It's still somewhat hard for me to come in terms with the fact that stuff like Halo is considered the Good Old Days now. But I also often wonder how the modern times will be remembered some decades after. In recent years media have begun to turn into Ouroboros, endless remakes, revivals, sequels nobody asked for. Will people be nostalgic for them? Will they still be playing CS and TF2 and rewatching LotR trilogy? Every once in a while I come across a cool looking old game that I probably wouldn't spare a glance to back when it came out. Will people see modern games the same way 50 years from now on? Will they ever get a chance to? Perhaps by that time the internet will completely cease to be how we know it now, and there will be grizzled archivers telling the youngsters the wonders of early web.

The technological gap is so minimal that a vast majority of current gen games also run on PS4, this wasn't happening during the 8bit to 16bits or 16bits to 32bits shift, you wouldn't see a SNES or MegaDrive run a Daytona USA or Ridge Racer. Even 2D games like Symphony of the Night wouldn't run on older consoles, you can't compare the NES to PS2 gap to the PS4 to current day, the gap absolutely isn't the same on the technical side.
