You can still get OP early if you know what you're doing, it just takes more effort now.
They also squashed plenty of bugs and Permadeath works as intended now but game is still far from being completely bug free.

Mana regen is nice too
I also like Skillful Lockpicking, because it rewards you for investing in lockpicking by making the mini game significantly easier with trained and basically braindead with master instead of just completly bypassing it.

Ther are several unvoiced lines in the first conversation with Xardas when talking about Raven and Water Mages, but they are translated well. Also, until you start working for Bosper, he is teaching you other hunting skills (which didn't happen in OG game) and it has unvoiced explanatory lines. So far it looks like three different translations (original, a bit better one but diferent and straight up AI shit) smashed together and it can be all of those within one dialogue. Some lines are even in German. NPC naming is all over the place. I dunno what the fuck happened there.

Yeah, the New Camp should have had more bullies like Lefty. It did have the asshole bouncer who tries to rip you off to let you into the tavern, even though you could enter the tavern with the free Digger armor you get in the Free Mine. Then there's that piece of shit Baloro, who makes you go grocery shopping for him and doesn't pay you for it. Lares also tries to rip you off for a lot of money in order to join the camp, even though it's completely unnecessary if you just bring him the list of demands from the Old Mine.
They just fuck you over and rip you off for the most part.

The Old Camp going crazy after you get the plot into motion was great though, imo. They thrive on stagnation, so it's natural for them to lose their shit over a lot of things happening.

I'm actually doing my 2nd run on hard with permadeath rn. Just got to chapter 3. It is scary at times. The 1st chapter is the worst. Almost got ended by a snapper that blended perfectly with the foliage yesterday.
Also bows are boring AF would not recommend.

Name one thing the original Gothic 1 does better. The remake being such a true to spirit remake while improving everything from even fleshing out the Orc sections of the latter half of the game just means it's literally just better. Combat is far better too both in feel and even complexity.

The fuck complexity did the originals even have when the entire difficulty comes from simply getting to grips with the combat and then the game turning into a "just walk up, spam the directional attacks to win". Look at the state of the bows, basically just glitch out the AI and turn your brain off to auto win every single fight because the bows are fully locked on. Gothic remake is more difficult and superior to the original Gothic 1.

If you go by world density it might be like 3/4ths of it already, hell since you have enough gear and level to go everywhere in the map it might be almost all of it.

I really enjoyed the puzzles of lockpicking for the first 10 hours. I made me invest in lockpicking skills because at first being master lockpicker really helpee a lot. But then there are thise chests that sometimes arent even lvl 4, that even with master lockpicker you break your head on it for 30 minutes and end up using an online solver and in the end to get shitty stuff 80% of the time. It really made me regret investing lp in lockpicking, so i just restarded the game and i just use a solver all the time and didnt lose my lp.

I managed to sneak inside the temple twice.
Once was with Muk's help and when I approached the barrier there was a cutscene and bunch of warriors jumped me.

OG Gothic1 had a very unique control scheme in which you used Ctrl as an "action" key then used movement keys to direct your action, picking items was Ctrl+Up, attacks where on Ctrl+Left/Right or Ctrl+Up etc etc...

Ok, Lust provocing image attached, now can someone help me because i'm worried i've fucked my build or something.

It's my first time playing Gothic mind you. But basically i'm in chapter 3 where I need to speak to Diego (spoke to the black water mage guy for the focus crystals). Leveling up seems way slower, can't remember my exact level but I have 47 STR. I want to do a greatsword build, I just got the training to wield them but now it looks like I need like 60+ LP to not only get to the STR to use most of them, but to then master them (It's like 40 or 30 LP can't recall from Thorus).

Am I gonna be able to use them before the last fucking chapter? I haven't even been spending LP on any magic shit, I got one training in bows and mastered lockpicking/one handed weapons. I have gotten some flavor skills it seems (climbing, even got the punching one from the UFC fighter cameo dude) and I spent some other random points (water breathing or some shit). But I just feel like i've not been dumping in STR as much as i've needed to.

You could have been using them even in Ch2, perhaps even in Ch1. Clear the map more. Use scrolls to clear tough obstacles. You'll get roughly ~350 LPs in total, if you explore almost everything.
Another way to get ahead is by discovering items that increase your STR. For instance, just from the amulet slot you can get +15 Str.

There's enough XP in the game to become +80 in both STR, DEX, mastering both melee weapon types, as well as both ranged types. I didn't touch magic at all though. I got all the supplementary skills, trophy collecting, climbing, as well as master lockpicking and trainer pickpocketing. You didn't mess anything up, but you may have gotten the 2Handers sooner than you'd like.

So am I just stuck with this quest perma now?

The one from act one, I got involved in the raid, just trying to maximize all the quests for xp etc before picking the Old Camp, did the raid (but didn't turn the quest in obviously as that gets you into the New Camp) and now this quest is hardstuck and the carriage we ransacked is stuck in the road still in chapter 3 (can't even use my mount anywhere near it because it will despawn and not answer my calls because the mount apparently is programmed to despawn in scripted areas like that one)

barehands fighting: meme skill, you better get 2h ASAP and pump strength for unga bunga
Hunting skill: fucking joke and waste of LP
Climbing: Essential since it's give more room for exploration and sometimes safe route
Diving: Important if you're not using lockpicking solution for underwater chest
Lockpicking: Get trained and get lockpicking solution mod from nexus

Pump your main stats (str/dex) you only need to be trained in 1 handed now, get acrobatic ASAP and learn enemy attack pattern because there's the point where they get "tired" and stand to "catch breath" and that's when you swing your blade. High strength also add extra power to overhead swing that can downed adult scavengers and wolves, dodge their attack and measure your distance so your overhead slash will meet their head.

For now im str-maxxing with some dex added later for bows. in ch1 quickly take one of the baal offer in old camp to escort you to swamp camp, if you're lucky you'll encounter wolves and HE WILL kill it for you, loot the wolf for the teeth and find torrez and do his quest ASAP and PICK FIREBOLT rune instead healing. With firebolt you can kill everything around the camps easily except few enemies like lurker, orc dogs, and snapper (they need more str + better weapon invesment)

First playthrough had to be the classic Old Camp way
