediocre engine with mediocre assets.
>>741751320because it's still Skyrim at its core and it's got mediocre writing.
>>741751320I stopped playing when it crashed once
>>741751320I read the books written by the dude who wrote the story for Enderal; Dreams of the Dying and Cure for the Living. DotD is pretty good, wouldn't say it's incredble but it had me engaged pretty much the whole read with few complaints. CftL is absolutely a step above in writing prose and skill, but holy fuck the writer is the most miserable schmuck, just none stop suffering for everyone involved in the story nearly the entire way through.
>>741751320Enderal is fine, but it's not the improvement its fans make it out to be. Going into it blind, I enjoyed that it's marginally more difficult than Skyrim. But as soon as you can make your own food and get down a decently strong summon most encounters are either way too trivial or so unfair that they need you to savescum. This compounds the problem that the only meaningful way to raise your skills is to buy skill books, so you're more encouraged to take the trivial fights and over-abundance of mid-tier loot than adopting a risk vs reward style that the non-regenerating heath seems to be going for. Maybe I just missed a core mechanic or I'm just not playing one of the meta builds, but to me it feels like the game wants you to do everything by its rules, except there's no payoff for jumping through the hoops. It's just more of the same thing in a different region. At least in Skyrim you can go around the themepark that it is freely and there really aren't any setbacks for doing things out of order.
>>741770525Enderal does have the obvious point of freedom in that if you're able to pull off going to a dangerous area early you can get a lot of strong gear much sooner than you'd normally have it. I don't like the skill books system at all though, it's very tedious to deal with.
I tried playing previous mod from these guys for Oblivion and it felt extremely odd, like if someone tried too hard to turn Oblivion into Gothic. Is this one the same?
>>741752010>The overall game design makes it a far, far superior experience as an RPGThis is true, but it's not hard to be a better RPG than Skyrim>and the writing is better than 99.9% of games or media in generalYou're delusional and retarded>>741751320Because as >>741756070 said a "Skyrim but better" is still a 5/10 game at the end of the dayI quit Enderal when I got around to doing the not-dark brotherhood questline in the mines and mid recruitment in the arena I got teleported away and the game assumed I don't want to be part of an evil mob harassing homeless people and chose for me to hang out with this worthless faggot and solve his grievance with the DB. Googled the questline even to see if I fucked up somewhere and no, you can backstab him only at the sheer end of it but you never actually join the not-DBThat and the main story was fucking terrible between gayest dev's self-insert to ever exist bitching about religion and other dev's deviantart OC aping his favorite anime moments like this shit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaNBNNi2EiQThe only good part of the mod were the bard songs desu
Because even though miles better gameplay and story wise, it's still Skyrim underneath it all.
>>741772531>story wiseI really gave up after the third oh you're invested? well SIKE you don't get to play the game yet! moment.
>>741762514>what are factorio total conversion mods
>skyrim but autisticNo thanks
>>741751320you're just late to the party
>>741772531>it's still Skyrim underneath it all.this I loved Enderal but the base is rotten
>>741751320Because it's impossible to pirate, keeps crashing no matter where or which version I download
>>741772531>it's still Skyrim underneath it all.no its not every piece of gameplay is completely different from the character to the world
